We Marathi haven't forgotten it, we still use jawar, bajra bhakri (type of rotis) frequently in our meals. My father in law only eats jawar bhakri at home, never the wheat chapati or roti, and he is fit as hell.

I was posted at southen part of odisha where millets are consumed in Summer in khichdi type food. One of my colleague advied me to add millets to sattu of my child when he was 8 month old also gave me 2 kg. To my surprise my thin boy become helthy(you can say more then helthy for his age) with in one to 2 month, then we reduced the intake of millets also reduced the sattu after doctors advise. So, yes millets are super food.

I did try eating various millets following sridhanya, but i became very week within a week of cinsuming it. Since millets does not have carbs so could not get the energy required ro perform day to day activities. Instead started fasring fr one day per week, it has been extremenly benwficial. Benefits better digestion, anti inflammation and no brain fogging

But by eating Wheat we become sick because it contains Gluten. After becoming sick we are spending so much to hospitals, so by eatung millets you will be healthy, so hence Millets are very cheaper & Healthy as well.. Moreover we have already paid taxes for which governments giving subsidies of billions of rupees to pesticide & fertilizer companies to grow these which hidden cost, if we calculate 1kg of rice costs around 3000 rupees and wheat costs 1500 per kg. So it's very very cheap. And moreover we are destructing natural resources by constructing dams by consuming culture rather we should be in a conserving culture for the future generations to come💡💡

It is not about the efficiency it about money couse you that most of the farmers own 5-6 acre(i am talking about Rajasthan my home ) so many of them take some area on rent which is 30k per year for a bigha which is less then a acre (1acre = 1.6 bigha )and if they do millets they wont be able to feed there family much on the other hand rice can get you 40-50k per acre and weat get you 30k per acre which is not enough but still its better then others

From comments i feel we from Karnataka are leading the millets consumption. Brothers from rest of the states, you can encourage your loved ones as well.. I myself have completely moved out from Rice for last 8 years and dont feel like ever trying rice again. Millets feel so light and energetic.

I am basically from Lucknow Up and staying in bamgalore , I have heard this in childhood ki jowar bajra gareebo ka khana hein and millet consumption in the last two generation is very minimal there ..however in karnataka I have seen south indians are having ragi very often
