Hello, my Imaginary Friends! Tyler here with a quick addendum: Some viewers have expressed concern to me that this video does not properly explain how Apokolips (Darkseid's planet) seems to exist both inside our universe and outside of our universe, depending on the story. This was something I promised to address in the closing part of my previous video, and although I did run out of time on this one, I feel like I provided you with the tools to uncover the answer for yourself. But for those of you who don't like guessing, here it is: Darkseid's planet, Apokolips, exists _outside of reality_ just like he does! Meaning that it naturally emanates lesser copies of itself into lower realities just like everything else in his realm. The Apokolips you see _inside the universe_ is an emanation of true Apokolips just like each universe's Darkseid is an emanation of the true Darkseid! Cool stuff, right? And they are called "emanations," not "avatars." Darkseid's "avatars" are just _even weaker_ clones that each emanation of Darkseid is capable of making, and they run errands for him when he needs to be in two places at once. Ya know, that's a very good point I hadn't considered before. It would account for the fact that the only entity prophecied to kill Darkseid someday is his own son, Orion. Not Superman. It can't possibly be Superman because the character who is the ultimate good would not remain the ultimate good afterwards if he killed. In fact, he would only be on his way to becoming more like Darkseid if he did. Since Orion is his son, he already is like Darkseid in the first place. He's been wrestling with his duality his entire life. Therefore, it wouldn't break the laws Jack Kirby established of Fourth World Platonic archetypes if it's Orion who is Darkseid's executioner whenever they meet in final battle . It also fits nicely into similar real life religious principles that are prophecied. Such as Thor and the World Serpent in Norse mythology. We even see it in Christian-Biblical lore as well. In Christian lore, it is Saint Michael who ultimately defeats Satan in battle at the End of Days because he's a lower ranking angel in the Heavenly hierarchy. It is Michael who is prophecied to triumph over Satan since Lucifer's deadly sin is his Pride. God will use one of his lesser creations to defeat the devil for no other reason than he has more humility than Lucifer. Who better to humble a warrior seraphim who once deluded himself into believing he'd become his divine creator's equal? Think about it... If God himself is who fights Satan at the End of Days, he would only be validating Lucifer's belief that he was indeed his equal since it obviously requires the power of the Infinite to stop him. Thus, it must be an underling who vanquishes the braggart instead. Thanks for pointing this out. That one statement you just made opened up other avenues of exploration in my mind that I hadn't realized I was ignoring.

If Morrison really did base Darkseid on Saint Augustine's explanation of evil, or "the failure to live up to goodness," that explains why, on the Multiverse map, next to Apokalips is the label of "The Pitt" while the label next to New Genesis is "The Pinnacle." Apokalips is the pitt, the lowest point of goodness; in essence, evil. Meanwhile, New Genesis is the pinnacle, the highest point of goodness.

Nobidy ever got Darkseid completely right after Kirby. His Darkseid was not a deceiver. He did many other wrongs but he always voiced the truth. His purpose as a character was to represent literally the dark truths in life. Sometimes he appeared in stories just to give key commentary to the reader. Kirby used him not just as a villain but also as a mouthpiece sometimes.

If darkseid is but the absence of God, and we are split apart from God until Judgment Day, darkseid is desperately trying to cut us off from God. He cannot break the link because he is not as powerful as God, so he tries to hide God from us and crowd out the light of God from our soul. In other words, this event claims it'll somehow remove all other SCP's without the other SCP author's conscent which to me I find that to be a little stupid and also unfair on those writers. Like, the writer of SCP 457 for example, aka the burning man could say that when day breaks it wouldn't effect him and that'll be a fact that we'll have to accept since it'll be coming from the author of that scp respectively and therefor should be treated as factual. And then we have to consider that for like, all the other SCP's that exist which as you may know there are literally thousands of them so now you see why I find the whole "When day breaks" thing to be a load of bogus.

