How good is it? | LEGO Barad-dûr 10333 REVIEW

This is our unsponsored #review of the #lego The Lord of the Rings set number 75380, Barad-dûr.
LEGO has finally dusted off their #lordoftherings theme to produce one of the most impressive ICONS sets to date. The completed build is made up of 5471 pieces and measures over 83 cm high! The set alos comes with a hefty pricetag, so the big question is: To dûr or not to Barad-dûr?

I have a lot of sets, and this one comfortably sits on top of the list. I wasn't t fan of the half tower construction...all good. Wasn't fan of the rock formation in the middle of the tower...and I love it. I love Sauron and Mouth of Sauron. Amazing set. Rivendell is a great build , great mini figures, but has no wow effect, IMO. Brad dur is just spectacular. Once you have build all three stages, and you place one on top of the other and you take some distance...just incredible.

After having built it myself it’s one of my most satisfying Lego set purchases ever. It does indeed just have a PRESENCE on display and I really like all the detailing on it. I particularly like the object source lighting around the eye and lava areas, and the interiors are surprisingly cool, something that pictures and videos don’t convey as well. I think this vs Rivendell is just a very subjective choice. I lean more towards the gothic, intimidating look of Barad Dur, but others may better like the beauty and serenity of Rivendell. Having seen both sets in person now (a client of mine owns Rivendell) I definitely prefer Barad Dur. Edit: I didn’t get any paper bags though. They’re not as commonplace as Lego wants you to believe sadly

Came to my laptop to sit down and work, open my KZbin and spot this gem waiting for me instead! YES MAN. Glad to see you opened this box with some dignity instead of tearing it 😅 How fitting that you get a trilogy of manuals! Thanks for sharing this Joe, and getting right into the review, with those up close static shots. Really feels like you get to experience the set in person and look around closely without things moving around too much. Didn't expect to see such a well-thought-out interior, with so many fun quirks. I gotta say, for the amount of stickers, they really do blend quite seamlessly against their background pieces. Exceptional minifigure designs - and so chuffed with the way you show it off. @LEGO, you gotta get this guy on your early release roll!

My set still had plastic bags. Still haven't gotten a set with the new paper bags yet.

Yeah I’m noticing a few smaller pieces getting stuck in the paper bags…caused a panic twice with a new set I’m building 😂

Sadly in the US we still don’t get paper bags. Hoping they start soon

@@DarkAnimalStudios nope. I think they were meant to roll them out in EU first but slowly work towards US. I believe if you order online you get paper because it may send from EU but I went in store and got mine and they are plastic still. Because I see some KZbinrs in NA get them with paper.
