It would be nice if we had a consistent face-off winner. Maybe one of the younger players will be good. On the whole, though, I rather see the deep sea monsters have a greatly improved power play and Kill. Thanks for the video. GO KRAKEN!

Younger players tend to struggle with it at first so it's possible Matty grows into it.

Im here to figure out WHY THE HELL THEY TOSS GUYS FROM THE FACEOFF BEFORE EVER ATTEMPTING TO DROP THE PUCK
@CheapSeatsSports11 ай бұрын
The sad truth in the current state of the NHL is that a lot of it is down to the whims of officials. Sometimes they will even fake drop to try to catch guys cheating and kick them out.

@@CheapSeatsSportsI'm a hockey player who's been playing or watching for most of my life. A lot of centers get jumpy or aggressive on the dot. The fake drops are standard procedure all the way down through high school, as a way to weed out people who are gonna commit a penalty anyways. If a pair of centers keep going at each other, the ref might fake drop to see if he can kick one out and cool it down. Hope that helps!

Lol I'm not new to hockey, been watching all my life. Came here for kicks and oh man I laughed so hard when you said (paraphrasing) "the wingers aren't supposed to touch each other before the puck drops XD. This is why enforcers exist in this game (to a much lesser extent now), the players police the game more than the refs.
@CheapSeatsSports9 ай бұрын
Yeah, saying players aren't supposed to touch each other before the faceoff is like saying you are supposed to get over the center ice line before dumping the puck in to prevent icing. It's a guideline at best, but generally ignored.

I have one actually! It's called "hockey for beginners" I believe, this link should go to it: kzbin.info/aero/PLmVyhgzh40oEEKCs1WqhMaln4dK8jpX4d&si=TnGXsE6Hox3Gc3dp

How many faceoff can happen in a minute
@CheapSeatsSports26 күн бұрын
As many times as play stops, usually they are spread out by the nature of the game but if the puck keeps going out of play for example then they can happen in quick succession.
@RIPJimmyA7X Жыл бұрын
"Why certain players get thrown out of the faceoff" well if its Nazem Kadri, its any reason the ref can possibly come up with at that moment, it doesn't even have to be logical lol

Its not pronounced Yanic Pirrah. It's pronounced Yanic Peroe.
@CheapSeatsSports9 ай бұрын
If that is the case there are a few announcers from when he played that got it wrong too. I double check pronunciation with clips of the players, it's obviously not perfect tho.
@ramymelhem9 ай бұрын
@CheapSeatsSports I just went through dozens of Yanic Perreault clips to see if anyone else messed it up, and each of the announcers pronounced it exactly the same way...Peroe. He's french. There's no other way to pronounce it 😆. There's even interviews where he looks into the camera and says Hi, I'm Yanic Peroe.
@CheapSeatsSports9 ай бұрын
@ramymelhem I wasn't doubting that you were right about the pronunciation, and idk what clip I watched then where they said it incorrectly but I guess my bad for not looking at more to be sure.
