I reversed my depression, anxiety and ADHD. It has taken me 3 years to clean out my brain and give it the nutrients it needs. (It’s now 4/2018) The primary thing I focused on was correcting my leaky gut. I used lots of homemade bone broth and lots of high quality fats. I feel like a new person. Sometimes I’m embarrassed by who I “was.” I had such little self-control and made a lot of goofy choices, despite being in my late 40’s. It’s wild how simple it has been to reverse diseases with some awesome education and taking my health into my own hands.

Not as many of those left, since Rpckefe11er & Carnegie took over medicine. Before then, there were lots of Dr. Bergs, but they were shut down, squeezed out, run off, or worse. Up until recent times, there are still those with cancer cures, who have disappeared, or their cure protocols stolen, patented by the FĐA, and locked away.

He is absolutely right about fatigue feeling like depression. I remember having just moved house and all of a sudden, the afternoon after I'd unpacked all my stuff, feeling terribly depressed. I wasn't unhappy with the new place. No traumatic events. The problem truly was that I was tired, had barely slept the night before, and the fatigue felt like depression. The next morning, when I woke up after a good night's sleep, I felt great again. It was shocking to me.

Thank you so much for this, I have been telling this to people for years ( not the in-depth that you gave which I did not know) and they don't want to hear the truth. Years ago I went to doctors for what I felt was deep depression, anxiety attacks, fatigue. I could not eat out my hands would shake there were many times I could not even leave my house out of fears to go out in public. I was put on 3 meds plus a sleep aid. On a 600 mile trip to visit my parents, I left my meds behind, before my mom could get them shipped to me, for three days I went into a terrible drug withdraws just like a drug addict would go through. By the time my meds came all I remember is looking at them and dumping them in the garbage and said: " Never Again". I moved back to a town where I was "Happy Again", starting exercising like I used to, ate more nutritious food like I used to. I never needed the meds which made me zombie-like. I needed me back. I'm telling you Dr. Berg knows what he is talking about, this info is life-saving.
@KimiLouQ3 жыл бұрын
That “accident “ of leaving your meds behind was straight from heaven. I have learned to just tell people they must do their own work to solve their health issues, point them to Dr Berg and leave it at that. Most won’t and continue to take the meds and run to the doctor. I avoid traditional doctors like the plague. Thanks for sharing your experience.

How ironic that depression is seen as the cause of many symptoms such as lethargy and insomnia. There are only very few causes to this type of predicament and it mostly has to do with unattended stress. We live in a very traumatic world, pressures of all kinds (work, family, relationships, etc). Ultimately, it is each one of us that must take the lead in our health because no one else will. Once we empower ourselves and decide to learn about nutrition and health, we might have a fighting chance.

Potassium is very important to calm the heart down. B1 vit. Helps with restlessness Best is nutrition yeast. Calcium helps you rest, relax Best is calcium citrate, fish oils get a higher quality one, Iodine from a sea cal source..Tou want to make sure your breakfast is protein (egg, meat)You will feel so much better. And get sleep 8hrs Not 7hrs. Lack of sleep will cause all kinds of issues.

This is the Doctor that will stop people from saying "Doctors are a dime a dozen, they dont know health" Even though I hate that term because when I need a c-section or have a SERIOUS condition, IDC if my DR can cure my rashes or common problem, but am happy they can save my life! This is such an informative channel, he is easy to listen to and doesn't use "doctor" words that we cant understand. I can use them with my Personal Training/Nutrition clients. SOOOOOOOOO many of his videos I have "learned" the hard way just observing clients problems and using my small small small amount of book knowledge, and personal experience. I use to be depressed for a short while but sleeping well and finding a slightly deep connection with a friend or girlfriend has made things INSANELY better! Depression just means feeling bad and sad all the time and for my cause there were actual reasons why and i could pinpoint it. I think u guys/girls could just use a good friend or maybe some intimate relationship would help alot. Find some sort of made purpose of ur choice and desire and remember it really isn’t worth being sad all the time. You guys/girls need some love and good nutrition,a good pal or two and an empty mind 👌🏻 Walking, hunting, outdoor activities in general with alot of sun light will provide loads of happy energy. Give these a try and if u do read this let me know what u think 🙂

All doctors EVER have done for me is try to treat the symptom. The last straw was when I KNEW my symptoms were not directly from severe depression and anxiety and the antidepressant I was on was no longer working yet my doc still wanted me to try another antidepressant which after only two days I nearly went insane. It made me ten times worse than if I hadn't been on meds at all. I feel like the 20 questions followed by another pill prescription was just a huge "fuck you I don't give a shit about you now give me your money and get out of my office". I knew then that most doctors have no respect for their patients and they will take the easiest way to get you out the door and paying your fee. I'm going to do whatever it takes to find out what's wrong. In the meantime getting sleep, the right nutrition, and exercise will be my medicine.

BlinkinFirefly I went through that experience with my local Doctor also taking Diabetic meds for over 11 years. Especially when Dr changed the meds to a slow release type. The side effects were making my whole body worse, affecting my moods, body rashes, pains in back, muscle weakness. So much so that for 9 months, I didn't have the strength on one leg to even walk up 3 steps. I kept saying to Dr about my symptoms but he was only concerned that my blood readings weren't going down. Then after taking the Diabex for 18 months to 2 years, I woke up, one day that my 2 legs had been affected. I couldn't walk at all. That day I said to myself, "Enough was enough!". I stopped all this madness, and started on a new journey for better health. 2 1/2 years on, I am off all medications, my health improved through low carb/high good fat diets LCHF, Intermitted fasting 14 hrs over night, herbs like Bitter a Melon, cinnamon, Gymnena, exercise, eating more raw veggies, more good fats etc. Along the way, my body began to heal and my moods improved with it. I learn from Eriic Berg's videos, Dr Jason Fung videos. I realise I had to loose my fatty liver if I wanted to recover. I found by Researching on the Net that Western medicine isn't the only way to better health.

