I bought Iceborne around 3 or 4 years ago when I was jobless, in a bad situation with my family, and without future. I soloed 600h cause no Internet except on my phone. Now time passed and I have a rather good situation and walk toward my future, way stronger. Earing Seliana day theme just overwhelm me with nostalgia/ melancholy and reminds me of how this game (and franchise) helped me having good time when everything was in pieces in my life. Sometimes it's just more than product or art. It's a piece of people. I'm so thankful to have discovered it.

If you decide to see if you enjoy the game first and get it later or if you want to gain access to the new moves and mechanics right away, it is entirely up to you. I would, however, recommend avoiding the defender armor/weapons as they are designed to trivialize the base game and get you into the dlc as fast as possible. I agree, as a new MH player, world introduced me to acutally playing the game, It wasn't the combat that drew me in (I stayed for it thought) but rather the 'world' building to be explore. alot of specific creatures, the creatures really did things and interacted with eachother not to mention the endemic life and the Lynians, let alone lore about each large creature too. MHW is a W game ong.

As a fellow freedom hunter, I gotta say that I had wanted a monster hunter on the main consoles for years and when it was announced that they would be bringing it to Xbox and PlayStation again I was THRILLED. Some of the character and charm from the older games was lost, but the core of what makes monster hunter so enjoyable was retained. It’s the same reason why the souls games are so popular, because the level of dopamine you get from finally beating that monster you had been stuck on for so long is such a huge reward that you keep searching for more. It is by far THE definitive monster hunter game. The 20th anniversary is coming next year, they’re probably going to announce the next game soon-ish, and I can only hope that it builds upon what made world such a success

Definitely my favorite in the series. There's a lot of QoL and attention to detail throughout the game that just oozes with the soul and love you can tell the developers put into crafting it. I also know a lot of people have their prefences and there's plenty of people who enjoy the arena style maps of the older games, but they can't really beat the living, breathing feeling of the areas of the maps in World that have seen me going out many times just to look at them and explore around. Amazing game and unquestionable high point in the series. But I do admit I've ran into the issue of trying to wire bug myself into a recovery out of a bad hit only to be hit with the sudden realization I am once again punishable for getting greedy or not misreading a move after Rise. If they ever follow-up World with another Monster Hunter designed for more powerful systems, my only hope is they figure out how to make the engine handle more monster types without imploding their rigs.

God I hope they make a sequel in world/iceborns exact style and mechanics. The weapons were absolutely perfect, wouldn't change a single thing about any of them. The maps were incredible. The monsters were all super high quality, including animations. Turf wars. Biodiversity in maps. Sound design. So much more. I'm with you man, rise/sunbreak don't even come close. I quit that game after 9 hours because worldborn is vastly superior in every way to me, but sadly I'm in the minority and for some reason people seem to love the lightning pace and ridiculous speed of combat now and over the top traversal to the point you're a superhero. I hate it with a passion. I love the weight, the precision, and the deliberate inputs of world so much more. Risebreak is far too arcadey feeling to me. I hate it. Hopefully soon, Capcom has been soaring high with insanely good releases lately. Hoping that pushes them into a true world born sequel in the same vain.

An open world MH with a guiding lands system would be a must, but bigger, big hub, walk right out into the open world with friends, they'll just be monsters roaming and you open up new areas by doing story. Seemless transitions, and random events that can happen in the surrounding habitats. Also after the Palamutes introduction, it'd be sad to not see them return again for a long time.
@RiftFishing
@RiftFishing Жыл бұрын
I honestly think that's the direction the series is heading. My friends disagree, but considering they already have expeditions, I think Open World is a natural expansion of that system. Interconnect the areas, and you already have a working open world. Accept a quest from a town, and then just head out the gate, or fast travel to a specific point without any loading screens and bam, you're in the hunt. On the multiplayer side, you could just jump into an in-progress quest just by entering the area and accepting a prompt would feel awesome. Imagine just seeing squads of hunters taking down monsters from across the map while you're up at a high point.

STILL one of the greatest!!!! Absolutely can’t wait for a sequel specifically to World just with some of the movement ideas from Rise fused in. And if they make it next gen, only, creating it as a massive open world would be amazing, skipping the traditional hubs, but rather find and help build settlements where you can then create weapons and armor, eat, etc while also gaining quests. Also this would make the turf war idea make more sense as the animals can free roam.

