Top ten favorite characters in anime. He gives a realistic view on how abuse can be. He was so blinded by his own motives he let that blind him from his family. He did a lot of harsh things and instead of crying and begging for forgiveness he chooses to show it in his actions. Ever since he learned from his mistakes all he has done is try to get better not only from himself but his family too. Everything that he has does now is to improve for himself but for the betterment of his family. Nothing selfish about him growing. Truly the best and most well written character in MHA

Also, Endeavor has not a sudden change of heart due to some single event and now he is good dad. He loses his path gradually and get's back on track the same way and is still working on it. Often those stories tend to feel like: "Die, you vile vampire! Oh no, you've bitten me. Argh. Bow down pitiful mortals, you only exists to feed me!" and "I've slaughtered humans for centuries but knowing you for 3 days made me realize I was wrong. Now I'm giving my life to save you. May all my sins be forgiven." I hope he doesn't die at the end. It would feel like the easy way out. On the other hand, I still like the thought of Endeavor burning AFO to a crisp by self-immolation. In a sense, if you have to go, go like Escanor!

In my opinion, it would be best for endeavour’s story arc to survive till the end and then retire, giving up the title he worked so hard for, and dedicating the rest of his life to his family, finally putting family first over his ambitions. (P.S Sorry for the big run-on sentence)

If I had to change one thing about Endeavor, it would be his backstory. Instead of his father dying to save a random girl, I would have his father die trying to save him. It would make his obsession with surpassing All Might even more powerful as he'd be dealing with not only an inferiority complex, but survivor's guilt on top of that. And it would also make the scene where Natsuo nearly gets killed by the villain Ending even more powerful as he'd be put in the same position his father was in. Other than that, Endeavor is one of the best-written characters in MHA.

Hmm, I thought he didn't want any child to go through witnessing his father's death, but because of a lack of parental figures, he slowly grew neurotic. As a parent, watching his character is humbling. He probably thought he was a decent parent who had weird kids. Many people think being there or financially supporting a kid equates to good. When it's so much more. You saw him realizing what it is to be a parent. Its crazy. Too real tbh.

@@charminglady2011relatable. A lot of the fandom is pretty young, and though I’m not excusing shitty parenting, kids aren’t a monolith and aren’t always easily understandable even with the best intentions. A lot of the fandom don’t understand that yet. We often have a blindness when dealing with people close to us. I think he genuinely thought that he was protecting Touya when he tried to discourage him from using his quirk.

Undoubtably one of the most realistically written characters in the show. He went from my top 10 least favorite to my #1 favorite. He transforms from someone deplorable into what any man can aspire to be. The moment he recognizes forgiveness may never come is such a heavy scene, and him letting go for the sake of others is heart-wrenching. Endeavor may not be the Symbol of Peace in the way All Might was, but in a way he is something even better: the symbol of humanity. Even with all his flaws, he stands tall and moves forward, taking on the duties set before him and growing

Something that really annoys me whenever Endeavor's arc is brought up I'd that everyone entirely blames him for every single thing, yes everything was tied to his actions but not everything is entirely his fault. Yes he got married and had Touya for selfish reasons, but he never abused Touya during training and took pride in how strong Touya was and even speculated that Touya could surpass All Might even with just fire, it was also Rei that brought up the possibility of having more children. Then when it was revealed that Touya's quirk was harming him, Endeavor did everything he could to try and stop Touya from training, even demanding a fourth child in hopes that it would push Touya into giving up on the dream Endeavor had given him, he even told Rei to not let Touya train or sneak off while he was away, but Touya emotionally and mentally assaulted her at every turn when Endeavor was gone. Endeavor even personally gave Touya other options other than being a hero, he could help society by being a fire fighter, or a cop, there were other ways to help people that didn't require literally hurting himself with his power. But Touya refused at every turn. Shoto even comments on that on his fight with Touya "our family is messed up, but you chose to kill people." Touya had so many off ramps, and yes I get that he was a child-early teens but that doesn't change the fact that he actively refused to get off the path despite his father literally pleading with him to do so. Endeavor did horrible things, that's a fact, and I'm not trying to justify his actions but people tend to ignore the deeper contexts in favor of "oh he's just a dick and horrible person" and that gets under my skin.

