Funny enough that's what I'm doing to the Trails of series. I beat Cold Steel 1 and put 20 hrs on the 2nd game last year. Bought a Steam Deck and beat Trails in the Sky 1 last month and put 40 hrs in the second game so I could finally start Trails from Zero. Still got another 40 hrs and the 3rd game til I can start Trails from Zero.

They even have new battle stances animations, new move animations where THANK GOD the beam attacks are coming from the MOUTHS or hands, they FINALLY got rid of the flying battle animation idle poses from gen 6 (REAST IN PEACE BITCH), and you have three stories to choose from, open world it's finally evolving after all this time.
