@nadrewod9993 жыл бұрын
In the beginning, Fujitora has no reason to fight the Strawhats, because he's only on the island to provide naval assistance for Doflamingo and CP0. In the middle, he fights the Strawhats because the prisoner exchange went wrong, and the navy is assisting the local warlord by fighting the rowdy pirates. In the end, after Doflamingo's long history of evil is revealed (due to all the toys returning to human form), he has no desire to fight the island's true saviors, as shown by his multiple gambles in support of the Strawhats, and as shown by him refusing to drop the debris on the Strawhat Alliance Grand Fleet when the island's citizens rush out to the docks. I hope that he gets a good character ending by the series finale...

I totally agree with you... One of the best developed and deep characters with strong sense of true moral justice, with practical approach towards dealing with situations not with passion or aggression but with cool head. Most important of all he takes responsibility for his actions no matter what and even considers consequences of his actions before acting on anything. Even though initially he wasn't exposed to the corruption in marines and saw pirates and marines in black and white, he later grew as a character and got to realise the greyness of the world during the dressrosa arc. Many people accuse him to be having confrontational issues and escapism using dice, but I think it's opposite. If he feels the need for something to protect someone he acts upon immediately. But he is careful enough to not act till he ensures that whom he is opposing, actually deserves it. He thinks of the overall well being of the people and puts that at the top priority. That's Y first thing he orders his subordinates to save people instead of attacking pirates, Law and strawhats according to the Akainu's orders. He refrained from acting against Doffy because he felt him being representative of World government, all the things Doffy has done is indirectly fault of govt and they can't pull the same thing like in Alabasta to make themselves look good. He wanted to get the change in the system and with the fault on govt side, he felt morally that he being its representative doesn't have right to oppose Doffy straight away along side not opposing strawhats like he has been ordered. His character arc of learning about the greyness of being a pirate or marine with respect to being good or bad through initial part of dressrosa has made him very interesting character. Even though he initially thought kind of in a black nd white manner, due to his intrinsic humility and drive to do the right thing, he was open to learn and grow as a person, correct himself and rise to a state to accept things as they are. He got to know luffy was not a bad guy and so he entrusted things to Luffy but was always ready to take on Doffy if at all luffy failed. Also if he attacks Doffy it would seem like he being a top govt officer is on Luffy's side assisting to a pirate and for that Akainu with his absolute justice will strip his rank and probably send all his subordinates to impel down... He was even concerned for them. Such a practical character who feels responsible for his actions and considers their consequences is one of a kind. He tries to be as less hypocritical as possible inspite of the opposing sides of orders from Akainu and morality. Most prominent and admirable action is to feel responsible and bow, prostrate to apologize for all the wrongs done due to the warlord system of world govt for which he himself is not at all related to in anyway... RESPECT!! 🙏 He only used dice when he is conflicted by the morality of what is the right thing to do vs duty to follow Akainu's orders. He even considered to let go of the pirates in the castle, after doffy had been defeated because he felt they have earned their free pass to go by saving the people of dressrosa inspite of being pirates. He doesn't judge people of what they are a marine or a pirate or common people, but only considers their intentions and actions while taking action. His ability to hear the intentions and emotions of people around him due to his advanced observation haki is a perfect kind of power a character like Fujitora needs as for him justice is based on the intentions and actions of people and his highest importance is to protect, care and empathize with people around him rather than fight and win. This is also reflected in his humiliy .. 😍 One of the most admirable characters... FUJITORA- BLIND UNBIASED TRUE MORAL JUSTICE. Not to forget the best quote ever " If you lose credibility just by accepting your fault then it means you don't have any in first place." 👌👌👌

One more thing I find really interesting is the choice of color, with Fujitora's design being purple...a mix of Blue (Aokiji) and Red (Akainu), which is what he turned into in the end. One thing I noticed (but unsure) about Aokiji is that he is a moral yet passive justice. He doesn't think in black/white like Akainu but neither does he go out of his way to confront the morality of Akainu's action. A bit different from Kizaru, whos sense of justice seems to be like a "Let it be" type, with neither morality questioning nor enforcement. Fujitora, on the other hand, understands Aokiji's PoV and set out to enforce/confront it. Similarly, Ryokugyu (Green bull) so far seems to follow the same feeling. Him being a mix of yellow (Kizaru) and Blue (Aokiji) which makes him a more laxing type of character. Dressrosa Arc in general is also a great melting pot for Doflamingo's concept of justice (Victor is justice) with Doflamingo himself feeling like a mirror of Fujitora but on the chaotic side....like a fallen Fujitora. Although he's not really blind, he is (imo) ideally blind by his god(devil)-complex. EDIT: (wow, that's a lot of likes) After rethinking it, I want to clarify Kizaru and Ryokugyu a bit. I think Kizaru's "Unclear Justice" can also be defined as "Indifferent Justice". If looking based on law, it means that he's neither passionate about being fair like Aokiji nor fervent about enforcing it like Akainu; Kizaru follows the law because it is the law. This might be what 'unclear' means because regardless of the situation, a law is followed because it is a law. So if we mix indifference with morality/fairness, what you can get it "Situational justice", in other words, corruption. You don't enforce the law like Akainu, you don't forego the law to justify morality, nor are you indifferent in its effect. You look at the law and utilize it to justify your sense of "morality". Basically, you don't twist the law because it is right (Aokiji), you twist the law because it is beneficial toward you. Hope that clears it up a bit.

