Thank u so much for the guidance on proper form I have shot bows since I was 9 but would always pull straight back until I started to watch u and see how u use leverage and your the reason I feel much more comfortable shooting a deer at further distances now because I watch how u push and pull with a thumb release and it has helped me tremendously. Thank you so much Chris

Hey Chris! I wonder if you posted this video after I asked you my question. I met you and Kaitlyn on the practice range at Crystal Mountain TAC. My question to you was about peep alignment on the scope vs anchor point. Then you grabbed your bow from Coop and showed me anchor point consistency is an old school way of thinking. You showed me as long as your pin is centered in your peep, you are good. My pin kept disappearing past 90 in my peep due to me keeping the same anchor point. Thank you again for these pointers and I think this would be a beneficial video for all of us single pin slider shooters in the world today. Keep up the solid work and videos! Thank you.

or you could just draw and anchor consistently. precision and consistency are tied together. either way youre consistently looking through the peep and moving your head around to center the pin in the peep... or you just pull it back and anchor in the same spot and the peep will be lined up. People have been shooting perfect tournament archery scores for a long time. "old school" ideologies worked and still work. There's just only so much technique you can explore with shooting a bow that people start to make up new stuff that isnt necessarily any better.

Okay I have a question I know it's an older video but I'll post it on a few videos to see if I get an opinion , I am going to get serious about bow hunting as I was. just dabbling up to now but from everything I see the guru's say is this " don't sky draw, or raise your bow or down and pull up, put your sight on target and draw , if you aren't able to do this you have too much bow" SO I watch this video and almost everyone is drawing above their targets , I also read that if you draw above your target in competition that you can and will be DQ'd. So, what the heck is the right way or is this like the " don't put your thumb over over the guitar neck but every professional guitarist does it"I am so confused.

I’m struggling at 30 yards. I’m brand new to shooting a bow and bow hunting. I’m dead on at 10 yards and 20 yards. I’m hunting an area where I won’t have many if any shots over 30 yards but I’m still shooting a bit high and left at 30. I know it’s me pulling the shot and I’ve worked on hand placement but does anyone have any other tips?
@florianrueger
@florianrueger 10 ай бұрын
If you are always consistent to the left adjust your sight accordingly. Won't make a difference for your 10 - 20 yard shots. If your 30 is still high shoot 3-5 shot groups and adjust sight vertically to the center of your grouping. Let me know how it's going for you. ✌️

Are you using a magnifier and verifier when shooting distance
@kb198219k
@kb198219k Жыл бұрын
For the truck shoot at TAC The rules are pretty simple - Target is set at 111 yds, measured by our range finder. You must hit the center ring on the target and arrow must be inside out. You do not qualify by breaking the line. You may shoot as much as you’d like, each arrow in the mark is one entry. No magnifiers or clarifiers allowed. Winner will be randomly selected at the end of the tour. Our target judge will have final say on all shots whether they qualify or not.

I think Chris runs pretty true to the hunting scope set up which has one benefit... you appear to aim with a lot less movement which mentally can make breaking a good shot easier
@markst.martinii9635
@markst.martinii9635 Жыл бұрын
They absolutely have a magnifying lens on their scopes shooting long distances. Try and hold even a small diameter sight dot at 70-100 yards and it’ll cover up what you’re aiming at.

@@markst.martinii9635 I only shoot up to 50 to 60 yards and I thought to myself it'd be dang near impossible for me to hit a target 110 yards without some sort of a scope. Im still somewhat new to the bowhunting scene so I figured he had some sort of scope on there. Thanks for the input👍

Why do all compound bow people raise their bow over their head and pull back?
@Peter-T-0x47
@Peter-T-0x47 5 ай бұрын
You tend to see this with hunters a lot because they wind the bow up higher than they can pull back without using a high draw technique. You don't see it in non-compound because the bow is still fairly lightweight at the start of the draw cycle and only stacks the most as you come into anchor.

Anyone can shoot far... you aim higher. Shooting far accurately is what people want to do. And you forgot to mention the most important part of that.. your centershot alignment.. the farther you are, the more left or right your bow will shoot. How did this not get mentioned at all.
