10 years ago I would have told you that I wouldn't be caught dead watching women's basketball. Now just this season I attended 3 games and going to the Women's B1G championship game and seeing Iowa get the 3-peat victory was the most fun I have had at a basketball game ever. Players like Clark don't come around very often.

Caitlin Clark’s passing puts the other side in a “pick your poison” dilemma. When Iowa fast breaks, don’t let Hannah Stuelke get loose cause Clark can lob for the easy layup; if not there Clark can pull up and take the “logo” three. When Clarke drives into the paint she can flick a pass to a team mate on a bounce or behind the back. I am most impressed with Clark’s ability to pass … keeps her team mates alert.

And now in the WNBA - the league where, Diana Taurasi taunted, CC22 would encounter 'grown women' and 'reality' - she is the 1st rookie and only 4th Player in WNBA history to record 30pts, 5reb, 3stl, and 3 blk in a game, and the fastest ever rookie in WNBA history to 100+ points and 50+ assists, doing that in 8 games, and the fastest ever rookie to 100+ points, 50+ assists, and 50+ rebounds. Her team really sucks at the moment, so she isn't seeing the victories she had in Iowa, but it's clear that there is no-one that is her equal at playing basketball.
@aislinnkeilah73618 ай бұрын
Caitlin is surely great but Johnson of South Carolina did a good job of defending her for three quarters holding her to 12 points during that time and getting a couple of clean steals. And Nika Muhi of UConn held her to 21 points. Lots of talent in women’s college basketball but Caitlin is the best. And Iowa did a great job getting to the finals in two consecutive years. She should do well in the WNBA. Maybe very, very well.

For the "purists" out there, they have got to let this thing with Pistol Pete go. Yes, he did not play with the 3 point line. Yes, he only played 3 season. Yes, his record withstood the test of time for decades. It's called progress or evolution and it's the nature of life. She took an awesome talent and coupled it with a ridiculous work ethic. As a Iowa Alumni, I wish she will play another year but when you are done, you're done. PS - I am THRILLED she was born biologically female!!

Why are their so many haters. She didn't have an extra season to break the Record, She did it in the same four period as the previous record holder. Then to suggest she takes 40 shots per game is just a low blow.Hell if she did take 40 shot per game she would average around 80+. Why can't she just be her and not sniped at from the cheap seats. she puts butts in the seats a secret unknown to WBB stars.

Caitlyn Clark needs 54 Points to break the All-Time Single Season Scoring Record of 1109 Points held by Kelsey Plum. Clark could break the record in 2 games, or 35 games which is the same number of games in which Plum set the existing record.

I believe she is simply the NCAA leader; Pearl Monroe is the overall collegiate leader. And lest one argues that Moore didn't play the same caliber of competition as Clark, same could be said that Clark didn't play the same caliber of competition as men. Caitlin's a great women's player, and deserves praise and monetary consideration for what she's accomplished. But one shouldn't want to conflate men's and women's records unless one pools the players. They are entirely different programs.
@kevdebable9 ай бұрын
Monroe didn't play the same level of talent.
@jacobwatson18189 ай бұрын
Pearl didn't play at a D1 level right? Also, who compared women to men when Caitlin broke the NCAA record?
@sgtelias22589 ай бұрын
It's Pearl Moore. Anyway spot on simple logic.
@darchon59 ай бұрын
OP is wrong; Pearl Moore is NOT "the overall collegiate leader", it's John Pierce. Oops, didn't know that, did you? Newsflash: no one else does either, because NO ONE mixes D1, D2, D3, JUCO records together, which is what you have to do for every college sport for both men and women if you use the reasoning that Moore should be considered the women's leader over Clark.
@darchon58 ай бұрын
And now the point of this entire thread is moot, because Clark has passed Moore's 3,884 points - and for anyone wondering: no, Moore's 177 JUCO points do not count towards her total, because no one's JUCO stats have ever been included as part of their college stats.

Change my mind: if she was Lisa Leslie's height, she could play in the NBA. Not saying she'd be GREAT in the NBA, but she could make a squad. Unfortunately she's too small, but her shooting AND passing are better than some NBA players. Luka Doncic said shes a better shooter than he is.