@Portal-ht3ubАй бұрын
Preach. Touya is mostly to blame for what happened in the family, yet fans victimize him because he grows up to be a sexy twink they can fantasize themselves with. Its the sole reason everything he does is excused under the son. Let a masculine burly older male character have a backstory like dabi's, and people will say he was always evil. They literally call touya's sexist behavior and attempted murder of shoto a "mild tantrum" "he's just a child! How could you hold him accountable for his actions!?", yet they blame young fuyumi and natsuo for not being his therapists, even though they were also children who didn't grip what was going on. The "he's a child" excuse is always given to touya and not fuyumi and natsuo. Somehow fuyumi and natsuo are adults that are responsible for touya's actions, despite being the youngest siblings. They blame fuyumi and rei for not stopping him and "abusing him" when his sexist rants and verbal abuse proves he don't respect them and wouldn't listen to them no matter what they say BECAUSE THEY ARE WOMEN. These same fans wouldn't tolerate a black man being blamed for not helping a racist with their self esteem issues. His sexist behavior was also blamed on endeavor despite endeavor never showing such behavior towards female heroes let alone his wife. He did commit domestic violence, a crime that can happen to BOTH GENDERS, but not because she was a women who served him cold chicken. This excuse is so that it wouldn't ruin their fantasy. These people who where saying like endeavor's redemption arc is sexist always ironically turns out to be more sexist. Look on webtoon. Bunch of toxic twinks getting away with racism, misogyny, assault, and abuse that gets passed off as romantic. The creator knew he had such a rabid fandom and had to bend over backwards making dabi a victim by having the family suck up to him and take blame for something that he brought on himself. The studio also took out key details that made touya look worse like you said. Anime onlies will see shoto being born to replace touya, and not the fact that he was only born to discourage touya.

I can see Endeavor retiring and becoming a teacher in UA. He'd continue to atone for his sins by educating, guiding, and protecting the next generations of Pro Heroes. He has shown to be a good teacher when he mentored Deku. I think death would be a let down like it's an easy way out for him. For him to continue living and come to terms that he's no longer a Pro Hero but still fights to atone for his sins is more fitting. For me personally though, I don't know about other people lol As someone who has seen bad parents never admitting the shit they did and the effects of it of people I love, the fact Endeavor is trying to atone for them, I like it. It gives me hope that maybe these people I know could change even though in reality it most likely will never happen.

I honestly like Endeavor because he's such a flawed character. When growing up I question myself will I still be a good person and scared if I end up being a bad person in the future. It scare me how will I ever live making sure I won't make stupid decision. When I watched My Hero Academia, my first impression of Endeavor was I disliked him so much, I felt he was the worst and hated character of all time. But as the story progressed I started to see Endeavor in a different light. Endeavor's story, who abused his family in the past, but in the present he's repenting for his actions, also in the end he embraces who he is, including his flaws and willing to continue fighting for the greater good and make way for future generations to come. It makes me strangely happy because I realize everyone makes mistakes and nobody is perfect. Someone like Endeavor made an awful decision in the past and right now in the present he always gives his effort being a hero for justice. Even in history one of the greatest people who impacted today's life turned out to be not so great but some of them at the end of their life they still try to do good. Thankfully right now I still have a future ahead of me, and knowing some of the greatest people also make mistakes (or terrible) they still manage to move forward and do good. Thanks to Endeavor for showing that even the most flawed person in the end still aims to do the right thing and still has time to make up for it and also keep enduring life struggles no matter what. This is just my opinion for Endeavor Also Thank you Plot Armor for making this video, I really appreciated it

