I was a private teacher from 2009 to 2017. At one point started specializing in dyslexia. My work involved having the kids walk on a beam (2x4 on the floor) using different patterns ( forward backwards sideways etc)I also placed colored discs on the wall and had kids reaching across the body to touch certain plates. There were many other activities that tried to address dyslexia. I am so interested in the Melillo method. Grateful for this research and understanding about the brain.

Thank you! Your research is incredibly important to our society. My son was diagnosed with adhd at age 7. It had been frustrating and disheartening to find a lack of helpful research on the topic. This information gives me hope in helping my son understand himself better and also give him help.

Gotta say. I'm a retired nurse who worked closely with children my whole career and their mothers. Have a special place in my heart for the disenfranchised but I would have to rewire my own brain to make myself most effective in serving this population.

Slowing down the overactive side is so important, which can actually bring changes but how to silent the left brain, will only stimulating the right side will do the job?

Wow! This has such implications for children who grew up in chaotic environments who spent their formative years attending to fear and survival rather than developing skills that would usher in healthy adult life. And dear God...those poor souls who spend their first months and years attending to the pain of withdrawal from drugs they were exposed to in utero. We need to get the word out on this. For Heavens sake. No that. FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE.

A version of this was used in the UK in 1960s. The person i know was visited as a toung child with probable autism/ learning difficulties by a practitioner nurse who moved him as a child in opposite coordinated ways. His mother then had to do it for hours each day. He worked in a factory all his ljfe. Lives at home with his mum now at 61 and is a depressive and no social life or skills...maybe this might have helped him more...fact is...brain Nd moveme t isn't
