Idaho Power uses machines called generators to convert energy from the flow of the Snake River into electricity we can use to power our everyday lives. When you flip the switch, the energy that powers your home or business is generated, transmitted and distributed to you almost instantaneously!

and how did humans realize they could do this? and why these transformer stops along the way, or conversions? There's always a mystery somewhere for us normal people wondering without full on knowledge.

i’m no expert, but the point of the transformers is to transfer electricity more efficiently over long distances. The step up transformer decreases the amperes and increases the voltage to 100,000-700,000 volts. then the step down transformer increases amps and lowers voltage. there is another step down transformer on your pole that again lowers voltage and increases amps for you to use for your appliances

I have this same question. I want to learn how to make electricity or what it takes to make a actual battery or hoe they get the materials and mined them. It really confuses me that if the lights go out, I would go back to wood and fire bc I don't know how to make energy and transfer it to something usable.

@@ojpimpson3343realize this response is late, but hopefully youre still interested. First they made electricity using chemical batteries (certain chemical reaction release electrons creating a current). then some dude that had electricity going through a coil noticed his compass was goofing up, and that started the idea, that there is a relationship between electricity and magnetism, and then came Faraday that showed you can generate current by moving a magnet. So then we started spinning big magnets to create electricity. And all of the other stuff is just optimization, but thats the jist of it, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

thats why University courses should only offer STEM degrees. no more sending kids to study Art, Gender Studies, useless Social degrees, etc when World War 3, or some natural apocalyptic event earthquake, zombie outbreak event happens, People will realize these so called "Leaders" and "Politicians" wont be able to run a country anymore. it will be the nerds, the engineers, the scientists, the bioligists that lead civilisation to to advance. Meanwhile these tiktokers, youtubers, activitists, politicians, will be stuck in the stone age watching the intelligent ones building.

And, how can it affect people's health if used the wrong way? Like, the idea of dirty electricity? Could we feel nausea should we be near high voltage? etc. or misuse of tasers at a lower voltage etc.

#1 - Buy a riverside property #2 - Set up a water powered generator And, within light speed, you got it! Then the local government checks you out and shuts you down for not having a permit.

why are being charged to use it when its practically free to generate it. All we should pay for is things like using their wires and their equipment to get the electricity to our homes.

We are being charged so much for electricity because some people drunk by power are psychopaths and sociopath that see other people as objects to control and not human beings. Life should be alot easier if it weren't for evil crazy people in power.

Generating electricity is not a free process. There are still people that monitors and works at the energy plants while having to add fuel and maintain the process, making sure nothing blows up.
