Since it’s basically one letter switch plus x from tiger that’s how my friends and I always pronounced it growing up until Iceborne. We also used to say rathian closer to like wraith-Ian instead of wrath-Ian, but that one makes less sense now since rathalos and rathian are both wrath’s then

Did you know that Zinogre can not become exhausted while supercharged? His enrage is also separate from his supercharged state, so while he can be both enraged and supercharged, he doesn't have to be enraged to be supercharged.

I'm so happy they introduced the exhaust mechanic it's such a great on honestly needed mechanic even from a immersion level, they would get exhausted overtime, it's even better when monsters can have interesting interactions with the stamina like zinogre being able to avoid it in the super charge state or deviljho getting defence down in the older games while he was tired because he was drooling

Is it exclusive to Zinogre? I know multiple monsters have pin attacks like that, but idk if theirs are tied to their exhaustion or not. For example, I know from experience that Great Jagras can rarely pin you, and I think it does a small amount of damage, and if he does it multiple times he will become inflated as he does when he eats. Is that attack tied to his exhaustion in some way? side note, also noticed that this pin attack is not listed on the wiki, but I've seen it myself and you can find other people online discussing it so it def exists

My favorite part about exhaustion is how it can lead to bait and traps. I remember once I was in a neck and neck timer race and just laid down some tinged meat out if desperation. Right during a zone transition, the effect took place and the flying wyvern fell out of the sky. After so many hundreds of hours across Freedom Unite, GenUlt, World, and Rise, that was the FIRST time I ever got it, mainly because I'd just thug it out against deviljho and never quite figured out when to use bait otherwise.

@@MahnsterHunter from my experience with the like of deviljho: i used meat several times and i think he only ate it once, monsters get enraged more often in world/rise due to things like clutch claw or damage thresholds, when a monster gets enraged their exaust period just ends now so they just ignore the meat, even had it happen where deviljho was going to eat the meat but he became enraged when i hit him so he started ignoring it. I think it might work slightly better in rise due to enemies having less pre-designated eating spots? But i haven't tested thing throughly.
@VTRcomics
@VTRcomics 25 күн бұрын
@@zander2758 I know that in generations ultimate, I fed deviljho about 5 times even though he resisted the 2nd poison bait My guess is that there's an intelligence with whether a monster is aggro'd onto you and some of them probably only eat meat when you're not "visible" to them, such as during searching phases or just after zone transitions. I actually kind of hope the community bands together to make a bait guide, it would be great to see the whole concept expanded in Wilds.

You did a really great job explaining exhaust because I was sure it worked on any attack with big motion value for its weapon type (like the first and last attacks of the blade dance on dual blades). But blessed be the holy exhaustion because, damn, the monsters from 1st & 2nd gens with infinite stamina (hello Tigrex and Diablos). I think exhaustion is tied for being the biggest addition to the franchise. The other one being the backward roll, we HAVE to talk about how it changed the game (in my opinion at least), third being the mounting mecanic.

One minor correction: The yellow sparks signify KO buildup, not exhaust. This misconception stems from the fact that these two statuses are all found on the same moves for every weapon, and while KO only builds on head strikes or under other special conditions, Exhaust builds up when hitting any hitzone, with maybe a couple exceptions.

Two suggestion editing wise if you want though is change background or border to something that doesn't contrast the border or background so we don't notice the border and instead focus on footage only. It becomes a border that blends in to bg if you will in case you can't fullscreen. And don't care about pronunciation if it bothers people it brings more comments anyways everything else is very nice and what I mentioned is minor. Great effort!

I think people say “Tea-Grex” due to Tigrex being spelled similarity to T. rex Other people say “Tie-Grex” due to Tigrex being also being spelled similarly to Tiger This sorta like how “dour” used to be pronounced to rhyme with “tour”. It eventually evolved to rhyme with “sour” due to the two words having a somewhat related meaning.

If standing, it will hunch over briefly. If in the air, it will fall out of it, and if its sliding it will wipeout. Hermitaur: Staggers when in the fortress state Nargacuga(not enraged): Will immediately enrage Diablos(not enraged): topples out of the ground, in World it didnt matter whether it was enraged or not.

