Amazing to hear Elizabeth asks Lily of her process, particularly as she was pregnant. How does the body recognize the trauma, pain, terror is pretend? Particularly as the doubles were in place. It’s always been a fascinating thing to hear craft people speak on. Thank you for providing these insights!

How does this compare to Candy?

@@zozaeg IMHO i think this is better because things are more nuanced on this show. Hulu's candy is about getting from point A to B to C. I think the contextualization for Love and Death plays amazing and offers the perfect back drop to set things up.

This was an absolutely terrifying scene as others have pointed out…I knew it was coming, but nothing could have prepared me for the experience of watching the actual murder. Fascinating to learn how carefully it was choreographed. I hope Lizzie and Lily (and Lesli) have started making space for the Emmys they will receive. Neither made a false move throughout the series and performed some of the most nuanced acting I’ve ever witnessed.

It's neat how to see how they choreographed the fight. I liked that unlike "Candy", they showed more scenes from before the murder, so that we could forge more of an emotional connection with the characters.

I just finished this show last night & I was in awe, & on the edge of my seat for the second half of the show. Elizabeth, Lily, & Tom Pelphrey (Candy’s lawyer, Don Crowder) were AMAZING! The murder scene was so well done & now thanks to this video, I know why. I also love that childhood trauma & psychology was an aspect of this show. There’s a lot of broader messages this HBO show incorporated, compared to “Candy” on Hulu.

This scene was so so deeply upsetting. It's funny cuz, like a lot of people, I'm sort of used to watching violence on screen and it can be a little desensitizing, but they way they executed this scene, plus knowing it comes from real life to a certain extent, made me so scared for both of them as I was watching it... That's also one thing I liked about the show. It doesn't ask you to pick a side, it was just all so unfortunate. By the time the verdict comes, even knowing the outcome, as an audience member, I wasn't really sure were I stood on Candy. Great show!!

Thank you, Lesli, for continuing to prove sensitivity is an incredible skill and when combined with your astronomical talent can create a workplace that asks for all and painstakingly captures ALL. The arts can be torment, but it sounds like everyone focused to ensure no one was consumed by that torment. Truly incredible to get this insight as someone who has never stepped on a set.

It's funny to me how during the first three episodes I was looking forward to that scene because I had never heard of the story and was interested in seeing it, but as soon as it happened and it cut off to candy walking out of the house I was just like 'I don't think I want to see the full scene'. When the final episode came and we see happened I genuinely felt sick to my stomach that's when my brain reminded me this was something that actually happened someone died and it's been replicated in such graphic detail. Both Lizzie and lily did such an amazing job and they deserve every award they got for the show.

I was hoping that this show would’ve at least attempted to show the scene from Betty’s pov (even though we’ll never know truly) because I feel like that would’ve set it a part from Candy (2022) that did the choreography of this scene much better and far more accurately

Here’s the problem with this approach: nobody knows how this murder actually unfolded. They’re placing some responsibility onto the victim when she literally could have been hacked to death from behind out of nowhere. “Candy” took out the speculation and that was the right call for this actual crime. This was sensationalized for entertainment and that’s just not right.
@camdenpark3302
@camdenpark3302 Жыл бұрын
I think, as the director said, that was kind of the point. This scene isn’t supposed to offer objective truth about the murder but is visually showing what Candy said happened. The show isn’t placing responsibility on the victim, Candy is.

@@olyayaloenglish there was an interview the director did she said this a story that you cant make up and be completely sane, she said she only went off what candy and others said went down which is why alot of the scenes cut off and change so weirdly at times, but she also mentioned candy on hulu made the villian and the hero when truly we dont know wether it happened or not there isnt a ghost following candy around its a sensitive thing we only get one side of the story theres no point in adding biases or our own personal feelings into the mix