3:49 Yeah we can. Before All Might's retirement Endeavor was so sure he has found a way to beat him but because All Might had to give up the title all his efforts became for nothing and now he realizes how much work it really does take to be him. Before it was like All Might was the only hero and the rest were sidekicks but now that he is gone Endeavor has to take on all that work and it's more than he realized. The problem is that they only saw All Might as a poweful target to beat but never realized what it took to be him and why he is so strong. In short, they took it all for granted and now has to pay the price doing everything he does which is way more than what anyone has ever done. The thing is people with power seems to take things for granted because their power is that permeant safety net they can always rely on but All Might and Deku never had that which helps them strive harder for other's. If anything this is more like a game of showing off to many while to some it's a job to take seriously.
@Niver04 ай бұрын
No. Endeavor always did heroic work no less, and even more than All Might. Although he was the number 2 hero, statistically he did more heroic work, this was mentioned. The thing is - All Might in addition to One-for-All was also a Symbol of Peace that in itself united people and instilled in them hope and a sense of justice, a moral aspect - an icon. And Endeavor was just a tool - which worked flawlessly, he was respected, but feared, not loved, but feared. And when All Might lost his power and Endeavor took his place as number one, he felt firstly that his goal was stolen - an honest victory of strength and wandering over giftedness. Remember Bakugou's reaction to first place in the tournament? Endeavor was just as furious, and when that veil of fury lifts, he finally realizes that the top is not just the place of the strongest, it turns out that being first is about being a symbol that will unite people's hearts, and he spent his entire life pushing people away and breaking hearts. And above all, he destroyed his family. And this terrifying realization falls on him with a heavy burden of responsibility and remorse. And he sets himself a new goal - to improve relations in the family as much as possible and become closer to people, to give them a symbol of protection.

There's only one word that perfectly enraptured endeavor as a character and it is "never settle", never settle is the reason he became number 2 hero in the past and never settle was also the reason his family falls apart. Having a high dream is good but i think once you become more and more mature you realize that you'll settle and give up on your dream at some point whether it's because you're married and having a child or other responsibility and endeavor was none of that. He keep going even though he's already an old dad that need to take responsibility of his child. My point is that endeavor's "never settle" personality was also the reason his family fall apart because he's stepping aside from responsibility and instead focusing on his one and only goal to become the number 1 hero

I think Endeavor is fated to die. Either he will stay and continue to fight All for One (which would be practically impossible in his state even with help.. ultimately leading to his death). Or, he will go to Shoto out of concern/realization ... leading him to a fight/confrontation with Dabi (if somehow he is able to get away from All for One) that will result in both of them dying. I honestly see this as more likely to happen. Endeavor wants to move forward from the past, and he has come to recognize that he must face his past mistakes... this means in order to have some sort of closure on the past, he has to confront Dabi in some form.

Never broke my heart over the man's fate personally; the only thing that does is the different paths his sons have taken because of his villainous actions. Dabi's extremism over his father's (perceived or not) abandonment, Natsuo's apathy over his hatred of Endeavor and the pain he has inflicted upon the boy's brothers and mother, and Shoto's need to wrench himself away from Endeavor's legacy in order to justify his birth beyond simply being Endeavor's hero avatar. Three sons united only in their desire to walk away from their shared, hated past; their shared, hated father.

When you say "defeat dabi" what exactly do you mean? In both the cases of Shouto and Endeavor, they've made it quite clear that they don't want Dabi dead. Shouto could've just let Dabi burn himself to ashes, but he created an entire new supermove to subdue him without killing him and Endeavor, in chapter 357, said that he would "keep his eyes on Touya" implying that he would never kill his own son, which should be a no-brainer.

Something I thought of when it comes to Endeavor and it relates to the points you've brought up here. While his whole experiment was terrible.... what if he's not the one who originally came up with it? Follow along on this but, we know the Himura clan, Rei's family, were something of eugenics believers themselves. Possibly to the point of inbreeding. What if, to get some serious capital and influence, they put the initial ideas of Enji trying to make a stronger next gen hero? Right down to some branch members suggesting their family to get what they want. It doesn't excuse what happened after Touya died, much the same that Enji being trapped in the anger stage of grief for years doesn't excuse it. But it does paint a different picture.

If you actually watched the show with your eyes open for once, you'll see there's three times when endeavor hits rei. One, when he shoves her away when shoto was training. The second, was when he smacked her after shoto was puking, and the third time was when he hit her in front of baby shoto and jacked her up. In the manga, he is standing over shoto with a broken stick. Theres a REASON endeavor is trying to atone for his actions and why shoto hates him more than rei. One instance of his mom hurting him by accident, outweighs the years of trauma and abuse endeavor did to him on purpose. You're just as dumb as the rest of the MHA fans.

