Now, DoorDash needs to fix it to where we’re not cheated by a dollar on stacked orders. A lot of times they’ll piggyback the tight wad with the good tipper. It’s not fair to the well paying customer and most importantly to the drivers.

Do you get a lot of customers who don't tip at all? It would never cross my mind to not tip someone. I used to drive for Uber, back in the days before the in-app tipping was put in. Unfortunately, Uber itself had given people the impression that 'the tip is included in the fair,' and NO ONE tipped. Some nice people would hand you a little cash. Even after they put in the tip button, people would say 'I thought your tip was in the total already! Why should I tip you twice?' All that for destroying my car, and having weird drunken men try to grope me. Dropping off a box or bag of food sounds much nicer. lol

I started Dashing after all of this controversy so this video for a recently experienced Dasher is...Well, that's how it is. But I can totally understand why this angered people. It's like if you worked at a restaurant and that was how the owner paid your salary. Yeah, that would totally piss me off too!

Oh, believe me... they tried it! I'm not sure how restaurants pay servers these days, but back in the day, restaurants were allowed to pay a ridiculous minimum wage (we got $2 per hour!) BECAUSE they knew the server was going to get tips. Working for other people is rarely good for the employee.

Just finished up my second week as a Dasher and their new base pay+ customer tipping = your earnings is FAKE NEWS! Door dash is still very much using customers tipping to fulfill their basepay in 2020!! This was my one of my trip: Baspay at time of accepting order $9.00 (include a peak pay of $1.00) Customer tip:$10.00 - which I do not know until I delivered the food. What I earned: $14.00 How it got broken down to me: Tipping $10.00 Peak $1.00 Basepay $3.00 Call it what you what. DD used tipping to payoff base pay. DD reduces my basepay. What I though I should have got at $19.00 turned into $14.00 only.

The amount they show you when they show the offer is not just the base pay. It's the base pay plus tip. You actually got more than was offered when you accepted the offer.

I just wrote a comment above about extra money showing up every time I go to cash out and I haven't quite put my finger on it yet but here lately every time I go to cash out it seems like there's 10 or 12 more dollars on my pay than I anticipated or can go back and track by looking at my base my promotions and my tips It's weird but it's likely That they have changed the tipping policy and they are giving it to us It's just not showing up on the itemized list somehow or something I don't really know but I'm trying to figure it out because after every - Dash I look at everything and add it all up and I think I'm getting a certain amount but then there's always extra, quite a bit more than I thought at the end of every payout Has anyone noticed this at all? And I just started to feel like those were the tips, or extra tips that had come in or something I don't really know. someone please let me know if you guys experience this?

I noticed sometimes ill get a order that looks like a realy good pay but it dosent tell me it 2 orders and it be like one is 8$ the other one 3$ so it would show 11$ delevery and something woth 4 miles so i click it then realize its one bad pay its on my route but still a hit more drive i think they should allow you to view were your exacly delevering and exact time for each order becuase i woild get 2 orders stacked were one would be on time amd the other one was already late so i get a late order maybe one that was bouncing around cuade no one would take it and that were you gdt that good high pay not realizing your getting a bounced order that was low pay. Bummer once you accept it 😕 but so far so good i lerned alot thanks to your videos bro. And learned alot since i started dashing on my own. Thansk for the informatative content bro 🙌

Also check the order request screen to see if it's a stacked order, if so it'll say "2 orders". Other stacked orders come through in the traditional manner, 1 request - accept then a second request - accept.

Base pay doesn't go by time or distance. Just Desirability aka rejection. I have seen offers6 12 miles total distance at $3. The most dasher reject the higher the base pay go by 25 cents. That wgat they say in the contract but they don't follow it.

Just started dashing in may , did not know they were taking part of your tip towards base pay? What a rip offf🤷‍♂️🤯😮. Many nights now when it gets busy they add a $1 it says thanks for dashing ! It’s really busy in your area so you’ll get an additional $1 til a certain time ! 4th July was crazy did $219 in 7 hrs so almost $30 hr !

Your Driver Mike no they’re not! It’s been very rewarding in my area many nights if it’s gets busy they add an extra $1 even if there’s a promo going on! Like last night it was $2.50 promo but they had 2 separate bonus going on $1 extra each so $4.50 plus the normal $3 plus tip 😝😎I delivered some ice cream last night ( I always bring my cooler) door dash paid $5 & peak pay $5.50 and no tip so $11.50 to deliver ice cream like 3 miles away! Does door dash increase the offer when it’s not filled?🤷‍♂️

Good Video! Do you think base pay could change based on promo pay (peak pay). For example, if base pay is $3 for an order and peak pay is $3 you could get $6 per order (plus tip) versus $2 base pay when the peak is higher at $4. In this example the pay is the same (+/- tip) but the base pay is lowered. I am curious because I sometimes notice that when peak pay is higher, I end up making around the same. I know that sometimes this also has to do with volume of orders as well and that more people are dashing when peak pay is higher. Thanks!

Great video I appreciate the breakdown!! I dash daily and find that when the promos are on it kills the chances of being really busy. Lately if there is say a 4.50 promo the orders stop and or are very few. I guess this is a flood of dashes? Is there any word on if they will.change or remove the promo altogether in the future?

I never have seen any "challenges" yet... That would be pretty awesome though if my market area started doing that. I just started Dashing 6-7 weeks ago, I can't imagine Dashing on that old pay structure. I've made just over 200 deliveries and have had 99% positive experiences with DoorDash. I am mainly a lunch hour dasher as I work my regular full time job during the supper shifts.

We can't see the exact per mile/per minute payout but this is generally what DoorDash says, "This will range from $2-10+ depending on the estimated time, distance, and desirability of the order. Deliveries that require Dashers to travel a longer distance, that are expected to take more time, and that are less popular with Dashers will have a higher base pay"

Jajaja today I worked 6 hours and made 7 deliveries I got in total 60 $ I think this app is going to the toilet for dashers and to the heavens for the owners I think they are Indu they will get you dry I know already what's coming I recommend to try it if works for you great but if u see you are not getting at least 80$ in four hours something is wrong think about it ha and one last thing don't do deliveries for less then 10$ all the rest are not worthy for you

Pay taken out how? So the amount that you see on the order request screen includes the expected tip and is the minimum you will earn after completing the order, sometimes it will be higher.

Your Driver Mike I live in a old ppl district depending the town could range from 15-30 off rip . Inner city they’re cheap so you could get a Bs batch with no tip ( obviously I don’t go for those ) or they be like $11 but the miles don’t add up to do so . ( unless the order is small then I don’t mind it )
