The fact that AC NEVER ONCE had a historical figure playable and the first time they ever did it was for the single black guy in feudal Japan does come off as odd to me. (Specially since we've had black assassin's creed leads before, but never an Asian man).

That's still being investigated, and many *actual* historians are still arguing whether he can be "officially" called a samurai, as he was definitely a retainer (who were almost always samurai) and Nobunaga, along with others would've treated him similarly to how they would've treated a samurai. Plus, Nobunaga was never a fan of following rules and tradition, so the idea of him making a black foreigner a samurai is not too out of place.

He most likely did not exist. The only source for his existence is Jesuit missionaries and they have been known to exaggerate. Oda Nobonaga, the person he was supposedly trained by, never wrote a thing about him. Oda was the guy who wrote poems about literally everything, including mundane stuff like the nice sake he was having, but not a man who supposedly freaked the Japanese out because they thought his skin was dyed? Also, supposedly Yaskue was a samurai under Oda and was taught to be fluent in Japanese, things that take years of training to accomplish, three whole months before Oda was assassinated. Basically, he might have existed as a Jesuit slave who spoke broken Portuguese, was shown off to some Japanese people, and then left with the Jesuits who then embellished the story to include Oda to increase their standing back home.

Games, especially UBISOFT GAMES, go on sale relatively quick. Right now Mirage is 50% off and the Deluxe Edition of Valhalla is 80% off. If you got a problem with the price, just wait for a sale, the game isn’t going anywhere. 3 Day early access is a joke, but again, nobody is forcing you to spend an additional $40 to play early. These games are already bloated so I personally don’t care about missing out on an extra mission. As for Season Pass, you’re paying more for more content. Again nothing new. DLCs & Season Passes have been in the industry for over a decade. I don’t know how much content it will contain, but once again if you don’t like the price just don’t buy the deluxe or ultimate editions.

For one, he wasn’t just a retainer, he was a body guard of Oda and had a rank of Kosho, which is equivalent to a squire to a knight. The word samurai means “to serve”, but the word samurai, was not widely used in ancient Japan. Then, Yusuke was mentioned in the battle of Tenmokuzan, was there at the “Honnō-ji Incident” ambush of Oda, where Oda took his own life, then Yusuke carried Oda’s head to his son, who was also ambushed, and Yusuke got hurt. Was treated in a house called Jesuit. How vague is he really? Cause I got a lot of details. He had his own land, had responsibilities much like a samurai, and if the information is true that, he was in charge of carrying oda’s “tools”, that’s a high honor. In modern context, he was not a samurai, but he is depicted as “robust, black as a bull, and of fine character.” and can fight. Oda enjoyed conversations with Yusuke and again, was a body guard. A body guard is to protect his lord, which means, if Oda was in a fight, he was there.
