The “Don’t cut my hair, Ned loves my hair” kills me every time I think about it

I thought the red wedding was worse in the show, but only because of the visuals and the fact that Rob’s wife & unborn child die first. Reading it in the books, Catelyn’s thoughts were heartbreaking.

Yeah Rains of castamere sounds better in the books

HAHAH. The first time I read "The Red Wedding" I literally threw the book across the room. I couldn't believe it.

Part of it too was how the books get you so used to that whole "bread and salt" guest right... not in Walder Frey's house.

The Red Wedding also was never set up as a big deal, it was just “the next episode” to get to the big thing (GoT: attack on Casterly Rock, ASOIAF: Attack on the Neck) which made it was all the more shocking.

Book Robb was never a POV character, but show Robb has a lot more of the story from his viewpoint. I like seeing the story work from these different angles.

The red wedding is better in the show just because it works better in a tv show format. Sure, you get more detail in the book, but you don't get that visceral emotion and visuals that the show represents.

a detail i love during the books is how dog shit the musicians are during the wedding until rains of castemere starts playing

The book version is a million times better because of the epic epilogue.
