How easily Ike can solo his game, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

This is a rundown of my Ike solo run. I do have a full series of this run, if anyone is interested in it.
Overall there were only a few chapters that were difficult, 17 was the most difficult. If anyone has specific questions feel free to ask.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. When I was playing through it that’s all I could think about, and even scarier he was fully capable of wiping the map. Which I think would be even more terrifying. And I love this game it is my favorite fire emblem if not game, for nostalgia sure. But also it’s my favorite story in fire emblem.

i literally just got to this chapter and as I was setting up my squad i unchecked them all and i saw Ike was able to be by himself and so I tried the run with just him. As im typing this hes in the middle of the bridge chilling in a pit lmao

That was fun. i did something similar around the time Radiant Dawn came out. I heard there was a cut scene that you could only get if Ike and Soren had an A support in FE9, imported the data, and had an A support again. So for me it wasn't an Ike solo, but an IkexSoren tag team. I had a bit of an easier time because soren can promote WAYYYY earlier, and their support gives massive avoid and a minor attack boost (+22 avoid and +1 attack). Plus they have a special support bonus built in where if they are next to each other Soren can't be crit.

Is it that endgame cutscene on radiant dawn, where they both kind of ride off into the sunset? I never did that myself, that sounds like a pretty fun run. I will try it out one day, I’ve thought about doing one with just the brothers. Individually for the two older, but definitely not Rolf. And then one with them together.

That's a really great run. I used to see other videos of content creators trying this challenge but they'd usually get stuck on one of the chapter 17's. But once you get past that and get the promotion the game gets really easy. Your voice sounds great!

I really appreciate that, yeah I had a few difficult chapters but 17-4 was the worst. If I didn’t forget I couldn’t make multiple forged weapons in one base visit, I think I could have done a lot better. And I appreciate the reassurance on my voice over, hopefully I get better at not tripping on my words.

Thank you very much mythril, I really appreciate that. I’m thinking about doing videos like this for my challenge runs, or unique runs. I always liked watching videos like this, my thought process is that I will have videos of all types for each run. Some people like bite sized, some people like let’s plays, and some people like to watch it all in one video. Usually when people make videos like this, they have no actual let’s play. So it always leaves me curious about what they left out.

I’m sorry if the voiceover sounds wierd. It feels strange to record my voice when there isn’t actually anything going on. I think it gets more natural sounding as it goes on.

Ahh yeah i think thats a common thing for people (to find recording of their voice weird). I think your voice sounds nice, when recording are you watching what youre editing your voice over at the same time? (the sound quality and the layering of the voice over the video was clean)

@@tomwylie6562 some of it I watched beforehand. And then other parts I did at the same time. I did it in segments, and if I thought my voice sounded off in some parts I recorded my voice again to try and sound more natural. I appreciate the reassurance, it’s nice to get positive feedback. To be honest even negative feedback as long as it serves a purpose would be appreciated.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I’ve always wondered about it. But I had never done it, I was fully aware that others have done it as well. I didn’t want to ask a question that many people have already asked. So I thought I would make it more of a statement. And overall it was pretty easy, but there were definitely a few chapters that were not.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I could work on slowing the pace a bit on those kinds of videos, it is the first time I made a video like that, and I was not sure how to do it well. If you do get curious, I do have a full playthrough of that run as well.

How long ago did you try it? I think I could have done it without bringing in a couple decoys. But I forgot about the forge limit, and waited to long to make really good weapons for Ike. Ch.17 was the end of the difficulty for the run. When Ike promoted it was all over for daein.

