I'm a 12-year-old girl from Myanmar(Burma). I'm the only one who's really interested in British English and has a silly accent in my class. Some of my friends think that i can never speak English fluently. That hurts me. But when i saw your videos, i just realized that i could try My Best to speak fluent English. Thank you for teaching and sharing us. Sir.

@Athkia Ibnath Many thanks and yes, i often watch harry potter and other brit movies in order to improve my british english and it's working but for my speaking skill, i have to talk with random ppl in discord vcs. Also, you're absolutely correct. Lots of ppl seem to have taken an interest in British english cos of this channel. I mean, he's a wonderful teacher so ofc it's no surprise and his accent is extremely clear to understand. Btw, sorry for replying after a year, i hope everything's going well for you

Yes, it is possible to change your accent even though you're fluent! I have always been speaking with an American accent (the one that we learn in my french school). But these summer holidays, I started meeting loads of british people, and one day I said to myself that I absolutely had to get my accent to sound like theirs. And because I spent so much time with british people, I managed to learn the basics of the accent in one week! Obviously it wasn't perfect after one week but now I go on videos like these from here and there to perfect it, especially videos from ETJ! Thank you for everything Eliott, you're the best teacher ever!

You are truly a very gifted teacher, Elliot. Growing up in Israel, but loving the English culture, British pronunciation has been something of a hobby for me. Unfortunately, here it's considered fake to use it in academia, where I am, so I'm compelled to use the dull American accent in public. But I thoroughly enjoy your fantastic videos!!! And cool glasses, BTW :-) Assaf

You are excellent in intonation. Mandarin is a language that needs precision in tones and pitches. It's useful and interesting for you if you could learn a culturally and geographically distant language like Mandarin...a native language to 1.4 Chinese. It's not difficult because it does not require drilling of rigorous grammatical rules. Start with the pleasantries and you will enjoy it.

Hello Elliot, I am your follower. I am 60, from Quito, Ecuador. I began studying English when I was 30.. .. not so easy. At this point I've got hard times when I talk to speakers who learnt American English (here they make more than 95% of EFL speakers). Since non native speakers have hardly developed an inner natural sound of the target sound, we tend to imitate what we listen to. Then everything goes down a bumpy road. Any advice? Thanks. Sincerely, Roberto.
