Dont know if you will still see this, but you missed one. When doing a double battle and both of your pokemon die at the same time. You can't select a new pokemon to enter the battle and therefor you are stuck and have to soft restart.

As a young child at the time of Gen 3s release, it was crazy to me that "gotta catch em all" was a thing in Pokemon and that some people had achieved it. Only at a much later date did I learn this was MUCH easier to accomplish before Gen 3 (and after, thanks to the introduction of WiFi), and Gen 3 is just ridiculously impossible for any normal child.

This was a fantastic video, I'm hoping you will do gen 4 next, just wondering how many games of gen 3 you need to play to complete gen 4.

I was actually super lucky and was able to buy a distribution cartridge for this event last year and it worked! Mew was able to be transferred up to Gen 4 as well which was super cool

The things i like about doing the professor oaks challenge are the mechanics throughout the game and the way the pickup ability that zigzagoon and bunnelby have can help to find specific items

Bruh. It took forever just to complete every dex entry in the game! The last Pokémon I needed was a stupid shieldon and I couldn’t complete it without having to catch one since the dex page was so small. I tried space time distortion which is the only place it spawn. Never found one. So I ended up having someone trade one to me since trading counts as catching. The shiny charm has never felt so good

Doing Oak's challenge is already a monumental challenge on any game, but on diamond and pearl who have this ungodly slow effect due to the poor quality of the engine used on the newly released 3DS (at the time), it's really a sisyphean endeavor.
