1. I have a air purifier with a hepa filter and it works. 2. Don't get a water vacuum. They're heavier and can grow mold. 3. Get a hepa bagged vacuum with sealed system and a hepa post motor filter. 4. Open windows and sliding doors even slightly (you don't need to let all your ac out) when vacuuming and cooking and be sure to turn on exhaust fans in kitchens and bathrooms. A little ventilation does a lot of good.

I got a Xaomi Pro air purifier about 2 months ago, it has HEPA filter as recommended and I change it once a month. And let me tell you guys, it made a HUGE difference in indoor air quality. I suffer from atopic dermatitis and dust particles would make my skin flare up all the time, I also live in an extremely polluted city and oppening windows is a big no no. Since using the air purifier the amount of dust in my house has drastically gone down, before it would take only a day and you can see visible layer of dust on surfaces especially glass desks, after the filter has been on for 8h a day it now takes 6-7 days for the same amount of dust to collect. In general it is also so much easier to breathe in the house now and I dont feel sleepy or nauseated as much any more. If you can, get a HEPA air purifier as soon as possible and you will drastically improve your life quality.

There are quite a few useful tips in this program. The tip to reduce mold growth in air conditioner is useful. The best indicator of mold growth is to look at the blower in the air conditioner. It is good for household members who sneeze or cough occasionally to carry a handkerchief. The best way to prevent the spread the virus is to stop it at the mouth and nose. My kids typically would just put a hankerchief at the table near them when studying or dining. We rarely pass illness to other household members.

Also, HEPA filter is just that, HEPA filter, all kind of other ultra hepa, HEPA silent, etc are all marketing gimmicks.

We use same testing procedures for environmental monitoring in pharma clean rooms. An air purifier may be enough for most people, if you're not extremely nit picky with these things. However, the air won't be truly clean with an air purifier for a couple reasons: 1. To be as clean as clean room, the pressure has to be high inside the room, and it forms like a strong pocket of air which acts like a bubble...it bumps off particles from the outside. This is something homes won't be able to do, nor feasible to apply. 2. Your body is constantly shedding skin or other particles, and most of dust is actually made up of that. In a clean room, this is mitigated from wearing whole body suits, masks and other coveralls. Pharma clean rooms have to change in another room with different pressure to bump off particles, before going into main clean room. In semiconductor fabs and other electronic factory clean rooms, the worker has to go through a walkway where there is a air stream to brush off any other particles prior to entering the clean room. You must do the same procedures when exiting, to ensure no other particles enter when you leave the main clean room.

I wonder if the results would have improved, if the test was done after running the HEPA purifier for 2 hours?

The test results did not say anything about PM levels, I believe that would decrease a lot

Great question! NASA did research on this topic and they have a list of the best air purifying plants, I believe the ones that rated highest are also some of the easiest to take care of.

Don't worry my house air is the same as the outside as I rely on mountain air, open windows and roof exhaust system. Never really used an air conditioner only electric fans.
