How good is Sigil of Brilliance?

This card honestly makes me so much more excited about Oscilio. Shocking that I like something that says "draw a card" on it, I know.

Someone in my local discord mentioned that you could get a Sigil of Conductivity out into MUs with 0 arcane coming your way and it basically ensures your weapon will always be free. Which is kinda cool. Now if that's something we actually need I guess we won't know until more cards are revealed but I thought that was a neat interaction (or lack of lol)

One thing I think is underrated that took people forever to learn with iyslander: there are absolutely no downsides to running attack actions in Oscilio, and they are so far mandatory for Verdance

For example, pitch a blue, play lightning form (1) come in for a breakpoint, GA on hit. Play Spec Sigil (2) Staff for Amp 2 2 for shock/comet storm. If they blocked the lightning form, 3 arcane at instant, if they let it hit 8 arcane 4 card 12, setup a sigil, draw a card next turn play with a 6 card hand next turn.

You can also activate the staff in response to the destroy trigger and then play more lightning stuff in response to resolution right? I think its importand that it destroys at the beginng of action phase instead of start of your turn. Verdance probably has a similar weapon because there are so many sigils printed.

Both of them are probably gonna be some sort of "setup wizard", but oscilio has the appeal of setting up by dealing damage. I want to mess around with both of them though

I think my main issue with this card is it doesn't really show how oscillio wins games. Even if you can get a 7+ card hand with he we haven't seen any way for him to convert that into all damage, with wizard class cards notoriously light on go again Red aether quickening could be usefull here. We still need the damage to end up over rate though. Wizard cards tend to below rate anyway and oscillio's kill threat on the opponents turn looks lower than iyslander or kano at first glance

probably i wouldn't be able to afford oscilio's main deck so i'm hyping to play him in commoner, verdance too, i already have such a fun time (and some cold foils) in playing Kano there and i hope osicilio to be even better... i think oscilio will be an more aggro-ish tempo based hero, since kano already is the "combo" type of mage and verdance is probably here to fill the "control-ish" mage space that iyslander had

Lss is keeping things under wrap on this set. First they didnt release teh wiz hero text, next they gave us that but not the gameplans for each hero. Im betting that there are a BUNCH of stuff on release day that will make it all click.

Sigil of conductivity in matchups that don't have arcane damage permanently turns on volzar, which is kinda neat.

Your opponent's turn. Play Channel Lightning Valley. Play Sigil of Brilliance. Play a Meld for 1 arcane. The staff can amp it to 4 arcane. Draw a card. You now have 2 cards in hand. On your turn, sigil of brilliance pops. Pitch a lightning card for an instant lightning arcane damage card. Assuming we get a 1 cost meld that does 2 arcane, you could pay 2 for 3 arcane, with amp 1. If you don't draw, you let sigil resolve so you draw 1. Arsenal pass. With a 4 card hand, you did 4 damage on their turn, 4 on your turn, and a card in arsenal. You're likely to get another card on top of that, since the only way to prevent 4 arcane is to spend 2 cards, so it's either draw 1 or strip an extra card. We've already seen Comet Storm as Voltic bolt with set mechanic, so I imagine we'll get scalding rain. In that case, you'll have the option to pitch a blue for 6 arcane with either card (Pay 2 for comet storm and 1 for the staff to amp 1 for 6 arcane, or pay 1 for "Scalding rain," 1 for the meld, and 1 for the staff to amp 1 for 2 and 4.) In terms of rate, that's decent but not amazing, but you still have lightning valley to continue threatening to draw cards, and since so much of your damage is gonna be instant speed, you have the classic striders to end the game paradigm: you get a free 4 card hand worth of value at the end of the game to make up for any difference over time. I don't think Oscillio will be a combo deck. I think you're gonna end up using 2 or 3 cards on every turn, yours and theirs, to get value out of the staff. The fact the staff is free while you have a sigil, and most sigils destroy at turn start, implies you'll want to just staff at every single opportunity.

From the general "vibe" the sigils give me, I'm wondering if we're going to see some lightning wizard actions that, if they hit doing arcane damage, lets you fetch sigils from the discard pile and put them in play. They feel "small" enough to be comparable to things like the Agility/Might/Vigor tokens from Heavy Hitters. But we could see some stuff that plays off having multiple in play.

This sigil and other setup instant actually seem quite good in a big turn little tuen plan - since you can just discard one on the big turn!

10:45 I think it’s important to note the that the sigil is a Specialization. So you can only run 1 in your deck and it’s not possible to draw 2 of these.

it means only Oscilio can have it in the deck, not that you can only run 1... Legendary is the keyword that lets you only run 1 copy of the card

He will have an ability to destroy his auras. Play 3 of those auras, destroy them then draw 3 you get amp3 then cast your spells. Just a hunch
