I can relate! I had asthma as a child. Not quite this bad but I would make a trip to the ER maybe once every year or two. My asthma did subside as I got older...but it never completely went away. I grew up drinking dairy at most meals (and thinking how much better this was than some friends who drank soda much of the time). But when I went plant-based in my mid 30s, the most noticeable thing was my asthma going away almost completely. I used to have to use an inhaler prior to going running. I didn't love doing it but there was no denying it helped a lot. Since ditching dairy I've never had to do that :) I've only had to use an inhaler on rare occasions over the past 12 years or so. Usually only if I get a bad respiratory infection or chest cold. I highly recommend kicking dairy to the curb :)

Wow- I experienced the same thing with dairy products. I am an avid runner and was having knee pain so I stopped dairy to try to mitigate the pain. The knee pain and the asthma disappeared in 6 weeks- I had been on inhalers and nightly medicine. I did not realize the effect of dairy on my asthma until I stopped consuming it. Giving up dairy 6 years ago started me on my vegetarian and now vegan lifestyle. It was the BEST decision I have ever made. NO medications at 59 years old!

The 2nd week I was vegan & dropped dairy my huge goitre disappeared & my asthma calmed down. So I'm thankful for that for sure.
