How good are Sea Serpents and Haspids in Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Horn of the Abyss expansion (Homm3 HotA)? Let's find out!

The unit tested will face six trials:
- Castle Attack
- Battle vs. A Horde
- Battle vs. Elite
- Battle vs. Missile Units
- Battle vs. Army
- Castle Defense
They will score points from these, as well as from abilities in campaign map, construction chain costs and from the army costs. The army is determined by 20 weeks of growth. The tested units will be controlled by human, and tactics can be used.

Quite the power spike with the upgrade, it seems. Whoa. That was impressive. Haspids are clearly one of the most powerful tier 7 units, with a much bigger jump from the Sea Serpent cousins than others.

H3 wiki Special Ability: Revenge Haspids have an increase to the Damage parameter before the attack by the following formula: In layman's terms, an injured Haspid stack fights slightly better, and as some Haspids die, the total damage of the stack will decrease less than usual.

It's a trivial detail, but if you attack cyclop kings at 15:46 first, then kite and wait to double hit the orges, you may survive with more haspids.

IMO, the difficulty of these fights varies significantly, with horde fight being a really easy one. Hence I would have awarded less points for a perfect victory in it than for other ones (like 6/6 maybe?)

Thanks for the good comment. Agreed that the fights are of different difficulties. The reason is that all units from t1 to t7 are tested in the same format. Thus, the difficulties are needed to differentiate t1 units from each other as well as t7 units from each other. :)

Maybe you know this, but do all defensive archery towers on castle defense have the same stats? Or do the tier 3 (Lich) do more damage than Lizardmen in the towers on castle defense?

archery towers damage depends mainly on how many buildings you have built in town. Liches do the same damage as lizardmen

Thanks for the suggestion. The plan is at least to do tierlists when all units have been tested :) But I agree, that would be interesting.

Once again. Haspids should have lost against an Army, but Thundirbirds and AB rushed into the useless suicidal attack on the 1st turn (and even then only one Haspid survived the battle).

Revenge is extremely strong ability, keeps approx. same damage for stack, even it is halved and significantly slow down decrease below 50%.

Were the 2 points for special abilities a mistake ? he has just 12 speed He would get to keep his position as 5 th but whit 50 points not 51

Thanks for the good question. Speed 11 is the limit for 2 points because that enables max speed on the campaign map :)
