how a bowl of pho tastes Christmasy ?

it uses a lot of the same ingredients in the broth that are common in drinks made at Christmas time. Cinnamon, star anise, cloves, etc. This broth in particular, because it doesn't use animal bone stock, so those flavors are even more prominent.

I ate basically nothing but street food in Hanoi. It was very good, healthy (freshly made), didn't get sick, and never spent more than US$2.50 for a full meal including a can of Bia Hanoi🍺 🇻🇳👌. The Bun Cha was especially fantastic.
@Angie.Globetrotter4 жыл бұрын
I always calculate the prices with the beer price - 11 500 Dong for 1 can of Bia Ba Ba Ba or 3 3 3 Brand beer, stronger than the usual light beers, with 5.5 % - some have only 4.3 % . so every meal under 100 000 is ok, all above is expensive. you can get a pair of sandals for 70 000 ! There is a range for 3 star hotels between 10 and 25 Euro a night, the last one comes normally with a lot of comfort like breakfast buffet, fridge, kettle, TV, Air Con (the last two I don't need) and much more. Even the simpler ones have good WiFi in the room. I had a luxury huge room in Hanoi (600 000) with direct view from my window ( 9th floor) down to the train road (or road train) and the whole service was excellent. And I could walk almost to all places. P.S. I'm a bit older so I need my private room and bathroom, and no stinking and snoring and even f... companions behind the curtain ;)

Everything ties to cost of living and wages. As for food, its about 1/3 the cost in US. It used to be 1/10 the cost. Meat and poultry cost as much as in US but fruit and vegetable are super cheap. Prices in Vietnam are different for foreigners and Vietnamese. Vietnamese people are good, but Vietnamese prices are bad for travelers. Travelers usually pay several times more than Vietnamese people. Because Vietnamese people are very kind, they usually raise their prices to the country prices level of travelers. 10GBP is kinda expensive for a day, mostly eating. If you're a local, 4GBP is plenty for the whole day (food only). i can live with 4GBP/Day (3 meals, coffees, drinks, and gas) in Sai Gon. P/S: yes im talking about District: 1, 3, 5, 7, Binh Thanh. Those are the expensive areas but if you know your shit, you will always find meals with reasonable price so no "center areas are expensive" excuses.
@JasonBillamTravel6 жыл бұрын
This is not a video to compare the costs with locals, as in that total I have included accommodation and sightseeing costs. It’s always going to be a cheaper total for locals as they’re not actively doing tourist things, if that makes sense.

Hey buddy I absolutely love your videos, and I’ve seen nearly all of them! I have one question that’s related to your camera if you’d be able to help you would be a godsend! I currently use the canon power shot g7x mark ii. Every time I shoot a video, the quality looks amazing on the camera, but when I put it onto my pc or MacBook the quality looks terrible! Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to take them off on an editing program or something 😩😩😩
@JasonBillamTravel6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, that’s really nice to hear. No I don’t do anything, the quality should be the same. Sometimes when you’re editing the video on a particular software, the quality won’t be very good, but once you’re done and you process it into a movie file or video, the same quality you originally filmed it in will come back. Also make sure you’re converting the file into the highest quality possible when you’ve finished editing. Hope this helps!
