I like my roast pork bun saucier inside. I feel like a lot of the bakeries have dry filling and it's mostly bun. Plus the prices have been creeping up. Mom and pop bakeries you can still get a bun for $1.

I love Fay Da! Been going there since HS. My sister and her friends would go to Chinatown on Fridays from Queens. She would bring us a dozen pork buns to eat. I'm glad they expanded to Queens so I was able to get pastries after school whenever I wanted 😅

I live by the Jackson Jeights-Roosevelt Ave one, and I stop by almost every day before work. I didn't try everything yet, but my favorite are the chicken sandwich, the steamed roast pork bun, the chocolate walnut bun, and the pineapple coconut bun. Oh, can't forget the tuna bun, so flaky!

I love coming here whenever I visit the city! I also visit other chinese bakeries, but these have been so good consistently! If you're into the savory taste, I recommend the pork buns (it literally tastes like a soft dinner roll with pork). If you're into more subtle sweet taste, I recommend the melon buns (simply a soft roll topped with a sugar crust), my fav!

@Abel Villa RIGHT. And the filling for the Roast Pork Buns LOOKS WEIRD. Being around since 1991 IS NO BIG DEAL. Many of the CANTONESE BAKERIES in Chinatown, HAVE BEEN AROUND MUCH LONGER !!! In the Cantonese Bakeries, thy still make the "Char Siu Bow" the REAL TRADITIONAL WAY - BY HAND; + you can ACTUALLY SEE PIECES OF THE ROAST PORK INSIDE.
