I did read this also when I got it but I've honestly never seen it happen and I'm always shooting in high burst mode

Hello Joe, thank you for making this video on the Canon 1D X. It's nice to see one on low light. I bought mine 1D x mk ii about a year and a half ago, and I just love it! I shoot mostly wildlife, and the pics that I have taken are amazing!

Great video , Joe. I’ve had my DxMkii for about 4 years now. Still produces great stills.

I mainly shoots aviation, currently using a 5Div. Love the resolution it delivers but the RAW buffer depth is somewhat I constantly have to remind myself especially with fast jets. Been watching reviews about 1dx II recently and I’m starting to love this camera. Hopefully I can grab a good deal before my next airshow. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this camera!

@ an additional question - given that you shot a lot with the 1dxii, have you had issues with the oil splatter on the sensor? Read some forums online are there were some users complaining about 1dxii’s oil splatter issue. Thanks!

Joe it's not your imagination I have A 1DX and an R3 and I can tell you right now the 1DX does better and low light when I'm photographing birds in my yard late in the afternoon the 1DX puts the R3 to shame . The R3 is still a very good camera but it is not a replacement for the 1DX .

Good to know its not just me!

Interesting to hear that it’s better than the R3, you’re not the only one I’ve heard this from. I’ve been looking into a low light sports camera and thought of the R1 or R3, but people tell me they prefer the 1DX-m3 for dim stadiums. However, you would think that the mirrorless cameras would be better. Have you heard anything about the R1 performance?
