Hello Mike, thanks for the kind comment! All our vlogs are edited by ourselves as our team totals an amazing 2 peeps hahaha.... Hope you'll enjoy your food adventures. Do note that as this vlog was made quite some time ago there might've been a change in quality of the food spots we've visited in Singapore.

The Big Uncle boss is semi retired. If you can meet him you considered very lucky. I have been eating their noodles since 1980. Prices have increased to $8.

Update on this vlog: Hi guys, WL here, I want to apologise for certain segments of this vlog. There are around 5 scenes that didn't match the segment during the initial 2 minutes of this vlog. When I uploaded this vlog I made the mistake of not double checking the upload...Certain footages were misaligned due to a frame rate glitch in our editor so the viewing experience will be compromised...I'm so sorry :( That said, the main part of the video after the initial 2 minutes is completely fine & I hope it's up to our usual standards. Hello Foodies! We're starting another food hunt, this time in Singapore! And we're starting with WL's favourite food, Bak Chor Mee! Hope you'll enjoy this vlog~

Ever tried the Market Street hawker center? I heard it’s the latest and biggest hawker center in Singapore to open this year

Is this BCM really worth 10 SGD?
@TheGourmetPlate Жыл бұрын
Hello there 👋, it really depends on the person😂. We think it’s worth it considering the quality of the meats, the precise cooking of the noodles & ingredients along with good balance of flavours 😋 Hope you’ve enjoyed this vlog & we’ll see you in the next one! ☺️

@@TheGourmetPlate Is the large bowl enough for 2 pax?
@TheGourmetPlate Жыл бұрын
If you’re not a big eater it’s kind of enough. However it’s better to order two 6 sgd bowls if it’s 2 peeps. Wei Loon got the large bowl cause that has always been his ‘go to’ choice 😙

Welcome to Singapore!!! Mmm Yes Tai Hwa is not bad but I think there are a lot of BCMs that are better. Looking forward to more videos from SG!

Wow you're quick! Hahaha! Hope you'll enjoyed this vlog! Also do recommend the other BCM spots cause this is literally WL's favourite food (no joke, he will pick this if this was the only food he could eat for the rest of his life😂)!

@@TheGourmetPlate hahaha yes typed it while I was still watching at the 3min mark I think. lol I personally like the ones at 85 Fengshan Market better. A lot of people like the Mui Siong one at Veerasamy Road. :)

Seriously i dunno what's the hype. This BCM is sooo sourish like drinking vinegar. Michelin given by Ang Mo?

Hi there, thanks for dropping by and we hope you've enjoyed this food vlog😉 We respect your view on Tai Hwa BCM, however a gentle reminder that personal taste is rather subjective, not to mention the inconsistencies Tai Hwa has been suffering in recent years which was pointed out in this vlog. When we visited during this episode we opined that there wasn't enough vinegar tang & it absolutely was no where near drinking vinegar 😂. Perhaps the cook accidentally poured two scoops of vinegar into your bowl? 😆

Don’t you think over sour😂
@TheGourmetPlate2 жыл бұрын
Hello Jeffrey! We think it needs more vinegar to give it more kick haha! It used to have this nice vinegar tang that isn't too sour & that is what we personally feel to be the hallmark of a great bak chor mee 😋
@tlyeoh69162 жыл бұрын
So sorry, as a Malaysian, i do thk that adding vinegar to bak chor mee ( or mee pok in malaysia) is not a good idea and tbh any malaysia stores that sell hakka mee ( savoury mee pok without any fancy sauces) taste much better than this michelin rated store
@TheGourmetPlate2 жыл бұрын
Hi TL Yeoh, thanks for sharing your thoughts! No worries as personal taste is very subjective 😉 Hakka Mee and Bak Chor Mee are rather different dishes & a dish like Bak Chor Mee benefits greatly from a vinegar tang (Bak Chor Mee is very different from Mee Pok as Mee Pok is just the noodle itself & in Malaysia it's used sometimes in Wan Tan Mee (adding vinegar would be a nono). As for Hakka Mee, adding vinegar will absolutely destroy that dish...It's like, adding vinegar to Lor Mee makes sense, but you won't add it to Har Meen hahaha... To avoid any potential squabbles about dishes in the comment section, both Hakka Mee & Bak Chor Mee (when done right) are very good in their own right 😁 Hope you've enjoyed this vlog & we'll be excited to see you in the next one!

They have a Michelin star so adding vinegar is a good idea
