I’m a college student, and people all around me have been pressuring me, breathing down my neck. Friends keep sending me links of vaccination sites and asking me. I’ve been avoiding the “have you gotten the vaccine? You should!” questions, but people seem to be closing in on those who are skeptical. I know bc of the political climate of my college, I’ll most likely get called an antivaxxer and possibly bullied. I’ve even heard students around me joke that people who hesitate or refuse should go to jail for “public endangerment” and that collective safety is more important than “stupid civil liberty” bc we’re in a pandemic. I’m not anti vax, I’ve gotten vaccines for school before and were happy to get them. However, those had been tested and studied for decades, this hasn’t even been out for a year. I just want to wait and see what happens, and I should have that right. All of my covid test have been negative, and I socially distance and double mask. Wish I could just be left alone for now. The peer pressure is insane.

phaedra ღ. I salute you. Stay brave and resist. Follow your instinct and not the herd, whatever the cost in friends, family, education, finances and career, etc, as your life comes first. I am 74, in the UK, and have no intention of having this particular vaccine. On a simple lever, what happened to that well-known women's'-rights phrase "My body, my choice" which was so applauded and respected? On a more serious note, what happened to the 10-point Nuremberg Code from WW2 (judging NAZI leaders like Dr Mengele) which basically states that NO medical procedure should be carried out on ANYONE without their permission. That arguably extents to insisting a mask is worn, Then there are international laws on Human Rights - all gone out of the window. All sorts of horrible things have been put into vaccines, often including Mercury, Formaldehyde, Human Cell Tissue (so against my Christian beliefs), etc, so how can ANY doctor, however well-meaning (though possibly mislead), make the Hippocratic Oath not to cause harm when THEY, never mind, you, have no idea what they are putting into you? (Although I think untrained/qualified people are enrolled to give it). Bill Gates gave 500,000 poor kids in India polio with an illegal, untested vaccine and was banned there, facing court action. Similar things done in Africa. IF this is a harmful substance, whether accidentally or intentionally (immediate or potential, perhaps linked to DNA and imposed brain activity changes linked to 5 (G) when set at 60gH as some claim - there IS an agenda to decrease world population if researched), once it is in your body, it cannot be got out. All that may not be so but, with a risk of death at only 1 in 1000, (far less than for normal seasonal 'flu, that having much higher fatality figures every year without all this catastrophic lockdown mess enforced) I would rather risk being one of the 30-35 victims in my town. I'll be surprised if this comment remains, knowing Google/YT censorship. God Bless and Good luck.

@@Nozarks1 I'd love to share your optimism, I truly would. But the reality is setting in much quicker than I could ever imagine. And it's dark. I'm in Europe. I see Spain, Greece and Cyprus pushing the vaccine passport at full speed in hopes of opening their tourism-dependent economies asap (and they want to do that this summer! a couple months away). Denmark and Sweden already announced they will roll out a passport soon. The UK (as a good old police state) has everything prepared to get a vaccine passport out. France, omg.. not only a vaccine passport but they already have an official public list of every single person that received the vaccine (with the green light of the local privacy watchdog, go figure) and there are talks of transforming the vaccine passport into a widely used digital health passport with full carrier personal and medical information. Outside the European reality: Israel, vaccine passport fully implemented. Singapore and Saudi Arabia, very close to full implementation. And of course, and probably the most important one of my side of the globe, the good old EU. Which, of course, already proposed a continent-wide vaccine passport to be deployed as fast as us minions want to get our lives back. This digital passport was already being discussed over the last 3 years, if not longer. And now they have their chance. The US is going to be an interesting case to observe. But sadly, with puppet Biden and friends I think it's going to be in the frontline of this passport. They will use coercion, social currencies, and every single tool they have to bleed every single person's patience to take the jab, no matter how hesitant you might be. You want to enter a store? Passport please. You want to get back to your office? Passport please. You don't want to take the jab? You don't have a job anymore. You want to get out of your country or even get back to your country? No passport? You know where this is going....... Do you really think hesitancy will stop their plans? Israel is a highly educated country. Look at how easy and quick it was to fully implement the passport there. It's done, it will never go back now. Do you really think they won't coerce, convince, push, manipulate the vast majority of the industrialized world population to take the jab? This passport is just the beginning. It will serve as a base for a fully digital economy, with digital identities and currencies, no more paper money, no more privacy, no more freedom, no more escape. But hey, don't listen to me, this last part is pure speculation. I hope not to live to see the day.

Alot of people get sick where they have to be hospitalized and those are the ones we should be doing a full medical examination, medical history, blood work etc.. to see if there are any similarities with specific medical conditions that make them more prone to being sick. We know those with weak immune systems, overweight and past medical conditions but why some without those still have severe cases? More time and data is needed. So don't stress. Relax. Focus on your cells travelling and repairing around the body.

Hi Doc, what exactly is herd immunity? I understand that if a lot of people get vaccinated (assuming the vaccine is successful) or get the virus, they themselves may not get the virus and so the number of cases would go down, but can vaccinated people actually stop transmission? What if a vaccinated person has virus in his body or in his saliva, but it doesn't make him sick, could it make others sick if he coughs near them? Or can vaccinated people not even have virus germs in their body or saliva in the first place? How does it work? And if we get a little bit more broader, what about virus germs on the exterior of vaccinated people's bodies, they could still transmit the virus right? So once again, does the vaccine only provide a personal benefit by preventing the virus to make you ill, or does it also prevent transmission of the germs to other people?

Going to the 95% efficacy conclusion based on the 8/162 cases in the vax/placebo groups. I would like to know how they were diagnosed? Did they diagnose using the PCR test (which is not designed or recommended for diagnosis), and if so, at what CT were the test run? Also, how many of those "Diagnosis" were for asymptomatic cases, versus symptomatic. I ask, because asymptomatic is traditionally not counted, nor considered. Doing so is a relatively new practice (new beginning April 2020).
@roundpeg32393 жыл бұрын
to add to this: if the answers to my questions still support the efficacy conclusion, then it seems the "public good" pressure point is moot, since those vaccinated are protected from infection by as much as 95%.
@roundpeg32393 жыл бұрын
And to add to this, if the vax is a 95% efficacy, then what is it 95% protecting you from: a disease that is almost exclusively deadly in very specific situations (age, comorbidities, etc), is it worth it to take on a vaccine that is presenting side effects that are far worse than the disease for most people? Is it worth it to assume unknown risks of future side effects for protection from what can otherwise be characterize as a mild flu for normal, relatively healthy people? if its not that effective, then why assume any of the risk at all for the modicum of benefit they seem to offer? if it is not that effective, then what "public good" does it provide?

LET'S NOT FORGET THE TUSKEGEE EXPERIMENT!!!And when the side effects(possible rare cancers)or neurological damage immediately (wich already happened) or few years later they going to tell you its because not everyone got vaccinated forcing it on others?. I've read that some docs in my country are recommending people that are getting shots to not workout for at least 2 weeks, any reason on why? Do you know anything about this?

I took the Pfizer 1st shot 4/7 and had only minor soreness. By 4/17 I started experiencing serious dizziness that has lasted two days nonstop. I’m sill experiencing constant. I never had vertigo or balance issues in the past. My BP and other signs are normal. I regret getting the vaccine as no one knows what to do about the constant dizziness.
