For those not really familiar with Echo chainsaws, the CS-590 (Timber Wolf) & professional grade CS-620P are basically the same saw (both 59.8 cc). Unless you find one on sale a CS-590 will run about $450 with a 20" bar/chain, & the CS-620P would be about $630. The extra $180 dollars will give you two piston rings instead of one, an aluminum handle versus plastic, a metal cover over the bar/chain instead of plastic. Don't quote me on this, but you can check this out for yourself. Besides all that, they run about the same. So you would need to decide what's important to you. Many feel the $400 (power head) Timber Wolf is one of the best 60 cc chainsaw values. It has some power, & it will pull a larger 3/8" pitch chain.

I purchased a saw year: 2013($200) well used still very strong on Lewis Winch, 2017($200)had less than ten tanks of gas through its cutter, 2020($200) had red gas from the dealership less than one tank. All three purchased off Craigslist. All I've done is muffler, air filter mod, and re tune accordingly. They are my bucking saws for Oregon Ash, Red/White Oak, Walnut and Douglas Fir. Run 24" bars all day running full comp and full skip tooth. They eat well with no four stroke issues. Run very cool. 7310P is next.

I have a Proyama chainsaw, and I will say that this Proyama chainsaw is better than my Stihl and Husqvarna ones. It has plenty of power and it's easy to maintain. There's no kickback at all and even with the included chain it cut pretty quick and very clean. using the included chains I cut some pretty large logs. It's certainly not light and could probably be a little better balance but I don't do this for a living so I'm fine with it. The two bars are a very well built and very sturdy. Idle is perfect out of the box. Chain brake works and is essential. The included safety equipment actually does a good job. The ear muffs and face mask are not the best quality material but they both will certainly protect your hearing and most definitely your face from flying chips. The face mask screen unexpectedly heavy duty. The gloves at best will keep any sweat off your hands and prevent it from slipping. The gas can is very handy!

But now i need a bigger saw with a longer bar, so I'm certainly entertained by this Echo Timberwolf. I was thinking about the Husqvarna 460 Farm Boss, but i believe its a bit more money than the Echo, and, i believe that the Echo might be more on the professional side than the Husky. But I was getting a lot of shade from the guys at work because they are hard up for Stihl or husky, but technically it was "free money" for me, and I think this is going to be great for my needs.