I was curious to learn more about how exhaustion interacts with enraged monsters. Monsters can't be exhausted while enraged, for what I understand, but does the stamina resets? If I was near exhausitng a monster and it gets enraged will I have to start from scratch to try exhaust it after enrage ends? Very interesting mechanic but always seemed inconsistent for me because of enrage's capacity to nuliffy it. Wanted to know if I'm understimating it too much as I always thought CAPCOM should change it to be more effective and not so overshadowed by enranging.
@MahnsterHunter
@MahnsterHunter Ай бұрын
If a monster's stamina reaches 0 while its enraged, it will leave its enrage. The exhaustion lasts for a set duration. Some monsters have 60 seconds, others with 90. There are exceptions in the form of altered or super states. Zinogre cannot enrage until it supercharges and it cannot become exhausted until its supercharge is cancelled. A monster enrages but is super close to the exhaistion will have its enrage end once its stamina depleted. It happened to me as I was getting footage against Rathalos. It enraged, I hit it with a hammer upper, flinched, and became exhausted. Monsters regain stamina in different amounts from various methods. It will recover a fixed amount of stamina once the exhaust duration ends. If it eats, I believe the stamina recoveries back to maximum. Even if you tried to stop it from eating and it took one bite, consider it recovered. If you deal the amount of damage necessary to enrage the monster while it is exhausted, it won't enrage until the fatigure duration expires. Likewise, if you dont do any damage or not enough, it will return to normal state. Since some monsters exhausted duration is different, it may feel like the enrage bypasses the exhaust.

When you tested out trap durations on regular and tired monsters. Did you leave the quest or try a different monster for each test? Monsters stay trapped for less time the more they get hit by the same trap. It's pretty common knowledge but I'll ask just in case.
@MahnsterHunter
@MahnsterHunter Ай бұрын
In order to test the individual traps, I entered a regular Diablos quest and dropped a pitfall trap and then a shock trap. Timed their durations and confirmed their effects did not interfere with the other I.E. Pitfall does not reduce shock trap time. Then abandoned the quest. To see the exhausted time, I atarted a new quest, exhausted a regular Diablos and trapped it with a pitfall. They were always 2 seconds off what the database stated. So I did 4 instances of anomaly quests. I would jump in, remove the qurio, trap Diablos, and abandon. I repeated that just to make sure there wasn't anything strange. To confirm, I tested all of these methods against Rathalos and it remained the same

Does exaust damage only build for the exaust flinch or does it also affect the monsters stamina directly?
@MahnsterHunter
@MahnsterHunter Ай бұрын
When Exhaust is fully built on the monster, it will take a predetermined amount of stamina from the monster and cause them to flinch. The flinch reaction is just affirmation that the effect has taken place. You may see instances where you cause the monster to flinch twice; one from body part flinch and the other from exhaust build up.

@@MahnsterHunter but then why do the monsters have a separated stat for their stamina and one for their exhaust tolerance? Whats the point of the status treshold?
@MahnsterHunter
@MahnsterHunter Ай бұрын
Sorry for the late response. Monsters have their health and stamina values, and their status tolerance values as well. Monster stamina starts at a maximum amount and is consumed to use moves and actions. Lets say Rathalos has a maximum of 800 stamina and it uses a fireball. That fireball requires stamina to use. I dont know the exact number so lets say it costs 10 stamina. It now has 790 out of 800 stamina remaining. Status tolerance is for poison, paralysis, sleep, blast, exhaust, and stun. Status effects require buildup before the effect can occur. All monsters have tolerances which are initial tolerance(the value the monster starts the quest with), tolerance increase(the value added to the initial tolerance after the status effect occurs), and maximum tolerance(the maximum value a tolerance can reach after subsequent increases.) Lets say Rathalos has a value of 200 for initial tolerance to blast. Once 200 blast buildup has happened, the effect will activate and Rathalos' tolerance will increase, making it harder for the effect to happen again. Exhaust is the name of the status and fatigue(or exhausted) is the name of the condition. Think of Exhaust like the blast version of stamina. Once enough exhaust buildup has occured, the monster will lose a fixed amount of stamina as a result and its tolerance to the exhaust status effect will increase. Let's use our example from earlier. Rathalos has a maximum stamina value of 800 and uses a fireball that costs 10 stamina. It will then have 790 out of 800 stamina remaining. If the exhaust buildup reaches Rathalos' threshold, it will then lose 150 stamina. Rathalos will now have 640 out of 800 stamina remaining. I hope that made sense, sorry if its so long.
