Good stuff! I started out running my sights as far out as I could and never felt really steady on target. When I switched to a Tommy Hogg (my first slider) I mounted it as close as I could and I feel much more confident with my hold, and I feel like the bow balances better.

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine kzbin.infoUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

Run mine out just far enough that the ring fits inside whichever size vision corrective lens insert is in the peep: closer to the bow with the larger diameter insert offers a wider field of view; a potential advantage when hunting - further out with the smaller diameter insert gives a narrower field of view with amplified pin movement; a potential advantage for precision shot placement.

Great Video! I’m running the double pin fast Eddie xl. My problem is it didn’t have great set up instructions. Does it make a difference where you mount the sight housing on the slider? I’m shooting a helix ultra 65#, 279 FPS. and am having to twist my arrow for clearance at 75yds and 80 is about the max I can get. Is moving the dovetail closer my best option for increasing distance and clearance?
@InsideOutPrecision5 жыл бұрын
Yeah the amount of distance you can get out of a sight has a lot to do with peep height and speed. If you're already halfway or a third of the way down down on your slider just to be on at 20, then moving the housing down will give you a little more travel. Just make sure to re level your 2nd axis

You're not kidding the instructions were garbage.

i prefer my sightrail out to the end....it makes fine tuning more precise and i feel personally it makes me a better shooter because i focus more on proper mechanics and hold instead of a "good enough" point of view...having the sight pins closer doesnt let you see your precise aim point as well the farther out your target is as it covers more of the area your trying to aim at...in my expierence
@InsideOutPrecision3 жыл бұрын
You can run your sight out the same distance, maybe even further with the bridge lock.

I've been shooting target compound for a little over a month now, and I personally run a PSE Xpression at 27" DL and 45Lbs DW. I have my Achieve XP set one click in, because I really need that feedback, so I went with a 9" bar, I like the zoom factor the most, and I can feel my shots really well with it there. Even shooting a 6x scope at that lenght away, I'm very stable. I have the cheapest stabilizer set on my bow, and I guess it just works perfectly for me. I do worry though that I'll need to push it in for 70m(about 70 yards.) I'll be moving my Xpression up to 60Lbs around next winter though, so I guess I'll just have to suffer through it. I'll have to up it to 50lbs at the very least. Overall I'm very happy with the sight out that far. Even with bad eyes I need a clarifier though, cause I shoot with glasses.

Moving the site in (or out), do you need to re-adjust the peep when you do that? Or do you need to recalibrate your site tape? I’ve been shooting (per instruction) my Fast Eddie all the way out, but am a more novice shooter (3D). If I move it half way in do I need to redo my bow set up? Thank you for all these great videos!!

My thinking is that longer sight plane equals better accuracy. Think of rear sight distance to front sight on a handgun and rear sight distance to front sight distance on a rifle. A rifle will always be more accurate. Rear sight being your peep and front sight being your pin.
@InsideOutPrecision5 жыл бұрын
Its not inherently more accurate. A perfectly still pin that's 2" from your riser or 12" from your riser will hit in the same place. However, the further the pin is from the riser (to a certain extent) the more movement you will see, and its more sensitive to torque. Because of that, a solid shooter gets more feedback from the sight based on their point of impact, thus making it "more accurate".
@BearNDownArchery4 жыл бұрын
However how you hold a pistol to a rifle is very different. You are holding your bow the same way. But now your sight is way out there. Unless you have perfect form this will always be harder to repeat. Esp as a bowhunter. Sometime you have to contort you body and be in different positions to make a shot. This putting a different torque on your bow than you did in the backyard practicing. When the sight is closer in it is more forgiving.
@talisikid16183 жыл бұрын
Not true. In firearms, shorter is just as accurate as long.
@billyatwell8659 Жыл бұрын
I like running mine further out, but it won't fit in my hard travel case that way. I'm debating whether it's worth taking the sight on and off for the hunts where I have to fly, or if I should just run it close enough to the riser that it fits in the case. I'm not worried about yardage, as I am not likely to shoot beyond 60 for a hunt. Thoughts?
@InsideOutPrecision Жыл бұрын
We’ll besides losing distance and being a pain to fit in your case, running the sight further out is less forgiving when it comes to torque. The further out the sight, the more a small amount of grip torque will affect the point of impact

@redoubtranger89034 жыл бұрын
Bobby, I am not a pro so take this as experience speaking. Been bowhunting seriously for 8 years since I retired...I shoot a Mathews Chill R at 70 lbs and a VXR at 70 lbs. I use a Trophy Ridge single pin and a seven pin. From my experience...I always shoot a single pin better, however the shot windows where I hunt are narrow and you have a short period of time to use both the laser range finder and then change the single pin to the distance you want. A single pin will necessitate either knowing your distances based on rock, tree limb...anything...to know what distance you are shooting without using the laser range finder....or...you will need to practice enough to know that if your pin is set at 40 and you think the deer is at 35 you know you need to aim X inches lower without changing the pin. If you have time to do both...laser range and also change the pin I think the single pin is ideal....especially with the ranges you can get on a single pin. There is no scientific reason I should be shooting better with the single pin...may be the bow, the arrow setup or FOC...but I have better sight of target and less clutter...possibly.

What’s your take on the IQ retina technology which is already being copied and sold by Topoint for half the price as IQ? Any feedback on if it’s a worthwhile addition to sights from customers running those sights? Or is that something you might consider a sales and marketing strategy to sell more sights? Kinda like a laser on a handgun past 10 yards lol
@InsideOutPrecision5 жыл бұрын
I'm not a huge fan of the IQ. Just another thing to spend extra time on at full draw that distracts you from focusing on The target. If you spend time developing a consistent anchor point where your peep in center around your sight and your sight is center around the target, you won't have any issues.
@rakkup75725 жыл бұрын
Inside Out Precision super cool , thanks for replying and that’s what I was wondering . Do these retinas speed up the shot process or the opposite? I already need to consciously get on target quickly because of just what you said. There’s already enough stuff preoccupying my attention when I should already be on target, and focusing there before I start exhausting my shot energy causing me to have a heck of a time with my float staying where I need it. (Total run on sentence lol) Thanks for your input, you have a killer channel and a great way of getting this info understood easily. Precision IS a decision!
