Let's take a look at all of the legendary boons in Hades and discuss what they do and their power level. I also describe in detail what is required to find these boons. What do you think? Thanks for the video! It really seems that boons are hard to rate in isolation, since this game is so much about interactions and synergies. Espcially for legendary boons, it's like the thing that ties lower tier boons. Very keen for Duo boon video!

11:38 oh no...... This is outdated in this W2Hell update already, mate. The wiki page is now a bit behind, since it's made by fans. (No wonder why you used the old version of Brilliant Riposte). Black Out now only needs Dio Cast and one of his Poison ability (Att/Spc/Dash/Aid). It doesn't need a "tier 2" boon anymore. (I know this because I 'campaigned'/complained on Discord enough to have it changed lol!)

So maybe 6:31 could be a bit off as well. As far as I know, Fully Loaded doesn't have a "tier 2" prerequisite in W2Hell update. You can get it just based on chances. But the thing is that Artemis has the most abundant god boons in her set, so it's really based on luck of the draw. It's her "Exit Wound" that requires a tier 1 "cast-related" Artemis boon instead.

Chaos Defiance is still a... mystery. I swear to gods (and DDegrand) that you need: 3-4 Chaos boons in the run already + equipping Chaos Egg (+ have high boon rarity boost ie. Yarn,...) I have that boon a couple of times now, only when Charon is blessing me with so many Lights of Ixion.

It also feels like Athena's Legendary here is quite underrated, which is understandable since you seem to always run 2 points of Tight Deadline. As some who only does one (or sometimes none), it's up for almost every room and it really does save a lot of HP.

Black Out was actually my first legendary, bar fishing one from Poseidon. I honestly struggled to get my foes both poisoned and in the fog. Most of the time one of those effects would expire before I could start benefitting from the bonus. That was with Hera Bow. I guess it would be much easier to use if I had hangover on my basic attack instead of what was it, special and call ...?, then I could launch both effects at once. Otherwise, Talus Fists could be good with it?

Second Wave goes great with wall slam + knockback on the chaos shield special. You slam enemies into the wall a ton of times.

I have only beat Hades once in about 30 hours of play. It was due to second wave and the boon that gives knock back damage to boss. Amazing combo that I think you might rate higher if you mentioned that other boon.

Don't know if anyone else has already said this, but Poseidon has a second legendary. I know it doesn't do anything for combat, but for the sake of completeness in a guide to legendary boons; Huge Catch Requirements; Ocean's Bounty and Sunken Treasure Effect; +20% to fishing spot spawn chance, removes the Chambers Since Last Fishing Point spawn requirement. Still, this and the Duos video are both great guides. You probably have the best Hades content out there!

The chaos boon is a funny one. I've been blessed by rngesus obviously, I've had the extra DD pop probably 4 or 5 times now. It's never been first, nor have I heard of someone getting it before another Chaos boon so I'm reasonably certain that it's like Hermes where you must have a previous boon to get it. That makes sense that it would be coded that way, and also be a reason for it's exclusivity. I recall seeing a picture or video at one point as well of the extremely unlikely event where you could get two "insertnameofcurse defiance" boons from Chaos as it can't roll the same curse prefix but could roll a different one but I can't find where I saw that right now. That said, often I've ended up taking a different boon as if I'm still happily taking a 2nd, 3rd, 4th chaos gate I'm probably not hurting for HP or DD and my build is out ahead of the curve.

Found your channel a few days ago and have been pretty hooked. Good Hades content seems to be lacking on KZbin, and your videos have been fun and informative. I was wondering if you could maybe make a video or a doc or something of different builds for the various weapons. I like watching your various build videos, but wondering how you come up with them. I'm fairly new and have only put in about 25 hours into the game, so I still kinda just take what I can when I play rather than shooting for a certain build, which I think would be fun and shake things up. I don't know the all of the boons that go well with each other and things like that. Again, loving the content! Keep up the great work

If you've unlocked the weapon aspects, some of them outright give you the tools to emphasise your cast, special etc. so you know what to build around

That's a good idea, making a video about how I start a build and how I get ideas. Typically I either start with a Duo boon or legendary boon I want to try out, Then I think about a build that would maximize it's potential using aspects or other god boons. Then I try to make it happen! It doesn't always work out, but it's a super fun way to play! I think I will make a video about that. The game became even more fun when I started playing that way. I would check out the Wiki just to see what duo boons are available and then try going for one!

I have a run which have vicious cycle + fully loaded + burst shot + fast cast rate, the damage and charge rate is amazing, but when I finished this build it had already reach the last stage. This is a very fun build should try out

Yesterday on my first ever Hades kill, with the fists.. in the Styx rooms I just hit my special once or twice and watched everything jump (including myself) around and die with Poseidon boons and legendary, it was so fun to watch, it was like Pinball :p

I had a fun run with black out and Hera bow, where each shot was a fog so deep even I had trouble seeing through it but boy was it a party with poison and low tolerance.