@MsBettyRubble8 жыл бұрын
Sara V hi, Sara, Dr. Berg suggests getting potassium from vegetables not fruits. Bananas are very high in sugar and can lead to elevated blood sugar levels. Eat protein for breakfast like he suggests. if you eat the right amount for you - somewhere between 3 to 6 oz per meal - you won't be hungry, your energy is sustained, and blood sugar levels are stable.
@SaraVV8 жыл бұрын
MsBettyRubble Thank you for your suggestions. I'm working myself towards that. For over 20 years all I had for breakfast was a big coffee. It took me about 6 months to get off of that bad habit. Then I did the bananas for about 2 months. I still don't like to eat anything in the morning. Presently, I have a dandelion root tea for breakfast. Maybe in a few months I'll be able to get some protein in the morning.

I'm the same about breakfast; when I eat, it's usually more like brunch. And Dr. Berg says that's okay to do because that's doing Intermittent fasting which is healthy. So whatever your first meal is, just include some protein. Wishing you good health!

Dr Berg, I struggle with 3 autoimmune diseases/disorders. I take a number medications including pain pills like Tramadol. My problem is trying to find the right food to eat to help me to not get so backed up. I believe my medication has much to do with the backup. Sometimes its so compacted its hard getting it out. This is not so nice to my rectum. This has become more of a problem as I get older. I drink plenty of water and exercise 2 to 3 days a week but still have the problem. I've tried otc but it worked not so great. The best thing i did try was prunes. Can you please give me some advice if there is anything more I could be doing? Thank you kindly !🙂

"You ever hear the concept "an apple a day keeps the doctor away", well that might have been true in 1965, but not now. It takes 6 apples a day now to keep the doctor away if you take the apples and shoot them hard enough at the doctor." lol

I know this is an old video but dr berg if you read this, once I hit my goal weight staying keto was definitely affecting my mood I think, as soon as I did a refeed I felt an amazing sense of wellbeing that lasted for several days. I’m exercising a lot too and I think that may be part of it.

THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH SEA KELP As sea kelp contains so many minerals and nutrients in such high quantities it may pose health problems if consumed in an incorrect dosage or by those with particular health issues. Iodine: Sea kelp is rich in iodine as it rapidly absorbs the high iodine content of the sea, and you might find anecdotal advice to take it for iodine deficiency. In the developed world though this condition is rare, and even if you are a sufferer it's unlikely iodine supplements would be the recommended course of action. In fact, you'll probably already get between 160mcg and 600mcg of iodine from salt, and taking excess iodine can cause many health problems including hyperthyroidism, Grave's disease and thyroid cancers. Different forms of kelp can vary greatly in iodine content too; another reason to be cautious. For example, the iodine content of different products containing bladderwrack (or seawrack) - a type of kelp - may vary greatly. Heavy metals: Sea kelp grown in polluted waters may well absorb toxic heavy metals which if ingested can cause major health problems. The potential for this means it isn't recommended to be taken if pregnant or breastfeeding, or by children or people with health issues, especially liver or kidney problems. It should be possible however to make sure a particular supplement comes from kelp grown in clean waters. Unpredictability: There are a large number of sea kelp supplements available containing a variety of different types of algae that all come under the name 'kelp', which may affect your body in different ways. For instance, bladderwrack can cause or worsen acne, and there is a single reported case of it causing kidney failure.

1. GOOD NUTRITION (difficult because of depleted soil) a. Potassium is very important to calm the heart down. b. B-vitamin helps with restlessness. Especially B1: Best is nutritional yeast. c. Calcium helps you rest and relax. Best is calcium citrate d. Fish oils - get a higher quality one (should smell fresh) e. Iodine from a sea-kelp source. 2. BLOOD-SUGAR needs to be stable! a. You want to make sure your breakfast is protein (egg, meat, fish). b. 7 cups of salad c. Make a Cale-shake 3. REDUCE STRESS (walks, stretching, acupressure, sleeping, good diet, avoid stressful people) 4. GET MORE SLEEP 8hrs Not 7hrs. Lack of sleep will cause all kinds of issues. The more stress you're under, the longer you need to sleep. Are you depressed or exhausted?

On Keto and feeling depressed, which is not like me - at all! I think it's a sleep/serotonin issue. Also - considering the high I used to get from food, thinking about food, planning my food, looking forward to food - a HUGE part of where I drew joy. This is no longer available to me on Keto so I'm trying to seek out some replacements. I don't find ANYONE in the Keto Community talking about this issue either - the difficulties in finding joy when we are no longer getting it from food. I know I'm not the only one! All I ever hear is: "You won't be hungry". Yes, true but if I only ever ate when I was hungry - I would not need Keto in the first place! :-D

Probably you are a sugar addicted (required more time to adapt). Or you are not consuming enough good meat. You must try to keep your guts in better shape to absorb nutrients. Bad guts bad diet.

Hi Dr Berg and thank you for the videos. I have a question, what do you think of Oatmeal? You seem to be a strong proponent of low carbs, high protein/fat diet. However, I'm not looking to lose weight, just to have optimal energy. I do the 8/16 IF, and sometimes my first or my last meal is Oatmeal complemented with Walnuts, a teaspoon of honey and almond milk. What is your opinion on a carb like Oatmeal? Thank you.

I wish I known about this before I started taking medications. I wish more doctors knew this. I don't think a lot of farmers let the land rest every 7 years like it says to do in the Bible; that's why there isn't enough nutrients in the soil anymore.
