You could have touched grass earlier in Heroes by selecting Team Rose, if memory serves. You get dropped in the Tutorial stage, which is basically just all grass. Assuming you have to touch grass as Sonic though, you can enter the Tutorial Stage from the menu and it drops you in as Team Sonic.

@myonman1 The first level starts with like one second of sand. Starting the tutorial is immediate grass, and starting the tutorial outside of the stories doesn't have cutscenes, therefore (theoretically) less load time. I'm not saying it's a huge time save, but earlier is earlier.

You missed a few so thought I'd add my personal contribution !! Not every game is here but a good amount of them are covered down below !! Sonic 1 Master System: You touch grass at the beginning of Green Hill Zone! Sonic 2 Master System: You go the entirety of Undeground Zone without touching grass, that's 3 acts and a boss! Then you immediately spawn in grass in Sky High Zone! Sonic Chaos: You immediately touch grass at the beginning of Turquoise Hill Zone! Sonic Triple Trouble: You immediately touch grass at the beginning of Great Turquoise Zone........ lol Sonic Blast: This game. So ! You begin in Green Hill Zone.. however. you are situated Riiiight on a grassless path, sandwiched between grass on both sides. You can stand on the trees, which *aren't* grass, so it means I'm not free from Sonic Blast! Same follows through with Act 2, and Act 3 ! Yellow Desert Act 1 has no grass, same applies for Act 2, and Act 2. Red Volcano is also like the previous zone, so Act 1 has no grass, Act 2 doesn't either, and neither does Act 3!! Blue Marine has nothing, for all 3 acts, and Silver Castle is the same. I played the entirety of Sonic Blast for this comment. Knuckles' Chaotix: Isolated Island suffers from the same issue as all of Green Hill Zone in Sonic Blast !! Except 10 time worse because this Attraction is MASSIVE, and that's small for Knuckles' Chaotix !! But then I savescummed until I got Botanic Base as my next Attraction, so that's done with! Sonic Pocket Adventure: You immediately spawn in grass at the beginning of Neo South Island Zone! Sonic Advance: Neo Green Hill Zone starts off with no grass, but you can soon touch grass as you can jump on top of the loops, which have grass on them for some reason!! Sonic Advance 2: Leaf Forest zone, despite its name, starts off with you on top of grass !! or. leaves..?? its dubious but I'll say grass since this *is* a forest..! Sonic Battle: Shadow's fight had no grass, thankfully Rouge's did so I got this done with very quickly! Sonic Advance 3: Took a bit of running through the overworld and playing Route 99's acts, but Sunset Hill was there for all of my grass touching needs!! Sonic Rush: Leaf Storm zone... is it leaves on top of a tree? Is it grass that decided to grow there? moss?? No idea on this one ngl! Sonic Rush Adventure: The Tutorial Stage has grass so that's done with! Sonic Unleashed(Wii/PS2): You're forced to touch grass in Windmill Isle's Daytime Stage so that's done with ! Sonic Colors DS: Hell. I sort of gave up halfway through with this one, the burnout was VERY real ! So I took a bit of a break !! researched a bit, played more, more, more, powered through the burnout and got to Planet Wisp ! I was sure that this would be easy and that I'd finally finish the Colors DS section but. nonono, it took so long!! I eventually got out via a technicality, that being those weird plant things that bite you whilst you're using Drill? Yeah they have these leaves with small flowers peeking out??? That sounds pretty much like grass to me, so after much blood and sweat, death and despair; Sonic Colors DS was done with. never again. Sonic Rivals: Forest Falls ! Enough said I feel. Sonic Rivals 2: After Blue Coast Zone, you know what that is? Yeah, its Sunset Forest Zone !! Very grassy, hard to miss. Sonic 4 Episode I: Splash Hill is grass galore, I'm fine !! Sonic 4 Episode Metal: Honestly made me really appreciate Sonic 4..! the journey back to Splash Hill made me learn the engine in ways I simply wouldn't have had without playing Episode Metal, and it was a lot of fun !! Sonic 4 Episode II: Same thing as Episode I before it, except the zone is actually pretty now..! Sylvania Castle surely was A Zone ! Sonic Generations 3DS: On the completely opposite side of the spectrum??? Green Hill Zone, not much else to be said..!! Sonic Lost World 3DS: Windy Hill Zone might be in the Lost Hex but we all know its just Green Hill again, which actually makes me glad this time around ! Sonic Mania(Mania Mode): Green Hill is back and yeah that's about it for Mania ! Sonic Mania Plus(Encore Mode): Saaame applies for Encore mode, except Angel Island's the one who's back ! Sonic Forces Speed Battle: Honestly I shouldn't even had included this one but I did include literally every other handheld version of a main Sonic game so it felt wrong not having something for Forces, but I managed to go on Green Hill Parched Palms so yeah got to touch a bit of a grass! Sonic Speed Simulator: You can immediately touch grass the moment you spawn in World 1 and navigate to the pathways! This was Painful and I'm never doing anything quite like it again !!

I would say you missed some of the big ones, but honestly you touch grass almost immediately in CD, Advance 1 & 2, Rush and Rush Adventure. At least in Advance 3 it takes 3 levels and a boss until you get to certifiable grass.
