Small editing mistake at 15:40, Itto's not a great example of the point I was trying to make! Part of why it's a point I even make at all is that very often, the perception of units as "hypercarries" leads to underestimating team performance with off-fielders that have personal damage, and because of that, there just aren't many great examples of a team that'd be true to the hypercarry definition I'm talking about. But if you really had to imagine one, think Xiao/Bennett/Zhongli/Faruzan

Is ok too accept you are wrong sometimes. If you said having furina is not hypercarry, then most hypercarry is not hypercarry anymore. Including itto that have albedo or eula that have raiden and furina now. Even neuv best team is furina kazuha zhongli, which obviously to buff his dmg purely. xiao bennet zhongli faruzan not even xiao best team. Or if you want to go real tryhard, you should specific how much main dps % dmg to be considered hypercarry even with just using gcsim. even then, not one has best team where the main dps did the most dmg anymore, because subdps/buffer is nuts.

I generally think Hypercarry is a unit that does much more dmg than other team members. Even in Itto monogeo, Albedo doesn't buff Itto except some batterying. Albedo benefits from both Gorou and ZL buffs so actually does some decent dmg himself, especially if his flower doesn't get destroyed, his uptime is much better. But I still consider Itto the hypercarry of their team, because he does significantly more dmg than Albedo. Same with usual Hutao teams, even if Yelan does a lot, Hutao still does significantly more than her. Childe in International on the other hand, isn't a hypercarry, he actually does similar dmg as Xiangling. I consider International a dual carry team. XL can hypercarry even in off-field if its National with Bennett + Kazuha/Sucrose + Xingqiu, especially if your XQ is built just for hydro and not much dmg.

me dropping my controller and getting xiao by accident way back in 1.3 is paying off, bro started off pretty good but quickly became a character i benched but as time has passed hes gotten some nice buffs that accumulated into him being rather strong. also i gotta say he just feels better to play now thanks to the faruzan/furina/xianyun team removing circle impact for him, bennet buff is nice but i cannot wait for the day we get an actual alternative that doesnt force cirlce impact.

06:38 I'm not so sure how "meta" this is, but when i play xiao in double anemo team, i typically use 1E after his burst ends. with anemo resonance, the cd reduction is actually slightly significant, that is making his E cd 9.5s instead of 10s. Its similar to how some Navia rotation you press 1E at the start, and by the time you swap back to navia, her E is basically already back. For xiao, you press 1E after his burst ends, you do the set ups with faruzan CA etc. and by the time you swap back to xiao, he should almost have 2 charges on his E again (from my experience, the delay you do for catching the particles to xiao of that 1E is enough so you should have 2 charges of E when swapping back to xiao after the set ups) not sure if I'm the only one doing this, since it effectively lengthen his rotation, in exchange for more particles. Or is it just better to build more ER on xiao, and not do the 1E shenanigans? 😂

The atk goblet vs anemo goblet question is so relatable for me, I've been thinking a lot about this because both of my goblets are pretty cracked with the atk one being a little better. After a few damage simulations I found out that the anemo goblet build performs better in the Bennet, Faruzan, Zhongli team whereas the atk goblet build performs better in the FFXX team. There are also a few other variables such as weapons but confusing nonetheless.

I didn't even want Xiao, but got him at 5 pity long time ago and but didn't even play him. But now, seeing how much stronger he gets with, it actually makes me wanna play him. Already have Furina, Xianyun and a good Marechausse set, now I just need Staff of Homa and C6 Faruzan. I had C4 before Xianyun banner and still am left with C4, I got super unlucky and it feels terrible 😭

I got Xiao on his recent run and got Xianyun and C6 Furina and I’m tremendously glad I did. It’s a very fun team but yeah without all that I have no clue how I would play him. He’s a hard character to build around. My gear isn’t perfect or done just yet, but I do have a build with a lot of damage stats but 0 ER. It just means I have to rotate through Xianyun and Faruzan first and make sure Xiao gets as many particles as possible before I swap to him, and even then all that doesn’t guarantee his burst will be up. Energy is really his biggest issue for sure

I've been getting absolutely screwed when it comes to Faruzan and only have her at C2 after pulling a bunch on every banner she's been on, BUT I do have a C2 Furina and I find that with Xiao it effectively makes up for alot of what's lost by not having Faruzan C6. Just my experience.....

I just got Faruzan C6 after pulling for Xianyun and after playing Xiao i was enjoying him a lot more than before but I couldn't pin point why. I thought maybe because of Xianyun or Furina but now I realized it was really the C6 Faruzan that made him fun. His rotation just went smoother than before i had my C5 Faruzan.

I think anyone wanting to pick up Xiao right now should recognize one thing. He is not getting any better from here. I can hardly see any team members giving him more than Faruzan, Xianyun and Furina give him right now, MH and Vermillion probably are his ceiling on artifacts and PJWS is a very good spear for him too. Perhaps he caould get a slightly better weapon, that has crit DMG to work with MH better, but we're talking about him maybe getting 10% better ever. Meanwhile there is no reason, why someone like Neuvillette or Alhaitham couldn't still significantly improve with future content. So even if Xiao has become one of the better carries in the game right now, he likely will get worse over time relative to other characters.

And if you're using Furina+Xianyun, Desert Pavilion is his strongest set if you overcap his crit from marechaussee. Actually honestly even then, if you're going above 90%. Xianyun's buff is made for DMG% boosts. For comparison I use PJWS and DP and I plunge for 205-245k. Well, anyway, if you're using PJWS you likely can't make use of MH, but if you have Homa you can. Though I believe a fully stacked PJWS has more value.

For me a character is good if they perform very well even with mediocre investment. Because at the end of they day you are totally dependant on your luck to get good enough artifacts. Although I used him this abyss and he performed quite good, this abyss is tailor made for him. Overall Xiao just isn't that great.
