Bro, do you know if it is possible to solder af new FPC connector onto the motherboard? The one from the sensor has completely disintegrated :(

Yes, you can. You will need a connector of the same specification, a soldering iron, a heat gun, solder, flux, tweezers, etc. If you don't practice beforehand, you'll probably melt the resin in the connector and end up making repeated mistakes. The temperature at which it melts depends on factors such as temperature and humidity, so you'll need experience. Most connectors are made by Japanese companies, so read the heat resistance on the specifications. Once you get used to it, it's easier than cooking scrambled eggs.

@@orientalbored Alright guess I will have to do some digging and figure out what kind of connector it is exactly. Would just be a shame if that is the reason why it won't work anymore. I also have the issue with the camera turning itself on and off repeatedly, with the lens activating and then deactivating. It all happened after I dropped it :(. So it might not be viable to fix it with what spare parts cost now. It is the Mark 5, and I really like how it took pictures.