I love splitting bolt defs S tier!!! I just got it the other day and I was using the gun rail with Zeus lightning primary attack and it was insane!! I had delta chamber going so every shot getting pumped into the enemy was sending that extra lightning bolt constantly on the screen. I absolutely deleted everything in styx in seconds and destroyed Hades the fastest I have ever done with that Legendary boon! so fun!

My fastest clear so far was with a Blackout poison build, using Rail + shotgun spread mod and the boon that increases damage if 3+ mobs are poisoned. Clears rooms in a snap since a single shot will apply multiple stacks of poison to an entire crowd.

Very nice! That is a very good dio boon boosting poison damage. My only complaint is that most boss rooms are affected by the 3+ poison damage boon.

I used to look down on festive fog because of how common it is, but once I was forced by the game to take up hangover damage with the fists, and so the fog was the arbitrary long range attack. And then I got blackout. And then I got all the way through to Theseus for the first time, only a couple seconds short of finishing him off.

Any idea which of these are upgradeable? I once had blackout by the time I got to Eurydice and the combo damage increased from 100% to 140% when I got Pom Porridge.

I have noticed that Euridyce's buffs can buff things that normally can't be. A regular pom should never be able to buff a legendary boon. At least, I don't think it's supposed to be able to. 140% would be nuts!

I completely agree with the list, only thing i would change is putting Hermes' boon down to C tier too, i just feel like the slowing effect is the most useless status effect in the game (even/especially with Demeter's boons); i feel like enemies don't move so fast that it's really something that would help, nor do they usually have enough health for you to make much use of the slow, and even if they do have a lot of health then they usually also have some form of ranged/movement ability which would completely negate the purpose of slowing them in the first place.

With these legendary boons i tend to pick Second Wave much often than i should, but it is anyway free boon if you're running poseidon, has high synergy with Sea Storm, if you're going for it, and while it help almost nothing with bosess, it is enormous in basic room clears. It essentaily doubles my clear speed and allow to bypass shield by wall slamming enemies. Biggest buff to Divine Protection in my opinion would be letting it show up with more than single boon, especially that Brilliant Riposte is mediocre at best. And i agree cd reduction would be great too, but this boon already rises in value when you're not running Tight Deadline. Unhealthy Fixation is actually free Broken Spearpoint proc if you're cappable to ranged combat against sigle enemy, and it would be great for melee too, after charm bug will be fixed. And it's always few free minions in each room. This boon is at least A for me. And again, it's one of these free legendaries, as you want to pick boons leading to it anyway. And Black Out.. I'm really torned about this one, but I'll share my exprience with it in video, you created about this one.

I just got that Chaos Legendary with me running a Polearm Cast Build with Arti and I got no gold for 4 encounters but the Death Definaces so the first part of that boon is random negitive xD oh I also had a unranked Choas egg with me but yeah it was the fun run after I got it so... O.o

Yep, every chaos boon requires enduring a curse for a few rooms. Usually worth a death defiance. 😊

I got Black Out in my current run, I can't say how good it is but I am reliably getting it by dropping fog and using Aspect of Talos to pull enemies in.

I was using choronact, got flurry shot, got the charm boom, got a Hermès heroic boon that increased my attack speed by 40 % and the game was ez from there (just so you know, charm makes enemies attack each other.

One thing I've been trying to do with Aphrodite's legendary boon is get it with the her attack on the spear or rail to see if it's possible to sort of charm-lock a boss. Haven't ever managed to get it to work yet, though. Can't seem to get both the attack boon and her legendary boon in the same run. Only tried a couple times so far. :P

It's definitely possible, especially with the rail. Someone once said they basically perma-locked hades on charm.

Another way to make athena's legendary better is to give it cooldown reduction for each deflected attack I found chaos legendary once and it so happened that it saved my run

I was doing a run about two days ago with the Guan Yu aspect of the spear and i entered a chaos gate just to increase my attack and i notice there's alegendary. I stood there for about 5 minutes looking at it cuz Chaos is suposedly a primordial not a god, right?

If you have a dash with weak, and a build based around dashing a lot, Aphrodites legendary is really, really good. For me, sometimes Hades runs around with a heart over his head like half of the fight

Divine protection blocked more than one attack for me in Styx, maybe it has a damage limit? Or I just remember incorrectly.

I'm not sure, it might be that you had some deflections from an athena boon? Maybe it does deflect for more, just wasn't what I noticed.

Another comment, where would you put demeter legendary? I find it to be quite strong (particularly against bosses) but I've heard others don't think so.

It's pretty nice! The shatter damage is OK, but really it's about the culling strike. Some people think it's just a flat damage boost, and I suppose it is, but killing Hades with it is a really good feeling. I'd probably put it at the bottom of A or at the top of B? I'd have to think about it some more I guess 😂

For Divine Protection: If it says that successful blocks don't remove the barrier, how come it's only 1 blocked attack then it's on a 20-sec cooldown? Are you sure about that?