The fight against Greil is totes fair! It's not like he has Discipline on or anything.😮 You used the Seraph Robe in Chapter 1 instead of hoarding it off and risking Ike getting two/three-shotted by the enemies. Boo! That's your level 20 unpromoted Ike? Mine is currently at level 14 with 9 strength, 11 def and 4 res😢 I envy you so much for not having OCD take over for Chapter 10! Like, I don't think I have it, but by god, I swear that before I die I WILL learn the quickest escape patterns possible while also getting every recruit and all the loot by heart!😤 Also, yeah... Ike (not you...) is such a mean person for leaving everyone to rot down there! :O I love how for Chapter 11 you still had a hard time despite having a max-level Ike, and that you just resorted to heavy sarcasm there in order to cover up the despair of having had to restart the map from the beginning😂 I swear, 2-1 in Radiant Dawn is a much better executed "spare the volunteers" gimmick... Birth of the Haar/Shiiharam ship?🤔 YOU suck at weapon names? My names are almost always "Laura Light", Aran Lance, Fiona Lance, Celica Dagger, etc. Looking at how easily you cheesed the game with Ike only, it makes me realise: it's such a shame that Path of Radiance is not a more difficult game. Also LMAO, I had no idea green units killed contributed to the kill counter XD

Before my memory card effed up, my Ike was level 13 with 7 str. In my e rank weapon run, he was doing like 2 damage per battle. I really appreciate the comment, it’s nice to get awesome comments like this one. Yeah I left alot of loot, I needed to save the chest keys. And I didn’t allow thief’s. And yeah Shiiharam’s last words being about Haar makes it seem possible. I did just try it on maniac mode, and I do not think it is practical. If Ike had a crit chance and crit every time then maybe, but you just do not have enough weapon uses. The 4 iron swords thing Is not in maniac.

I wish I had fished for more kills and got it over 700. There were a-lot of enemy units I let go because he was already maxed out on lvls.

@@GreatAether58 I really appreciate that comment. Sadly while I kept it within my own rule set. It would have been nice to field Ike fully alone on 17-4, if he had more defense and I remembered to make better weapons it may have been possible. And 17-3 I got totally lucky, that wasn’t planned at all. If a mage got in range he would have been done for.

My first hard mode run was a low man run. I used the brothers and mordecai, and used them to take down naesala, where the all die. Then i finished the game with rhys, ranulf nasir, ike and tibarn

That sounds really cool, have you done anything like that since? I am going to do an E rank weapon hard mode run next. Only using Ragnell for the final boss (maybe the black night). I thought about doing a run where I just use the brothers for combat.

@polarisguild Usually my run style is to grind out as many lv20/20 units I can. Recently I've been trying understand the Low turn count style and where the point what makes the game easier vs harder lies.

@@skypaladin9878 I am partly the same, I do not like to promote early. I don’t know if it is ocd or what, but all I can think of is the potential loss in stats. I’ve recently seen a small KZbin channel named alternaties do low turn count on blazing blade. I never really thought about it before that. Have you tried one yet, or just studying it?

@polarisguild Haven't tried one, just been pushing to finish maps at or under 10 turns. Pretty slow by most accounts, but I feel like most of the games are balanced around that goal.

Hopefully this translates correctly. I had more difficulty on ch.17 than 26, I just sent him straight to renning. This is on difficult mode, so technically not that hardest. But it was the hardest I had access to.

PoR one of the easiest games in the entire series even on the hardest difficulty setting (Right up there with Sacred Stones); at least if you live Overseas. In Japan, Maniac mode is much harder sort of. Harder compared to other difficulties of this game specifically, though not quite as hard as its reputation. Still not as hard as the various Lunatic/Maddening difficulties of most modern Fire Emblem titles; Shadow Dragon on Merciless, or Radiant Dawn's Maniac mode. But it's a lot more annoying and tedious than it is hard. Though I can guarantee one thing; Ike isn't the map solo Chad anymore as a result of the new level design.

I definitely agree, I’m not actually sure if it would be possible in PoR’s maniac mode. If I had access i would definitely try it out. I’ve played through multiple FE games hardest difficulties, not with a challenge like this though. So I know what you’re saying is true. I appreciate the comment by the way.