I feel like you've overlooked a fundamental characteristic the relates to Fujitora's sense of justice: His gambling habit. It shows that he believes that the natural state of the world is fair and balanced, and reflects his desire to punish those who cheat. Later on, when faced with the decision of what to do with Luffy, he again relies on neutral chance. That said, with his powers, it's possible he manipulated the dice to get the result he wanted, which would actually reflect growth in his character, as it would show his willingness to take responsibility to enact his own sense of justice.
@laughingtraitor19693 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't think he's the type to manipulate the dice. Furthermore, he doesn't have to because we know for a fact that he can't... actually read dice... The game's rigged, but only because unless someone that thinks he should go after the Straw Hats like Tsuru actually stands up and tells him he lost the roll he could keep rolling forever and not even know how many times he should have lost.

I cant help but think Fujitora was sent far into the future by Toki in the past. Perhaps he is from the void century? He did make sure he spoke with the king of alabasta about a decision their kingdom made when they decided to not join the other celestrial dragons in marijois... He just gives me the vibes of a guy who has been sent to the future and was disgusted by what he saw. I think he saw the factories in wano and blinded himself. During the Dressrosa Arc, Fujitora reminded me a lot of the well-known quote from Antoine de saint Exupèry: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." I think this is exactly the direction in which he developed over the Arc. From someone who blinded himself so that he no longer had to see the terrible things in this world, to someone who learned to see the essentials (as you said beautifully "the people and not the flag") with his heart.

what I really ask myself is how the admirals who question the system and ideology of absolute justice can agree to continue to be part of this system.... They have to face situations in which they have to choose between their duty and morals. that would be a ongoing struggle. instead of just following their heart. and Fujitora is not alone with this problem. I would like to see your analysis of Monkey D. Garp, as the D in his name even suggests that he is a natural enemy of this system and its ideology of absolute justice. If you're taking recomendations, I would love to know what would you do to analyse Doffy's, Oden's, Cora-san's or Hululuk's psyches. I'll be following as usual!!! Again, really great video, i love your work in regards of the analysis and art!!!

On reddit someone also made an analyse on fujitora and he looked at the colours. Purple = red + blue. Just like you said in the video, Fujitora is a cobination of Akaine and Aokiji.

Love your Admiral series! I noticed something though; all of them eventually came into contact with Luffy and, in doing so, displayed their interpretation of 'justice'. Makes me wonder/hyped for Ryokugyu. 🤔

I really hate when people say that one piece is a bad anime when they don't give it a chance. I used to be one of these people and thought that watching One Piece would be a waste of time. Now that I have seen up to 50% of what is available I can say that the story has made me cry 7 to 9 times and would recommend it to other people.

Do you mean “philosophy” when you say “psychology”? Because the themes and topics that you, through Fujitora’s trials and tribulations, are talking about, have less to do with the behaviour of the human brain and more to do with ethics and predicaments of the conscience.
@jambondepays19694 жыл бұрын
i'd say ideology is closer to it, but yeah, this definitely isn't about psychology xd great video tho

Are you belongs to ODA... Literally your understanding of one piece is very deep and it feels like ODA explaining it himself to audience... You are great explainer .... Thanks for this video

This Fujitora line gets me every time: What kind of man are you, really? What colour is your hair? What is the shape of your eyes? What do you look like?... I wish I had not blinded myself... I want to see you face. I bet you look kind.

I truly think he'll be revealed to be from wano. It makes sense. If he witnessed kidos impact on wano it would surely give him a reason to view pirates as evil but still allow him leeway to be able to have a moral guide with people.

These videos make Dressrosa from the anime look good visually.

Dressrosa is when I started to enjoy OP wholly as an adult. It was always so much fun, but it seems w Law and Fujitora in Punk Hazard/ Dressrosa it's like OP matured to an adult depth and added so many layers. Oda is seriously genius level.
