And the fact that he studied english history and geography and made it Westerosi. The paralels are undeniable.

The chapter came to him, like showed up at his door saying "My lord, I'm Chapter, first of my name, the beginner of series, the inventer of worlds, the unfinished tale".

The worldbuilding grew parallel to the story is a gem of advice.

You can see why it takes in 50 years to write a book.

Hearing him talk about this idea reminds me of hearing great musicians talk about their legendary riffs. They don't speak like they created the thing, rather they speak like it was suddenly revealed to them. They speak like they'd accidently unearthed some great truth that was always there waiting to be discovered.

This man is a genius writer, he created something that gave me hours and hours of enjoyment. From the shows to me reading the books. We will never see a writer like him in our lifetimes we need to appreciate him while he’s still here. At this point I don’t care if he finishes the books, he’s already done enough in my opinion. (Would be great though, to see how he ends everything)

I'm writing a fantasy right now and lists to keep track, world building and drawing a map are so helpful when you're writing such a big thing. I've never attempted a novel but I am having so much fun doing it!

Bless this man, I know he’s not as prolific as we’d want him to be, but man he’s created something beautiful here

I love that even in his earliest inspiration for the story, it centers around that juxtaposition between the fire/ice summer/winter elements. And then its like the whole process of writing he is still trying to answer that initial question of why does this universe have summer snows and what does that mean?

Reading about Ghost when I was a teen made my dream dog a white wolf. Got an all white Siberian husky now, 12 years old and very spoiled.
