I told myself I wouldn't play Fortnite again unless they added Spider-Man, so here we are! How does the web-swinging stack up to games like Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel's Avengers? Fortnite ALMOST Perfected Web Swinging, and in this video, we are going to talk about how. Honestly, they were SUPER close and I am actually shocked with how good their web-swinging is, and it's just an item for this season, that's not even going to last that long. I applaud the effort put into Spider-Man's inclusion into Fortnite!
I love Spider-Man so much, and I bet I'm one of the biggest fans out there. I've played so much Spider-Man for the past couple of years that I am in tune with Spider-Man and I have a deep understanding of the web-swinging mechanic. So when I found out Spider-Man's Web-Shooters were going to be added to Fortnite, I was overjoyed and excited to see how they worked & compared to other Spider-Man games. I wasn't expecting much at all, but I would say that I am very impressed with what epic games have accomplished here.
Games like Marvel's Spider-Man, Miles Morales, & Spider-Man 2 are highly revered for their excellent web-swinging. I thought Miles Morales had it all, it has the tricks, the speed, and the fluidity, and I was completely satisfied, but that all changed when I found out epic games added web-swinging to Fortnite. Fortnite Almost Perfected Web Swinging, let's talk about how!
The Web shooters in Fortnite are awesome and the things I like most about them are the Freedom of choice it gives you since you have to choose where to swing every time you shoot a web, how it's physics-based, and I really enjoy web surfing! I don't like how there's a cooldown for when you stop swinging. I get why, but still! I also don't like that in a few months, the web-shooters are going to be gone. I hope that they stay in the game, even after Season 1 ends!
The current King of Web Swinging is Insomniac games. They absolutely killed it with Marvel's Spider-Man, and they somehow made it even better in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Let's not even talk about Marvel's Avengers. That was SUCH a disappointment. Fortnite came in and saved us from Avengers!
Overall, The web-swinging in Fortnite is quite amazing and fun, and I hope that Insomniac games is paying attention and takes a few notes from the folks over at epic, and implement some of those awesome features in their next game! Thanks for watching, & subscribe if you enjoyed the video!

I have to agree, Fortnite's web-swinging is pretty good. Hopefully, we get web-surfing and more physics-based web-swinging in Spider-Man 2.

I really hope we get to aim where we shoot a web in the next game. Like you said, it's a lot more engaging and even though I love the web swinging in Miles Morales and the og game, it does get a bit boring after a while. so it would be great to have a different swinging mode.

Even if insomniac adds the option, it would be great! You can either play on normal swinging mode, or advanced.

The sudden change in the web swinging where you have to aim at a building or something to swing will probably most likely not go well with fans of the previous two games.

I think one of the reasons why it works so well has a lot to do with the amount of freedom you are given in any one scenario, let’s say you see a player driving a car in the distance and decide to go after them, in the original spider man ps4 you would only have one single way of handling this scenario that being to swing after until you get close enough, however in fortnight you suddenly have toons of unique ways to handle this scenario, you could swing ahead and get in an advantageous position to shoot down the vehicle or you could try to attach a web to the car and wait till they eventually have to stop, maybe even if your feeling real confident you could try to land on the car itself, not to mention that this scenario will also change based on the environment and suddenly you have essentially infinite unique moments from a mechanic that seems so simple Not to mention all that for free 10/10

From when the Web shooters were added, I have only had 2 games without the Web shooters. Exactly how you said, the physics based webs give fortnite the upper hand. I love the detail in the 'Web skidding' as I don't think any other game has it. if I had to rank it, I'd go (personally) with: 1. Spider-Man: Miles Morales 2. Spider-man, Fortnite and Spider man 2 By the way, for anyone interested, Epic have announced they'll be adding a permanent item that replicates the swinging, so web shooters but not actual web shooters and are permanent unless vaulted

The web sling at 0:50 looks weird because of a bug with sliding. If you slide and then initiate the web shooters while sliding, the fov gets all weird and close to the character

Doubt you'll read this, but web swinging is back in Fortnite. You don't get them from backpacks anymore though, which I thought was a nice little touch back then.

Epic has seen the feedback on the web shooters and i would be genuinely suprised if they dint either A. Keep them or B. Make a item very similar to ot due to copyright problems and add that to creative and keep it for the rest of the Chapter. Considering they changed the animations and added new 1s throughout the season, I dont see this feature going away anytime soon

there's a reason that this swinging isn't in Spider-Man games. you're in a city, there's some tight spots that would be challenging to navigate through. Fortnite's map is more open so you have full freedom of where you can go

I understand that for sure, but I think some of the mechanics in Fortnite could be adapted to the Insomniac games, like the webs that stay attached as long as you hold on, which was in Spider-Man 2 way back then

Being able to swing continuously without the web being cut off and web-surfing are the only two good things honestly. The animations are terrible, there's no feel to doing it, and the transitions are poor in almost every aspect. It's far from being an "almost perfected" web swinging, and leagues below Insomniac's work tbh.

did you try it yourself? if you're bad at swinging, it can look bad, or this video it looks bad, as they used replay mode, which does not replay animations correctly
