silas, you tip the store clerk 2k vnd which is 8 cents. you wouldnt do that in your country, so why do that in vietnam? they probably think you weird for doing that. generally, don't type for that or for food unless it's for services such as massages, hai,r nail, etc. i just want to bring to your attention. have a great trip in VN.

@@silas-brownits not weird giving out the changes to cashiers.. we all do that when go shopping at convenient stores or supermarkets. like sometimes we give them 5k vnd and they have to give us back 2k 3kvnd in change.. and we said oh its fine, keep it. true but also you have to remember the average salary is very low. Using the average hourly rate for this region that could represent 20 to 30 minutes of pay. Getting tipped 5 dollars (equivalent if on 15 dollars an hour) wouldn't be the worst
