a little thing to note about Nishiki's movesets in 0: he gets stronger as the story progresses, using a basic goon moveset for his first appearance as an ally and getting upgraded to a boxing moveset when he's reunited with Kiryu

I definitely suspected he was a boss the first time I saw him using a new style back at the prison with Saejima. Kinda weird they didn’t make an ally boss Nishiki set.

Yeah, my mistake, there were so many substories. I played through and watched several videos on substories to check for allies, but I had a feeling I would miss at least one during my playthroughs. Sorry about that.

Kurohyou 2 Allies Combat is probably one of the best in the series, they really reliable and sometimes able to survive a fight with several enemies with the same level, they got extreme styles too if you're lucky, recruiting allies in that game is a great feature too that i wish this feature appeared in more Yakuza games

I do want to add, for the ishin remake, allies are actually the one of like 3 ways to actually consistently do back combos against a boss And for kurohyou 2, with the recruiting thing, you can actually get allies with extreme styles which idk how practical but its pretty cool For yakuza 0, the Mafia bosses use the one bald guy in red from yakuza 5, always forget his name

I understand that you only included the coliseum tag team stuff in the Y3 section because that game did it for the first time, but Y4 does have tag team heat actions but you can only use them in the coliseum with the tag team partners you get from saejimas fighter maker minigame There are 3 heat actions you can use with them, there is a new knee heat action for Saejima that only he can use Basically your ally holds the enemy up far in the air and the enemy waves his arms around, (ally grabbing someone from the front), the stomp one that was introduced in Y3 can only be used by Kiryu only (also ally grabbing an enemy from the front) and the one where your ally grabs an enemy from behind is shared between Kiryu and Saejima, its the one the knee one from Y2 Look up daizobuvids heat actions video, to see Kiryu's go to 7:47 For Saejima's go to 6:11 So like I said Saejima has 2 knee heat actions and they look kind of similar but they are different

Aw I was looking forward to seeing a mention of Nair in Yakuza 4 as an ally in the GG storyline. That said this was a great video breakdown in general of how the games dealt with allies in battles. Well done! Really appreciate learning more about allies from climax battles as that's generally something I haven't delved into much with the games so I also learned something new.

Yeah, I didn't realize there were some characters I missed until I published the video, I tried my best to find every ally in the series, by looking through some guides and videos of substories, along with substories i played and such, but it seems there were some that I missed. I remember the first time that I played judgement when I got to the first hospital fight, I wanted to die so I didn’t bother actually doing anything during the fight. And to my shock, my friends actually managed to beat the battle all on their own without my help. I was getting lucky cause not that many enemies were targeting me for some reason, but it was still pretty incredible.

I was always fascinated by the allies in the RGG games, so I'm glad you covered pretty much all of them, including Dead Souls's unique helpers Maybe someone else already commented about it, but I think you missed both Katsura Kogoro and Saigo Kichinosuke from Ishin when you're going around pub-crawling with them, though you have to get in random battles and their AI is passive enough that people tend to forget about them Still great video all around!👌

Writing this before watching the video. Prediction: If spinoffs, especially the Judgment spinoffs are part of this list, Judgment will probably be the highest ranked or atleast tied with something else (maybe kurohyou is good, i havent played them so) Lost Judgment will be lower, if not much lower. Gaiden will probably be the same as 6 and K2, maybe a bit lower, since there's less tag team heat actions. All of the OE games (with maybe the exception of 0) will have low score, especially 5. Don't remember too much about the OOE games, they might be somewhere in the middle tho. Dragon engine games will overall be pretty good i think especially since there's a lot of tag team heat actions, but as mentioned earlier Judgment is just on another level, Kaito will take care of them for you, while you eat popcorn on the sideline if you'd like. After watching parts of the video. Loved the callback to the creepypasta phase of youtube, that was great. After getting to the 0 part of the video, i have only 1 thing to say regarding one specific ally: "Ten years in the franchise made me a fucking ally" Okay, regarding judgment, I feel like it should've been a cut above the rest DE's, reserving the 10/10 for that specific one, and the others being 9/10 but maybe im just biased, i just feel like, even in 6 or k2, you dont have the absolute humiliation of bosses that you do in Judgment, and i mean, Kaito has soo much crowd control, there was many times through my judgment playthrough were Kaito would just completely obliterate crowds with dropkick after dropkick. Finishing the video. Im happy with my prediction though, got some things wrong of course, but still better than i expected (didn't expect 7 or IW to be in the vid though, but i like it). EDIT: Also if it weren't clear, I really liked this video, keep it up lad, some great stuff :D

Just a note, Tachibana does not have a new fighting style. He reuses one of the bosses fighting styles from 5. I believe he either reused Morinaga or the guy that fought Saejima on top of Kamurocho Hills.

another thing you forgot about in yakuza 4 is the fighter maker where you can make them do heat actions (basically tag team heat action :) ) and you can train them by fighting them and they have to complete a coliseum tournament to progress (to become a champion) so they can technically also finish battles on their own and that also means they can be beaten in battle. after you train them all you can unlock them in tag team matches in the coliseum and woah you gave yakuza 0 a 9/10? the allies dont do that much damage compared to kurohyou, in fact they do very little. sure theyre aggresive but they dont do a whole lot unless its nishiki (but even he isnt that beefed up) is it really worthy of a 9/10? i agree with yakuza 6 and kiwami 2 tho but i think kurohyou 2 should take a higher spot here, not only can you call in allies any time unless youre already in a battle or in a boss battle, regardless if youre in story mode or premium adventure. and in premium adventure you can call in your friends from the story with their actual abilities and they give you special perks while they are active but lets be honest lad iw and yakuza 7 wins 100% you got 4 people on you team and you can switch them for other peeps i dont care that you only count poundmates it is obvious man
