The problem with the Flash is that the writers at DC are not creative enough to make use of the Flash's full abilities. He is so overpowered that he could take out every villain in the universe in a fraction of an instant, so they have to de-power him just to make the stories interesting. However, it gets to the point of absurdity when they have the Flash get taken out by something as simple as someone sticking their leg out as he is running by and tripping him. It's lazy writing that ignores the most basic of the Flash's powers.

One thing that has confused me is why the Flash eats so much, doesn’t his energy come from the speed force? But a theory I have is that the speed force gives him the required energy to use his Flash abilities, like running incredibly fast, while the energy he obtains from food is used by his body to heal wounds and sustain itself when he isn’t using his powers like a normal human, as well as keep his body strong and in-shape. (Because running faster than the speed of light is probably going to inflict just a little too much pressure on your body) This way, he would still need to eat plenty more than an average person because of certain things like his speed healing, but he most definitely doesn’t need 237,000,000,000,000 calories, the speed force will cover most of that.

Things people in the comments got wrong: He isn't underrated in movies or shows, he simply is still learning. Just because the flash is faster than instantaneous, does not mean he is omnipresent. If your omnipresent you don't have to travel, you were already there, and you always will be. In flashes case, he is still traveling. Just because he moved faster than instantaneous transportation, it does not mean he can beat everyone in DC. Omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient people can still beat. Though the story does not make it clear where the Flash is in the universe when he starts running, the distance of the Earth/Moon system was used as a minimum. In all actuality, he was most likely much faster than the final speed shown.

You said they live on the edge of the universe so the minimum distance between them and us would be the radius of the observable universe, which is 46.5 billion light years, or 4.4x10^26 m. I divided that by 5.39x10^-44(The Planck instant in seconds) because of speed=distance(radius of the observable universe)/time(Planck Instant). After that, I got about 8.16x10^69 m/sec, which I then divided by 299,792,458 m/sec(speed of light in vacuum) to get approx. 2.723x10^61xC, how though? what'd I do wrong? The speeds were vastly different.

Karl Betcher A few things. Firstly, the DC universe is confirmed to be at least 100 trillion lightyears in diameter. Secondly (and more importantly), while the _initial race_ started at the edge of the universe, the Flash didn't bet the Gamblers he could make it back to Earth before they could until later in the comic after a significant amount of racing had already been done. We don't know where they were in relation to Earth at that point. We only know the Flash ran from some unknown point in the universe to Earth before the Cosmic Gamblers could teleport to the same location. The calculation I used proposed the Flash at least ran the distance of the Earth/Moon system, but in all actuality, it was probably more distance than that. We just don't know how much.