Real life alone doesn't happen the way anyone wants it and people reading a fictional story get annoyed, even offended, when said fictional story takes that rule of reality: distasteful events can and will happen. You said it yourself at the about the character Endeavour, he's either a complex character or a character that is downright hated and he can actually be both because of the simple fact he is fictional as are the distasteful events that happen. They happen and the reasons are complex as to why or they are downright hated and are actually both.

To me, Enji was driven by Jealousy and it really did shown the ugliness in him, as he wasted his whole life trying to become No.1 and to bred a successor through one of his children just to surpass All Might. Dabi (Toya) also inherited his father's jealousy on his younger brother Shoto, truly a curse fate between brothers to fight each other because of their father's misdeed, neglect and abuse, just to prove an impossible goal. Trying to atone for his sins and mend his family to be better but maybe he should've done that long ago but he was too stubborn to reflect his own mistake. Being a mirrored reflection of Fire Lord Ozai who was inspired from Avatar the Last Airbender through Shoto Todoroki's character arc, Enji was also a horrible father in his own personal lust for power and trying to prove he's the strongest hero... a curse fate he set himself up and created a rift between him and his three sons: Toya (Dabi), Natsuo and Shoto, they hated their father throughout their childhood, not to mention Enji ruined Shoto his whole childhood just to shape him as his successor because of his Fire & Ice quirk, while his older son Toya only wanted to gain his approval and to make him proud to be his successor despite the drawback resistance of his fire, but ended up being neglected as result, if Enji had taught Toya to control the heat of his flames that would've been avoided getting burned but he never did and deem his son Toya a failure. As the villain Dabi after his suppose death, he views his father Enji as a fake hero and his new goal to destroy his hero career as he's no longer to gain his approval after seeing his abuse toward Shoto in their training only reminded him that he's a failure to his father, it shattered him so much that drove into hating him. "You can't change the past. But you can't changed people's memories either" An worse combination of Pride and Jealousy shown the true ugliness through Enji's own personal ambitions, his rageful expression in his confrontation with his wife was a prime example of the ugly part of him as a unworthy Hero in his family and not to the public. His son Toya hated him the most and he was willing to kill his own siblings just to make his hero father suffer, a Cain of the Todoroki family... as Toya slanders on the belief that he will never forgive his father Enji and his jealousy on his younger brother for being born with two quirks from their parents, a ability he never had in his youth but it only motivated into destroy his whole family along with him. In future chapters of the Final War arc, if he dies or survives during his battle with All for One...? It's up to Kohei Horikoshi himself to decide and all it needs is Patient.

Endeavor is the only character in ANYTHING that my opion of at the start of the series has changed later. Like All Might? Did something shitty in the first chapter I hate him with a firey passion same thing with Bakugo. I don’t like atonement/redemption archs since I'm not the kind of person to believe people can change but I do like Endeavor and his arch which is funny since I have daddy issues and the reason I didn't like him because of the fact he's a shitty dad.

As a victim of a abusive household and parenting, I still don't like endeavor For what he did to his family especially to Dabi/Touya including with the way how things are now But at least he's trying but Nobody can escape their past sins, I mean I still don't like him regardless But again at least he's trying.
@Neuviletteiudexofmemes2 жыл бұрын
“Nobody can escape past crimes…?” That’s something only a victim not thinking clearly could say. As soon as someone can earnestly regret their actions, and become the sortve thing person who will never repeat them, they have already overcome the crime. The idea that Karma hangs over peoples heads is only the wishes of those who have been wronged lashing out, and those who have done wrong hanging on to guilt. People change, and if they have fundamentally become a better person, then, in a vacuum, they shouldn’t really even be punished for their mistake. They’ve already overcome it on their own. The trouble is that as a society we cannot conduct ourselves like that. Justice must be blind, and the victims are never under any obligation to forgive, regardless of how much the person has changed. But I object to the notion that crimes are eternal. People are more then their mistakes. They can outgrow them. If they are strong enough.

