Working on a 2005 Honda Civic 1.7L with lower control arm bushings that need replacement, after replacing suspension and/or steering components, it is highly recommended to perform a wheel alignment to prevent premature tire wear, improve directional stability, and driving performance. All tools used in this video are linked below so that you can find them easily.

I wouldn't call that a real DIY alignment. You didn't run any string. What you did was "get it straight enough" to go to an alignment shop.

“HHHHEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKTTTTTTOOOOOORRRRR!!!!!!!” Home alignment can be done, but it is a skill man. Especially on some vehicles that are by default hard to adjust caster, camber, toe, etc.....LOVED the F&F Hektor quote at end man! Nice find homie.

Homes must be psychic, cause these are exactly what I'm needing to fix on my vehicle right now. Thank you for the video! The camera views to what is happening in the suspension are really helpful. Plus l will forever be grateful for the video on the other chingadera, the big socket for removing a stubborn crankshaft bolt, which had caused me unbelievable grief when doing my timing belt.

I learned 35 years ago to alignment with a couple of cinder blocks a kite string a tape measure and a 8 foot long pice of metal conduit with two homemade slip points and till today I can do it like that and gaurantee it be as good as one done on the computer now you can't do the thrust with that system but a simple alignment yes sir

At home wheel alignments are great for setting toe and camber, then getting to a competent alignment shop. But if there is any damage that can vary SAI, or set back it might be hard to tell without proper equipment.

Excellent vid!! I did a home alignment on my Jeep after a large suspension rebuild. It was good enough to drive to work and back until i could get to the tyre centre for an alignment. I was close enough for what i wanted ( 5 days) but if it was left, i would have experienced increased tyre wear!

I use thin fishing line on axle stands. Make the line parallel down each side then set the toe front and rear using a engineer's steel rule, works fine and is very accurate. Had this confirmed when I went for tyres fitting, they checked it and all within spec.

It's been about 20 yrs and 4 vehicles since I've had an alignment or tire rotation. Never had an issue with wheel pull or tire wear. Maybe I could improve my mpg a little. My last 2 cars have too much rust. A lot of parts would have to be replaced or unfrozen to have an alignment done.

I have a question about my 2007 Toyota sequioa, every time I hit over 60 there is drowning vibrations like if I’m in the ranch roads back in Mexico. I have changed a good part of my suspension shocks, stabilizer end links and bushings, right side lower control arms. Checked all my bearings and they are good. Could it be something in my trans or rear end? It’s a nice vibration from 60 to 85 and when I let the gas go it settles down until I press gas and it starts back but after 85 it’s calm? Help Hektorrrrrrrrr

I think he's using an impact wrench during the first half. An impact wrench and impact drill/gun are two different things. Impact wrenches are usually stronger and heavier, meant to tighten and loosen bigger nuts and bolts. Impact guns are used on smaller nuts but primarily used to drive screws and such.

No matter how much effort ... using old school bubble aligners etc. one can only get close.... DIY useless - especially 4 Wheel alignment. Professional equipment only way to go.... some of the latest newest technology alignment machines are "touchless" even sold as drive thru 4 Wheel 60 second check for car dealers servicing centres. Home DIY is a joke & a waste of time even when one knows how to adjust / shim all... Only little laser device DIY Trac-Ace shows Toe in /Out accurately - but what is the point when it's NOT aligned to the rears. :-)
@timewa851
@timewa851 3 жыл бұрын
easy to adjust toe-in with street chalk, 4" wood block & tape measure. (every car on the road has 1/16-1/32" toe in to track straight) . And it's accurate. No lasers required.