I think they mean shield blocks. basically if the divine protection deflects an attack then that starts the cooldown

Really odd that you haven't seen a bunch of these in 200 runs! I've seen all of them except Splitting Bolt and the Ares one and I've only got 60 odd runs on my save. Dionysius legendary is really good, I had it with just Nasty Dash and it still pulled incredible numbers. The athena one is super terrible, I don't even understand why it is the way it is. Not only is it too long of a cooldown but it can also just get procced by some 7 damage butterfly blip and completely negate your positioning I get the poseidon one a lot but sometimes I pass it up because I didn't know you could knock back bosses, are you sure it works that way? The Chaos one is also pretty bad Imo, depending on how much you need the DDs. If I paid the opportunity cost of a chaos gate, I kinda want my numbers to go up somehow and an extra DD doesn't accomplish anything.

For Poseidon knockback on bosses, I'm usually looking for sea storm proccs. Knocking back against a wall is pretty impractical

I've got a vid in mind to update a bunch of things but honestly the legendaries are pretty much the same since the update. Getting blackout no longer requires a tier 2 boon. Just a poison boon plus festive fog. I don't know of any other changes off the top of my head...

Should be added that if you have Lightning Rod you absolutely do not want Greater Recall.

It's a shame that only Dionysus' legendary combos both of a God's main abilities. Doom + Blade Rift and Crit + Cast could be interesting. Also, regarding Black Out, it's crazy, especially with Hera Aspect. It's basically a full Dio Privileged Status. It combos especially well with Scintillating Feast, the Zeus duo. Oh, and, you don't need any T2 for it, just both Dio's cast and a poison source.

I didn't know it worked like that! The wiki doesn't say that, so I need to do some testing! I agree it would be cool to see them incorporate the disparate parts of a god's kit into their legendary. That being said, one of my criticisms of Black Out is that it requires a lot of things to occur in unison in order to get the bonus. Primarily that the enemies need to be hanging out in your fog and be poisoned. It kinda makes it so it's hard to kite enemies, since you want them to stay in the fog. My most recent run with blackout was pretty good, but I didn't feel like it was overpowered, where as when I get hunting blades, I feel like enemies are made of tissue paper.

@@JawlessPaul Well, Black Out as I said works best with Hera Aspect, Dio's attack and Scintillating Feast. I'll admit that without that it can be hard to use effectively. Not to mention that it can be pretty hard to get privileged status with that build unless you can get jolted. I'll agree that it isn't as crazy as Fully Loaded, and especially not as much as Merciful End and Hunting Blades. Though imo it's better than Zeus' legendary but that might just be cause of my bad luck in getting it and me not using it correctly.

I would honestly say that relative speed and second wave need to be replaced with completely new boons. They are both near-useless as well as redundant with other already existing boons. Passing though does something EXTREMELY similar to relative speed, except relative speed is worse because the radius for it to trigger is so absurdly tiny. I would recommend that Relative Speed be buffed and Passing Through be replaced with an effect that deals damage when you dash through enemies. Second Wave is also pretty bad because of how much it requires you to invest in Poseidon build, yet still gets you such a weak payoff that has no effect whatsoever on bosses. Not to mention Poseidon is the weakest boon kit by far.

I totally agree with you! Really second wave is good for trash rooms and if you have sea storm, and not much else. Also agree with Passing through. It just feels like nothing has changed when I take it, which isn't good if it's a legendary boon.

They should make the Athena legendary after every 15 seconds you become immune for 2 seconds and I'd definitely be considering it more often

I disagree with you on the divine proctection, you said it wasnt great for hades fight because a low level summon attack will just block??? that makes no sense in terms of the actual fight. Hades hit like a truck and most of his summons due too. you will most likely beable to block 5-8 attacks, which is enough saved hp for more then one res.

Fair enough! It's good, but I don't think it's good enough to justify being a legendary. Broken spearpoint will block WAY more damage than athena's divine protection ever will.

Yeah, it's... Not the best. You can do everything and are just invulnerable for a while. In contrast to Poseidon's and Ares. They also make you invulnerable but you can only do their thing.

divine protection feels like it's more a thing for room clear. In boss fights, 20 seconds is rough, but I'm pretty sure it resets after clearing a room. Kinda acts like a freebie for one instance of damage per room. Still not great but most of the game is room clear and that should be part of the consideration for how good it is.

i'm 70 hours in, and at heat ten now. i will have to start taking bad punishments soon :'( it's difficult to talk about legendary boons in a vacuum. i think, it would be more useful to review each god individually, if you want to rate boons like this. then you can talk about god combos and duo boons at the same time. ie: buff ares and artemis! for example: i consider viscious cycle, and ares for that matter, pretty bad. it's more or less useless unless you have artemis in your run as well... and slicing shot... and hunting blades. unhealthy fixation on the other hand is ultra sss god tier. you will constantly apply weak. charm is basically an upgrade to weak, since the enemy can't damage you while they are charmed. hermes is a bit different, since he only has passives. hermes has three fantastic boons. greatest reflex, flurry cast and greater recall. these are all good, if not great, in every run. greatest reflex is always fantastic. these all have legendary usefulness imo.
