Think about adding good cornbread Stuffing and roasted poblano peppers and Real Crab and Lobster, the list goes on...

I love tuna noodle casserole, but my husband doesn't, so the Stouffer's version is how I get to eat this comfort-food dish. I will admit that the oven-baked version looked more attractively browned than the microwave version, but I usually don't have time to bake a single-serve entree in the oven, and just nuke mine. I do typically add some additional seasoning (f.ex., seasoned salt & pepper), and sometimes will add some grated Parmesan or shredded Cheddar cheese on top after cooking, too (because I grew up "behind the cheddar curtain" in WI and am very fond of cheese). If Mr. Wolfe Pit lived closer to me, he would be welcome to ship any (still-frozen & uncooked) packages of the Stouffer's tuna noodle casserole my way any time!

This is one of my faves when I buy Stouffer's (only when they're on sale). I always microwave. Sometimes I add a minute of cooking time to try to get the top crisper. Then you gotta stir it together before eating. Always add pepper. And sometimes I add crumbled potato chips to the top. Good eatin'! 😸😽👵

I make my own version. I make a slightly thin cheese sauce use shells, mix in tuna, and peas, carrots, and corn. Added a table spoon of hot sauce (tapatio and Sriracha are the best) and sprinkle cheddar cheese. Then in a deep pan layer of panko seasoned with a bit of oil, paprika, salt, oregano, black pepper, parsley and a bit or parm. Bake for 20 minutes or so until it thickens up and has a nice crust. Its just how i like it but there isnt a wrong way for it until you involve mayo.

I buy this only when it's on sale. I always cook it according to the directions and afterwards I add a whole can of tuna (drained) and stir it in and cook it for about 90 seconds more. It's a pretty good filling meal with the extra tuna.

Whenever I make tuna helper I add extra seasoning and soft cheese wedges. I prefer to eat it cold. When it’s heated up the smell is too intense.

In recent editions of Joy of Cooking, the tuna casserole recipe involves making your own condensed cream of mushroom soup from scratch and then using it in a recipe that would normally use canned condensed cream of mushroom soup! The result is worth the trouble, I think. Since switching to a low carbohydrate diet, the noodles are something I leave out. Adding extra celery sort of helps.

The oven one was how it's supposed to be. I have, what I think, is the world's best recipe. Don't think I could go frozen. Also peas are a must. Have you ever tried fresh peas. Right out of the pod, not cooked, are delicious, or lightly steamed. Frozen or canned are something that look like peas.

Sup Larry, I ate some frozen tuna casseroles way back because free, when homeless. After had at a diner to see if good, not a fan, was better tho. I liked the idea of it so after culinary school I figured use what I learned, made spicy tuna casserole and still do today, think tuna casserole is something have to make yourself, it's cheap and easy. One of my all time Stouffers favorites since as long as I can remember. I usually just nuke it, but preparing it in the oven does give the breadcrumb topping a nicer texture. Pair it with a slice of garlic bread and some steamed broccoli, and you've got a cheap, delicious, convenient meal... unless you're one of those weirdos who can't stand tuna. What's wrong with you?

It would never be anything I'd eat with any regularity but I've had it and didn't throw it out. I'm not a fish fan and about the only way I 'like' tuna is made into cold tuna salad sandwiches and even then not very often. I'd grind up ham or bologna and make a 'salad' by preference instead. Once every 10 years or so is about my speed for tuna or any fish.

What stumps me is that tuna noodle casserole is so stupidly easy to make, particularly if you go the mac and cheese route! Just add all the bits to a casserole and some extra water and you don’t even need to parboil the macaroni. No doubt it’ll be better than anything frozen!

I like a cheater tuna "casserole". Take a box of macaroni and cheese (one of the good ones, not the powdered cheese junk) and prepare according to instructions. Stir in a can or two of tuna and some freshly ground pepper and you are done. If you have a few more minutes to spare before eating, you can take it and place it in a dish, top with breadcrumbs, or better yet some french fried onions, and throw in the oven until toasted. Fast, cheap, and tasty. It also avoids that stinking up the house thing from cooking the tuna for a long time as you are basically just cooking it using the residual heat from the macaroni and cheese.