Jack Kirby was frustrated at Marvel. He was doing more than half the work and getting less than half the credit. Work for hire, no royalties. He wanted to create something wholly his own. So he defected to the Distinguished Competition. It was still work for hire, but at least he got all the credit. Thus was born the Fourth World. He started on Jimmy Olsen, a failing title, and revived it. He used that to launch The New Gods, Mr. Miracle and The Forever People, my personal favorite. Darkseid wasn’t meant to be the featured character, just one of a much larger cast. The contrast between Orion and Scot Free was supposed to be the featured article. But Kirby had created an icon. To describe Darkseid as a “villain” doesn’t do justice to the concept, and I feel you’ve captured the idea well, Tyler. Thanos was created in the image of Darkseid. Anyone can see that. Shadow15k Ryans Actuakky when existence ends (and we know Death claims similarly abstract concepts like her siblings as well as time) rather outside of existence is the Void which we know to be pure whiteness. We also know that Death exists both in the marvel universe (thanks to the Death of the Endless respect thread for the info) and exists in Lucifer’s new reality. Both places Darkseid, as far as I am aware, is not present in. So she very clearly isn’t bound to him and can step into the void. We also know from Deaths various statements, including that she is as all knowing as Destiny but chooses to ignore that information and that Destiny himself is supposed to be the last person, barring time travelers, to die, we can surmise that if Darkseid was going to be an exception to this rule it would have been stated There have been several times that even her own siblings say she would be the last thing to exist. Finally while Darkseid is “nothing” which you say space and time is made up of the Void is infinitely vaster than Darkseid (the void as I said being that bare white nothingness.) so its not as though Darkseid is truly all encompassing. We also never see Darkseid manifest at the end of the universe, an event we do see in the comics via the Book of Magic (the issue when Timothy Hunter and Mr. E travels to the end when Death claims Destiny) so if he was alive or in existence then Destiny would have said something so would Death and so would Darkseid. Finally in the Death Gallery Book we see Death actually lock up the universe where there is again no sign of Darkseid So with that all said I see no reason that Darkseid would avoid dying. If he IS the DC universe or space or whatever than he does clearly die since Death claims the multiverse. If he isn’t that specifically why don’t we see him at the end of it all? Why is he never mentioned as an exception? And clearly Death can go places Darkseid cannot sewing as he has no presence in marvel or Lucifer’s private realm he created

A confrontation with another being would trigger this, and a confrontation with more would just make it more intense.This happens due to intimidation or fear. All sentient beings are capable of feeling, so I am not surprised that a wolf would do that. Behaviour is conducted by many factors, and sapience is not needed to have one. Things like hormones, innate conducts that is genetically hardwired, pain (damage that is registered by bioelectric signatures that reach the brain), psychological trauma (their brain has registered that something has caused it great pain, and in an attempt to prevent this, it has developed a defense mechanism because all livings beings possess a need to survive, and avoiding pain is usually a good way stay alive for much longer). All of these and more (that I can't mention because It's not like I have a PhD or something) are factors that are responsible for behavior, in both beasts and humans ( I said beasts because we are also animals. An interesting theory, but I have another interpretation. Highfather is in every way Darkseid's equal, the platonic good to his platonic evil. The truce between Apokolips and New Genesis exists because neither can defeat the other, making war pointless. Darkseid wants to break that stalemate so he can finally win this endless conflict. I think his interest in the antilife equation is to remove the capacity for humans to choose good, tipping the universal balance towards evil. If good in our universe is a tiny fragment of Highfather, destroying good in our universe could be equivalent to destroying that tiny piece of Highfather. I think the antilife equation is his plan to break to break the stalemate.

Let's think of this way, superman always represents hope; every hardship he's faced with was tough but he always manages to overcome. There is always hope from every conflict; a hope for resolve or a hope for peace. Based on Tyler's explanation, Darkseid represents a hole, which can be understood as emptiness or despair. As long as there is hope, emptiness/despair will exist. The anti-life equation is just an enhancement to Darkseid's power since he is all about despair and hope is meaningless. This makes Darkseid the ying to Superman's yang, just like how Batman represents Order while Joker represents Chaos. We can say that Batman, Superman, Darkseid and Joker are personified abstracts. If feelings and ideas are considered as abstracts, then they are aspects of the Endless. So in the end, it is the Endless that start the endless stories between heroes and villains, and Darkseid is just part of Despair's creation.

In a way yes but the abstract concepts always existed. In an absence of one thing. The chaos gods were created by humanity, eldar, pretty much any organism with some form of sentience and consciousness. To kill the chaos gods you have to kill all life. Also the chaos gods can't actually interact with anything around them because they are weak in the physical world. They have to manipulate other people in the physical world. hence horus heresy, chaos space marines, the entire eldar.
