Bluder doesn't really get enough credit. She isn't a loud character like Mulkey so she seems to fly more under the radar of the national press. But she's been running a highly competitive program for more than 20 years at Iowa, constantly bringing teams much further than the talent level of the individual players. She's likely the reason Clark decides to stay and play for her home state in the first place. And the reason Clark has a team around that can answer the call at these highest levels of competition.

When guys teams came to Iowa and were doing shoot arounds, they were trying to hit from there and couldn't do it. The night Michigan State came to town, there were only a few seconds left in the game, score tied, and somehow Stuelke got it to Clark, and she put it up "from the beak". Totally agree, great game! One note I would like to make is Sydney and Kate stepped up, but they always step up. The way Iowa plays people in multiple positions can make those in season numbers deceptive. It’s also important to note that Molly Davis started, and therefore their offensive numbers , and strategy based on opponent were different and ebbed and flowed in a way that can make the numbers deceptive. Especially with Sydney who was their go to on the bench, but didn’t have the minutes to be getting the numbers she is now. Both Sydney and Kate are strong defenders, get rebounds , take hard fouls , and do the hard work behind the scenes that don’t get the attention they deserve. I think Sydney got one of her first double doubles in the Big 10 game and she wasn’t even mentioned in any reviews of that game. So I’m not disagreeing with anything said here, I totally agree this was a great game for everyone on Iowa. They used three different post players as well and I think that was a good strategy to manage foul trouble and keep Angel responding to different styles of play. I think it’s important though to highlight that behind the scenes , blue collar basketball makes those giant shots and killer passes possible.

I'm starting to think that CC change the game for college. If you are a 5 star recruit and you go to a school with a bunch of 5 star recruit. I believe that the championship you win shouldn't be so highly praised . CC might be able to do it with zero 5 star recruit playing with her

If anyone is gonna have a chance against Clark they’re gonna have to double her from half court and full court pressure her. Get the ball out of her hands. You can live with the rest of the team beating you or not💯

Angels ankle sprain had nothing to do with 41 points being dumped on LSU like rain. Race has nothing to do with those who dislike Angel. It was the taunting and her other acts of disrespect.

Some of the most beloved players of all time were notorious taunters. Gary Payton, KG. Reggie Miller doing the choking symbol is one of the most iconic moments in basketball history. It’s part of the game.

Exactly, so glad Robo called her counterpart out when she was trying to move over and talk about Kate and such. CLARK ASSISTS, she sets up the offensive, sooo important. If Clark did not do that, those other players would not be scoring.

Serious question...whats up with the one legging that angel reese has? I know aja wilson wears the same thing. Is it like a shooting sleeve but for your leg?
@Ghostreader1988 ай бұрын
Probably a compression sleeve to help with circulation and preventing cramps. I’m guessing Reese has some nagging injuries on that leg and that would help manage the pain

The bracket selection committee denied is this game as the title game it should have been. Instead, they greased the skids for SC to get to the final. This was one of the best games I've seen this year, in spite of the selection committee that has managed to sweep most of the talented teams out of SC's way before the championship final.
@leeweber858 ай бұрын
They wanted to give Iowa a more competitive road for more viewership the entire tournament. They’re basically getting 3 championship games this way (if Iowa wins the next game anyways). Plus there really isn’t anyone other than Iowa that could take down SC anyways… I’m not sure Iowa can do it again, but if they play like they did last night, they got a shot.
@satidog8 ай бұрын
Yeah, I would have liked to see LSU face SC in the final four this year. Iowa having to go through LSU and UConn to get to SC is freaking brutal.
@leeweber858 ай бұрын
@@satidogLSU lost the last 16 games against SC. Think we can predict where that would have gone. If they had lsu & sc play in same region they wouldn’t have gotten their Clark vs Reese media frenzy.