Im still upset that they made one of my favorite elders, Alatreon, a gimmick fight. Honestly fighting him feels incredible but I cannot stress how infuriating Escaton Judgement is. Clutch Claw is not so bad, I think Tenderizing specifically is just actively awful to upkeep. And the Guiding Lands. I would hate it significantly less if there was no backwards progression tied to it. Id even take double the grind if it meant areas couldn't level down. Good video. I owe a sub as a proud slayer of Extremeth pre-iceborne. Iceborne is good but I think I prefer Rise despite that game's issues just due to weapon movesets, monster variety and Wirebugs

@@ShadowDeus Scoutflies doesn't bother me, I think it's a clever alternative of floating HUD in games that say "go here". But after hundreds of hours, it became more of a special effect rather a helpful tool. I get that they want MH World to be accessible to newbies to the franchise but they could have toned it down a little. My dream MH game would be a 5-10x bigger guiding lands where the monsters just live. With every monster type having their areas. Like the rath nests and stuff that happens there from time to time like a bazel invading them for example. I still want a hub but an open world outside of it with actual good rewards for hunting because you could free hunt in world too on a map but the monsters wouldn´t drop much. You needed to do investigations or quests if you wanted good rewards.

Me and my two friends who played MHW:I all thought the clutch claw was neat at first as well, but then the overreliance was annoying. And of course me, being the greatsword user of the group, ended up being the designated clutch-clawer, which was a duty I was never relinquished of. However, bashing the monsters into walls was fun, so I guess it wasn't too bad.
@garylai363

All the event quests are available for MHW:I since the end of the game, so you can play everything you want. When they had timed releases during the game's life, I thought of it as a good thing. It gave you quests to focus around or come back to the game for specific purposes. Guiding lands are much better than anomaly investigations IMO. Guiding lands were a chill place to hunt as you can't really lose, and the only thing you're really hunting for are the materials when you wall bang the monster, as well as the unique vegetation and ores that are on the maps. Also, they made it easy to search for other people's online games which would have the levels you needed. These features just feel more organic than what we have in Rise:S. To me, MHW:I is a masterpiece. The art, design, gameplay, sound/music, and fun factor are top notch. I found that the design in MHW:I was so well focused, but not restrictive. (other's might feel differently). The combat, systems, gear, build, decorations, drop rates, were all carefully designed and thought out. MHR:S feels like a more loose design ethos, and they give you more open ended options. Some might like it better but I find it lacking in focus and meaning.

the claw is an amazing add on to the game since it gave us hunters many new methods of interacting with the world and monsters and more mobility, what made the game easier for you is the defender set which they made for new players to use to finish world content and go to iceborn content so the game would '' update'' its quests system and weapons and armors and etc to catch up to the dlc of ice born, but then again the ice born stuff is bigger and deeper then world AND includes world its pretty much a way for the devs to have you play the first part of the game on easy mode like a tutorial then when all the mutated monsters infest the world from the first lands to the ice born to the gilded lands you figure out what the game is really like

I just hope there's some greater level of single player support in MH6. I get it I really do, MH is first and foremost a multiplayer series and experience. But I think singleplayer should be a choice I'm actively able to make rather than a bunch of settings I have to switch off. Just a simple singleplayer or multiplayer button on the title screen would be nice and possibly allow for pausing in hunts as you wouldn't be holding anyone else up. I get I can play MH alone, I just wish it didn't feel like the game was begrudging my choice to do so.

Yeah, it's unfortunate but a problem I don't believe much could've been done about. The issue was primarily with the engine, which, like with the test Lagiacrus in the game files, struggled to handle the more complex animations of monsters like leviathans and carapaceons without breaking their skeletons. If there's ever a sequel, they'll hopefully know to build around this in the future and adress it early on before they cross the point of no return.

Few days after release I got my hands on MHW. I only got PS Plus because I wanted to play with him. A chain reaction occured and if I wouldn't have bought PS Plus back then, I dunno if I was friends with my now best friend. I owe this series so much love. It made me meet my first true friend in MH3U because he joined my lobby. This man made me indirectly meet my very close friends (he also is a close one but rarely plays videogames by this time) over PS Plus which he made me buy because of MHW. Alatreon should have had a different "tutorial mechanics"... Like whenever you inflict enough elemental damage TO ANY MONSTER, you weak their strongest special attacks ONE TIME.
