I'm going to take some poker chips and paint them up, then make 1-6 out of skulls and glue them to the chips for objective markers

i made a vid on these, looks awesome when you paint each leaf different color and put em on sylvaneth monster shoulders, or attacking arms, they can be sideways like he says in the video. All the leftovers i just painted green and threw em on my Mausoleum graveyard structures

Dropping the vines in hot water and then twist it around whatever seems like a better idea for me than a hot gun. Paint it afterwards off course.

nope but they look good when you apply a shade ink

I usually do rakarth, sepia then highlights with screaming skull for skulls. What shade do you use?

i suck at highlights, i dont think i barely even tried to highlight, i use Warpstone green, Spritstone red, and Soulstone Blue to shade

i meant for colors of the barbed brackens, i know to always use "drakenhof nightshade", or Nuln Oil = life :P but also seraphim sepia on whites/reikland fleshshade after fulgurite copper* for the kharadron overlords bronze

Do you think that there is a (casting) reason for having the skulls connect to the sprue at the round part (top of the skull)? It makes it so much more difficult to clean up in my experience.

No, the skulls are made out of the traditional hard plastic that GW's AOS and 40k kits are made from.

Them skulls are finally the right size. GW's other skulls (the small set) are so fucking tiny.

GW SEEMS to be making real strides towards more realistic scale. Primaris Marines, Death Guard, Necromunda Underhive, etc.

Nice idea bad packet. I would rather have just the human skulls sprue for 1/4 the price. The plants are way to overpriced. If you really going to make jungle bases /terrain you will want both and then your base design is starting to get more expensiv than the models you put on the base.

As Spikey says really its terrain for life you wouldn't blow it all on one squad. I'm thinking of putting a couple of skulls on my desert bases and the large skulls I might use for Captains or other large based models, maybe throw a medium skull in to my guard heavy weapon squad base. Bracken I don't like the look of, kinda looks a bit too Jurassic and the vines I don't really have any model large enough they would go with, perhaps they would look good creeping up a building or other terrain element or if you had a jungle terrain base you could cut them up real small and have them creeping across the ground along with a couple of bracken pieces, that would create some nice dense vegetation.

I love the idea of the skulls. I hate the whole 'let's put human skulls everywhere and ruin our models'. I am going to be buying all of these. The plants are very useful, and I have some ideas for the non-human skulls! I could not disagree with you more. Of course, maybe people love human skulls, hence your opinion here. Also, price-wise, I'm okay with it for a few reasons. One being you misjudged the cost of the basing to models, it's very cheap per base.

Does anyone know if the skulls are the full heads because I'm thinking of using them for conversions. Also does anyone know if they would fit models like bolt action?

I know what you mean, but sometimes creating a really fancy base (which might overpower the miniature sitting on the top;) is a labour of love for some hobbyists whether the cost of creating a really extravagant base outweighs the cost of the miniature on top like some sort of work of art, although you're unlikely to find it in any museum or gallery other than Warhammer World or at Gamesday.

Having said that, it's completely the over head costs of Games Workshop that you're paying for; not the physical cost of the substances used to make the minis or even the cost of the human labour it takes to sculpt cast and manufacture the models . Once you come to the realisation that that's what you're paying for, as much as it might niggle at the back of your sensible thrifty mind then you can sort of accept it.

yeah small box of sand 100g is $11.50. Out my front door=free, at any garden shop $11.50 of sand buys you a 40 pound bag of it.

I think 3d printer can do miracles for stuff like these (if you have a 3d printer ofc) For terrain creation is quite good, not for miniatures P.S: if you want, pass on my channel and let me know what you think about my first work :)

Well, 1. I love GW products. 2. I don't have a dollar store. 3. the prices are okay compared to the whole. (£15 for me.) But, man, the sand does cost a lot now. I won't be buying sand from GW when I run out. I have the whole large round tub that cost me, um, maybe £5. Now they are smaller for £7? Other hobby shops a few minutes from my house may be better, although, the train shop is still quite a lot of money.

Ebay then for the plants 10x the variety and not even a quarter of the price. There is no way in hell I'm paying $25 dollars a box. For what I can get on Ebay for $2 to $3 dollars.
