When a contact move hits an opponent with the Sticky Barb, the item is automatically transmitted. Their names contact, so it checks contact first and instead of it stealing the item, its transfers by it's own properties.

The message didn't display for sticky barb because any move that makes contact transfers it to that pokemon. So you didn't steal it, it got stuck to you.

Technically speaking some may be impossible due to the Dream World closing down. While there’s various VPN and custom severs that still allow for wifi, I’m pretty sure the Dream World is a no-go. Unless, of course, if you’re a filthy hacker.

Suggestion for a future video: You know how there are evolved Pokémon that can be encountered in the wild (or in earlier games, traded) that have a level lower than the level they evolve at, such as level 3 Electrode or level 9 Salamence? How easily can you obtain every underleveled Pokémon at their lowest possible level? This would encompass every game up to up to the latest entries, all possible methods of obtaining Pokémon (Yes, even the Pokéwalker.), and also include Pokémon like Vileplume whose pre-evo is obtained underleveled, but evolving it still counts as underleveled for that stage. Pokémon like Wobbuffet who can hatch at that stage probably wouldn't count as would Pokémon who evolve while knowing a certain move since those moves can be bred down or tutored (Mamoswine being an exception thanks to Piloswine), but I'll leave that up to you.

You talking about Barbie made me think of my second time meeting of my Granny, Barb. I was about 10-11 and I went to her house with my step dad. I remember her giving me a magic-color princess book. Then, I saw an action figure of Megaman and I fell in love with it. I still have now, years later. According to my step dad, she asked something to the effect of "She's into that stuff?" Bless my step dad, he said "hell yeah she is." I was never really into Barbie doll because they, honestly, made me feel like I had to wear dresses and skirts and be pretty above anything else. Now, I know that is the intention of Barbie dolls, but my young mind was just uncomfortable with Barbies. A little thought child for the masses. I think the sticky barb theif animation didn't work because since theif is a physical move, it stuck to the attacking pokemon before the effect of theif was calculated.

9:24 Sticky Barb is automatically transferred to the attacker if you use a move that make contact and aren’t holding an item. So since the move Thief makes contact the sticky barb attached itself to your Gothitelle, that’s why you didn’t steal it, it is supposed to do that

On the topic of the Sticky Barb, thief not stealing it is intended. When a move makes contact with a Pokémon holding the Sticky Barb, the item latches onto the opponent. I assume the text doesn’t show due to sticky barb attaching as soon as damage is dealt, before thief checks if it can steal an item.
