What's funny is that in a couple of years we will have the real map in our hands, so to some this might seem like a pointless task. But what those people don't understand is that this hobby and detective work creates a sense of community so strong that you'd probably have a hard time finding it anywhere else. Besides it's all good fun, so what's not to love?

It is (from my knowledge) only 1.7x bigger than the GTAV map. That isn't SUPPPER big but it is larger. And the thing is, it isn't really about how big it is, it is about how good the graphics, models, and other essentials are. GTAV was a VASTLY open map, just like RDR2 and RDR2 was, and still is, an amazing game. GTAVI will be the biggest game of the decade. @@SnrubSource

1:35 Hey it's me! :) I'd like to say that the general consensus among us in the Discord is that the artwork "map" in the background isn't a map, possibly a menu. There's what looks like a hotdog on there lol. If that IS a map, it's not THE map. It would be a very altered, bastardized map. EDIT: Definitely a menu. Rockstar scouted around ~2015-2016. 728 Ocean Dr was a Johnny Rockets in 2015. Definitely not a map.

the "map" in the artwork is just a menu sign. It used to be there in real life too when the building housed a Johnny Rockets restaurant

Whats insane is the rough fan map of GTA 6 just looks like the entire southern end of Florida.. GTA 5 is often regarded as having the most realistic depiction of a real city in gaming.. Rockstar might be aiming for GTA 6 to be the most realistic depiction of a state in gaming.

Never underestimate the power of puzzle solvers lol. Im curious how close it will be by time GTA6 launches. Also i noticed in every map concept, the very north of the map boundary is land. Every single GTA ever released has always been surrounded by water. Could this be the first GTA map with a land border? I dont know how Red Dead works but could it be possible to not have an island map for once?

red dead just has cliffs that are to steep to climb at all the land borders because the map has a lot of mountainous parts. What’s interesting is if you use mods there is still highly detailed land far away from where the border ends. Cliffs won’t work in gta 6 though because it’s not 1899 so planes exist

My best bet is that it probably will be surrounded to by water, they might just not have enough info to properly map that part. Water just seems like the easiest option like in GTAV. I also think they will add more locations over-time though which will be sick.

I did hear the GTA after 6, may not come as soon. Which hints they will simply expand on 6. I do want to see the landmass as a continuation north, and not just an island. Perhaps for the future, you take a train or plane to another large area, expansion pack of sorts. Yes I am jumping way ahead, but it would really make what 6 will be, even greater.

I think it was confirmed that Rockstar originally wanted the map to be a small version of NA but had to scale back. I wouldn't be surprised if they plan to add more locations and additions to the map over time

Haven’t watched the video yet but the title got me interested. Doing something like this is very impressive, but m thinking to myself. Why nowadays so many people want “it” now, why are they in need of the information earlier than it’s ready? Leaking culture is killing the surprise. For me I absolutely love the moment I can experience something out of the blue. My impatience is getting me hyped up for the releases. And since I have almost no informations the chance getting disappointed is almost zero. 🙏🏾

I think that map on the door is just a rough sketch of the actual map, not meant to throw them off I don’t think. All them art works have rough background sketch design on them throughout the years, they always done that. Defo meant to tease the map I think

​​@@JetroYTI believe GTA 5 had to lower vehicle speeds to allow the PS3 and Xbox 360 to run smoothly. Since GTA 6 is going to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X, I'm assuming vehicles will be faster than in GTA 5. So even if the map is 10 times larger, it probably won't feel like it. For example RDR2 felt massive despite being smaller than GTA 5 because of how slow horses are compared to cars.

Within the past year ( primarily) I've heard a lot of ppl complain about the GTA 5 map. I never even considered the empty countryside as being an issue. Personally I enjoyed being able to drive from the bustling city demographic to the countryside for numerous reasons including change of scenery. Once I heard and acknowledged this complaint I actually did however understand that pov. Didn't necessarily agree with it ( atleast not whole heartedly, had my reservations and defenses in mind for that concept) but I could see why some ppl would feel that way. My perspective is diff because I never had even the slightest issue before someone said something about it. And I think the power of persuasion is implemented here. My point being: was that an original thought of yours? As in, did it occur to u that the city was dead ( which is one point I firmly disagree with, Los Santos is literally any thing but dead, prolly the liveliest city I've encountered in a video game, off the top of my head anyways, doesn't even make sense...) and that the majority of the map being countryside is a problem before u read it or heard it somewhere that it was? The reason I ask is because I remembered the 1st time I played GTA 5, and it was incredible. I was blown away fr, it was a lot to take in and the aesthetics for that time period were beyond pleasing and everything about it was immersive.Driving across the map was an amazing experience and the random event along with everything else made me realise that I was playing some thing revolutionary. So my final question is: who the hell played that game back them and actually had complaints about the map? Lol, NO ONE! U know why? Cause it was indeed revolutionary, for its time it was actually ahead of its time, by miles. It didn't become the 2nd best selling video game in history because ppl didn't enjoy the map. And my final point is this: it's easy to look back and criticize a game that is 10 years old, but when did the map actually become a problem? Its not... Ppl are just hyper critical and " pro" gamers put reviews or ideas/ notions out there to get interpreted and eaten up by ppl like u and I. My conclusion: the GTA 5 map was and is amazing, sprawling and full of activities ( especially online), brought to the public once in a lifetime entertainment per generation, and now GTA 6 will be the " once in a lifetime" entertainment for this current generation. So sit back, relax, and if GTA 5 was that dead to u... U must be driving around granny style obeying all the traffic laws and turning the other cheek to gangbangers in the Rancho projects, quit letting those vagos test u ese!! 😂😂. Under most circumstances it would not be necessary, but that long message is filled beginning to end with the type of info intermingled with opinion that if u miss a few parts or possibly even one part, u won't get the full context. And yes I played SA when it first released ( loved it) and if ur implying that it is an example of a more " lively" map that is in no way dead then yes u are correct imo, SA has the ups on gta 5 in that department. However as I initially stated, gta 5 imo is not dead at all by a long shot. SA simply did it better and since it trailed by many years it makes it that more impressive that it did. GTA 4 I played for like 20 mins on a friend's console lol so I'm not well versed there, cant speak on it. Have heard great things tho.

Vice city shouldn't be a massive open world at least not as much as GTA5. GTA5 is so big because of the state of San Andreas, i mean it's meant to have 3 citys. GTA6 and GTA4 shouldnt. i know gta is meant a powerhouse in the open world genre, it usually does too much causing it to have a slightly lower rating compared to games with less options and things to do. So while don't really thing an absolute giant map is great, my opinion doesn't matter as it's gonna be one Of The biggest games Of all Time

it's crazy to think about how big GTA 6 will actually be assuming that I still find parts of the GTA 5 map I still haven't really explored even in 2024.
