Faze vs NaVi the Grand Final of the Major was S1mple's worst game at a major since 2018 vs Astralis. Lets look at how Faze targeted s1mple on Inferno and gave him 30 deaths in a single map. It was all planned.

Karrigan is a tactical genius. He is most well-known for his signature tactic "going A, but then winning a 2v5", but he also has a 2nd, lesser-known tactic "going B, but then rotating to A at 20 seconds". What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL 4 sure.

Man, I was watching grand finals of Dreamhack Winter 2013 today and the way this game is played and the thought that is put in it has come a long way. You know what though voo, you missed one incredible detail here. Navis playbook shrunk quite a bit, in an interview during the rmr s1mple said that this was the first time navi had any time to play together since the russia ukraine thing and that he hoped they could qualify for legends so that they at least had a few weeks to practice together before their games came up. If navi had more time to come up with a larger playbook and further antistrat they might have closed that inferno game and nuke could have been closer as a result, the stresd on navi for choking wouldve been on faze on nuke and even then, the decider map wouldve been a 50/50 at best, very likely this match was closed out by navi in a different world.

@@gopro6458 i mean…it is not really an excuse. Their bootcamp was located in kyiv ukraine and navis player can’t go back to their bootcamp to their facilities and stuff they worked on previously to make their plan and gameplay efficient as much as they were when they dominated . It was like 1-2 month without any 5 man practice. Navi when they dominated the csgo scene it’s not only just the individuals but also the preparation have got they this far. And i do think they acknowledge this factor as well. If they lose the major with a lot of their preparation they would have been show players flopping on the table or any kind of massive frustration. The reaction i saw on the navi vlog and live were feels. ‘Yeah that’s it” And it wasnt suprised at all. Ofcourse faze does counter navis play perfectly. Because they have navi as benchmark. Considering their struggles through team spirits i do think that the thing that make they win the major is the weakness of navis player when they have less preparation and their own preparation. Dont get me wrong. Faze is “now” the best team and Navi is still a “Scary” team Great counter strike games we have witness. Plz stop accuse any comments you dont agree with that kind of word. Peace

With that last round before OT, i agree that s1mple actually made a pretty smart decision. just got unlucky that ropz did something that probably no one wouldve expected. in ropz's head s1mple has just taken down 3 players, has bomb bottom mid, and knows that ropz is on A, and from that youd either expect ropz to either push down into mid where s1mple was aiming, or to go through ct giving s1mple A site. only thing i think you can really critizise s1mple for in that round was not walking up mid cause at the end of the day in a 1v1 you should prioritise not letting them know where you are

No way simple can walk when he has only 15 seconds left to plant the bomb and he is still at the bottom of banana. From what I'm assuming, Simple peaked out mid and didn't see ropz and guessed that ropz must be rotating through arch to B to catch him planting the bomb and tried running to A or something like that. I will say this tho, had he been running with his ak instead of knife, he might've killed ropz and ended the map. But ah well, we'll never know.

If you watch Karrigan's Faze team comms POV you actually get to see exactly what happened. That bracket's nade explanation at 9:20 was a little too much IMO. I don't think that was intentional at all. Because Faze would not have known how many players were behind the smoke, and if the nade was to push back a player, it could have pushed back, not just simple, but the other two as well.
@shakespear90
@shakespear90 2 жыл бұрын
What can be intentional tho is that ropz nade mid, so that it hides steps sounds long so that twistz can swing large. He just swings without flash or anything. I think it was a concept planned by faze.

@vooCSGO
@vooCSGO 2 жыл бұрын
well, it would be to push back anyone holding brackets from that angle, but yeah that one is more of a theory than something that they definitely did intentionally. it also could've been to mask footsteps a bit and get someone to sneak into cubby. it's kinda similar to the ropz play on round 11. it's nice to think that it was calculated and they knew that NaVi ran the same strat against heroic in the quarter finals, but more likely ropz just saw an opening and took it (probably with some idea of how s1mple tends to play)
@vooCSGO
@vooCSGO 2 жыл бұрын
actually having thought about this a bit more -- ropz smokes off short to push someone at top mid to hold arch, then nades on top of someone holding arch. ofc it wasn't meant for ONLY s1mple but i do really think there's a high chance they knew that nade was likely to push someone off of the angle momentarily (probably they didn't expect 2 players in mid though, i'd guess they were thinking it'd allow them to go 1 for 0). not 100% for sure (and it could've just been to push back the solo mid holding player so someone could get into cubby) but it feels more likely to be intentional than not, to me. but that's just my POV. could well be wrong.

what's really funny is if you watch the final round of the game -- the crowd starts cheering at about 6s left and all of navi start to run back to site thinking the game is over. turns out the crowd was cheering because broky got the bomb plant haha

10:04 s1mple fakes going B so that Twistzz could see him going B on his deathcam. That was his plan, however Twistzz deathcam was facing the wall and he didn't see him, so s1mple's plan didn't work.

9:50 Some more info on this round is that Twistzz made the call for Ropz to not rotate and instead stay boiler. This is most likely because of the death cam giving Twistzz a glimpse of simple. I’m getting this info from Karrigans voice comms video so you can watch that and decide for yourself as well.
@vooCSGO
@vooCSGO 2 жыл бұрын
he said initially he was going B (he assumed), and then basically called it back with I'm not sure cuz his death cam I think faced the wall. I think part of s1mple's play was based on assuming twistzz would see him running B on the death cam

More like 150 ping, which is very playable IF you don't hold static angles and go for entry frags. How do I know? I play with friends from overseas and Europe is the common middle ground for all of us spread around the world. It takes some getting used to, but I was able to adjust within a few days and have great games at 150+ ping. You can't rely on aim at all at these ping levels though, just focus on positioning and being a good support to your team mates. Improved my game drastically tbh, but not because of my opponents, but because the ping forced me to develop roles which I had never played or been good at.

it was a major mistake before the round started, see the #s, he has $ left over, so does b1t... b1t buys a galil, left over 1400, gets 1 kill (1700)... coulda drop deagles or tec9s.... no way s1mple runs w knife out if he had a deagle...

i think it was just a beast play by ropz calling the bluff and holding that extra moment for info. it was totally possible for ropz to be rotated towards B already at that point and s1mple dodging towards A could very well have been the winning play. all else equal ropz had defensive advantage. s1mple had to make a move with 0:20 left and lots of angles to clear.
