When I floor the gas in reverse on the Sequoia, it did break traction but I reached 30 mph because I didn't have enough room to go any faster. The max could be around 40 mph in reverse.

Gear ratio of reverse gear is 3.746 compared to 4.227 of first. Topspeed in first gear is around 40mph so in reverse it will go slightly faster than 40mph.

Reverse is almost always a lower and therefore more powerful gear than first.

Automatic e39s have a limiter that kicks in around 4500rpm, which is about 30-ish mph.

Hey Ryan, I was wondering if you got your steering wheel airbag replaced under the recall since you swapped in the steering wheel? Just wondering as I am considering getting a facelift wheel but am wondering how I would go about the recall since my vin won't come up for it. Thanks !

I have not yet, nor have I tried! I hear there is a huge shortage of new airbags at the moment.

E39Source I was hearing about there being a shortage when the recall first rolled out, but from what I've been reading on the forums the part is now available. If you call you're dealer they may have it. Let me know if you ever end up trying to get it replaced. Thanks !

yeah my 540i will launch and burn hella rubber in reverse where as In drive I need to hold the brake and lauch lol yes torque is astounding I can only imagine in the M5
