The thing ive noticed about Fiona is that she plays a considerably smaller role in Fiona and Cake than id originally expected. And then i realized that Fiona isnt Finn, she isnt the experienced, well-versed in combat warrior that Finn was. She's just a woman with a few similar physical and emotional characteristics, but without the same ability to accomplish that which Finn could, in terms of taking down the many past enemies that they've encountered thus far.

@@lime455 i think it's just a sign that Finn was once in his prime but kinda went off of it later on in his life. Much like a lot of adults are that had their prime in their teenage years. Especially when he's still subtly dealing with his emotions and attitude that were caused by Jake's death. Jake's Death, his traumatic experiences when he was just a boy, and the fact that the land of OOO in that universe is getting a lot better and more civilized. It makes sense that he's just chill with his life, most of the time.

It's more of a Simon focused story tbh. Since fionnas only wish was to escape her mundane world, after getting transported, her and cake didn't have any clear goals besides getting the crown since they were already having fun. It's as if they were just tagging along Simon and the adventures at first were enough till reality finally hit her and how the magical dimensions weren't as fun as she thought, from there comes in the character development. Simon on the other hand is like the actual mc, the title being "Fionna and cake" can signify how these two played major roles to Simon to finally getting his closure, at first warming up to fionna and cake who hed thought was just fanfiction and desperately ignored for so long cause it reminded him so much of ice king.

I get your point but Korra is only going on adventures because of how she was raised. I remember when adventure time first aired on cartoonnetwork I was a 12-13 year old boy skeptical at first but fell in love with the show and grew up with it through jr high and highschool. Ahh those tumblr days of Fiona and cake posts lol cringe but fond memories 😂. I really grew up with this show being a teenager to becoming an adult and how funny crazy and deep this show has it stucked with me. In 2018 when it ended I was 21 it felt like a goodbye to those younger days. 23 years old in pandemic hit and fell off with a lot of things I was into and we all were going through tough times but here came distant lands. 26 years old now in 2023 with Fiona and Cake ?! Mannn anything to do with this show felt like in a way an old friend coming to check up on you from time to time. Still got that inner kid in me lol

A 2000 baby and I grew up with adventure Time regular show didn't really in like adventure Time for the random plots but I sat down watched it when I was a teenager like 19 recently and it was great I never liked the original Fionna and Cake cuz it seemed weird but that was ice King and it was his van fixed so it seemed weird but but I think they knocked it out of the park and for an adult show I think really good for a sequel to adventure Time great I just want to see Finn and Jake meet Fionna and Cake that would be cool to see and I didn't grow up with adventure Time much but I'm glad I checked it out recently and it's a jumbled mess like I can't describe it for the life of me what it's good some of the plotlines I understood some I still don't get I'll have to watch this series 3 more times maybe 10 more times to understand everything because it is I can only describe it as it's an acid trip😅😅 but also you're dreaming at the same time it's hard to describe I love adventure Time and Fionna and Cake gave me that silliness but it also makes me feel like I'm hanging out with Jake and Finn

Ah just like Samurai Jack. Continued in season and knocked it out of the park, not only being much darker, but being real with the trauma and pstd more importantly isolation and guilt. I never watched Adventure Time to the extent of most fans, but I have enjoyed what I saw and immense respect for the show. So I am glad to see another old cartoon having a long awaited continuation and having the same quality of writing while adapting to it's new audience really well. It's such a rare thing when most things we loved so much from the past tend to be disrespected and utterly ruined. It's good to know somethings are in much better hands.

One thing I want to point out is that there is one specific animation that Fionna and Cake does NOT do whereas OG Adventure Time does that shows the age difference. It’s the animation that emphasized the wacky, goofy, and fun childhood feeling the OG show brought: The noodle arms. Not once did any of Fionna and Cake’s characters do that, everyone’s anatomy works as normal now. Even when Cake does it, it usually looks grotesque, like an adult with a child at heart trying to relive the childhood with nostalgia, only to realized it wasn’t as fanciful as it used to be.

@@din8486 i´d have to rewatch each episode and take notes to be able to list these plotholes but here are some from the top of my mind: - in the world of ice prince somehow ice king found a way to transfer the insanity from him to princess bubble gum it doesn´t make sense first of all he could have just used some other person other than the princess and got away with it easily also where are marceline finn and jake they would never have let him get away with this also if finn wasn´t alive in this world for some reason then the lich would have destroyed the world since finn is the one who´s meant to stop him. -in the vampires world we can see finn´s dad but he for some reason is helping princess bubblegum and even sacrafised himself although he only cares about himself and how does he even exist the only reason humans existed was because marceline saved them from the vampires and let them sail away from ooo and since he does exist where is finn and how didn´t he recognize the baby finn lol another thing that didn´t make sense although i don´t know if it is a plothole why did finn´s oldest son not go back to his world after helping fionna (which really doesn´t make sense why he would help fionna they literally were the reason his dad died) he is the oldest brother and he probably would want to go back to take care of his siblings after finn died. sorry bout the rant you wanted to know what plotholes there are and these were some off the top of my head

You know what? Fuck all this concept of "show growing up with you", I'm so tired of it. It hurts me so much to hear my two older siblings talk about how they grew up on AT and other fantastic shows. And I'm just standing here and I don't know what to say, because I've seen most of it, but I was too young to feel the same. They were ten and twelve years old, and I was two when AT came out. They grew up with the show, and I was there watching it, but it didn't mean as much to me as it did to them. And when we grew up, they talked about how wonderful these shows from childhood were and how happy they were to have grown up on them. And I, I listened about it and fixed in my mind that the cartoons from their childhood were wonderful, but they weren't MY cartoons that I grew up on, I was fucking ten when the AT ended. It's just that now it's fixed in my mind because those cartoons were wonderful, but I didn't find them at the right age, and it makes me feel so bad, it makes me want to be born earlier, I also want to get all this experience and say that I grew up on wonderful cartoons, but now I I grow on nothing. On the past, on memories that I almost don't have, because I was little, about how cool it was for them, and how it should be, and what the same thing should be with me, but it's not, it's just not like that. I practically grew up on your past, all of you who say that AT, SU, GF, etc. were your childhood. I sincerely respect you, but at the same time I envy and hate you, because now my growing up is like this. Fuck, someone else's nastolgia gave me trauma and I pour it all into the comment under the video, which is not about that at all.

I tried multiple times to watch Adventure Time, but it never worked for me. I could see why people liked it, but I wasn’t able to enjoy it. I could see the interesting universe, the funny worldbuilding and a developping cast. But only the episode Obsidian, Fionna and Cake's sequences and Marceline's songs had attracted my full attention. One of the main reason was Finn and Jack. I hated them. They are the dumbass characters who are popular but horrible for me. So, when Fionna and Cake's show had been announced, I was extatic. Finally I would be able to enjoy this universe! And it's true! I really enjoy Fionna and Cake's show and I'm waiting to watch the next episode with great joy. But there is one problem... you can't fully enjoy it if you don't know the whole lore of AT. The characters don't take time to explain anything since they know who they are. The main antagonist of the last show appears? We show you how deeply scared the characters are, but they won't mention what happened in the last show. Fionna and Cake is not a reboot or a spin off. It's a sequel. Better than the first show for me, but still a sequel. So, I advice everyone to read or watch AT's lore before watching the show because it deserves this effort.