@@Neuviletteiudexofmemes But the damage is already done to the victims physically and mentally since it's hard to move on sometimes from the things they've done trust me I speak from experience
@Neuviletteiudexofmemes2 жыл бұрын
@@InvestedGman I want to make clear that I understand that, the victims are under no obligation to forgive them. Regardless of whether a person becomes a better person, they are never owed forgiveness. A victim should never feel shame for the scars left on them, or pressure to disregard their pain because the person who hurt them is effectively no longer that same person. But that is not what I was saying. Regardless of whether consequences of their actions live on, the person themselves isn’t chained to the crime, morally speaking. If who the person has become is functionally no longer the one who committed the crime, there is no longer a need to force them to feel guilt, or punish them for the crime. Morally, at any rate. It’s obviously never going to be as simple as that for the victim, though.
@ninkepie37642 жыл бұрын
@@InvestedGman They didn't say its not hard to move on for the victims. They said that crimes won't hang over you forever if you truly do decide to turn things around. On this case its the family's choice on weather they can forgive him or not since they were the ones affected, since like you said, it is hard to move on, and if they do end up forgiving him, then what's it up to the people outside to say they hate him. I know, its just fictional characters but yeah. As someone who is watching the show, I think you should rather focus on who he is now Instead of who he used to be. That's the whole point. He's no longer the person he used to be and the series has shown that the best it could. I'm not trying to disregard your feelings, especially after what you've experienced. I'm just saying that, don't dwell so much on his past. Trust me, if Endeavour never changed, no one would be supporting him right now. We have good reasons to, even if we haven't gone through such things. Even Shoto was able to be on good terms with him.

The only scenario when Endeavor retires that I can accept is him losing a fight to Dabi. While still a lot more powerful, he shouldn't be able to give his all in a fight against his own son. I won't accept if Deku becomes new number 1 by being the most powerful hero. Endeavor worked way too hard for this. I don't read the manga, but Deku should in my opinion remain weaker than Endeavor till the end (unless we get some time-skip of a few years). It only makes sense for Dabi to defeat Endeavor by playing on his emotions (althou I hope Endeavor survives), and then for Shoto to eventually defeat Dabi. I'd be so mad if Todoroki's family issue was resolved by Deku and not Shoto. But I'd also be mad if a 16 year old boy was more powerful than a veteran workaholic, who with determination and workaholism alone resolved more cases than an equivalent of Superman.

This is why when people say Goku is a bad dad but say YUJIRO HANMA and ENDEAVOR is cool I always reply with huh? Sure Son Goku has flaws and imperfections but the thing that makes him cool in my eyes is he has always been who just does things to be better NOT A SAINT but not a douchbag either and that is fine to me and him a bad father really? When fact is he is one of those dads where he truly places a strong faith in his sons!!!!and yes he loves to fight and train but in the times of peace where is he either at home or farming!!! it aint much sure but I will take it over endeavor and YUJIRO any day. Those two have 0 qualms screwing their sons or family over in a heartbeat. Hell Yujiro even beats Baki to near death on daily basis just because!!!! Endeavor is no different but those GUYS are cool while Goku gets boos???Really now???? Look if people like endeavor or the archetype of YUJIRO I respect that but to me I will never understand it !!! To me I rather have my dad or someone who has unhealthy doze of faith in me the way Goku has for his sons even placing the entire verse in there hands case and point Gohan and Gotenks who where kids for both Cell and Buu saga as Gohan was just 17 and Gotenks was still a kid!!!!Too much faith??? Yes as it was suppose to be for adults. Hell Vegeta even said later on along the lines of DO NOT DRAG KIDS into this fight with Buu Kakarot!!!! I rather have a dad who has faith in me than a dad like endeavor or Yujiro who will screw me over at every turn!!!!

In my opinion Endevours arc is already over. He has done all he can and dabi has also given up. That light probably means a quirk awakening which could lead to some form of regeneration for the eldest son, This could ultimately means that the flames of death are coming for the man who wants to live forever in order to make sure the man who wants to atone for his wrong doing can contuniue to do so and live for his family.
